[Mar. 13th, 2009|01:42 pm] |
TITLE: Now You Do AUTHOR: Ashleigh Anpilova CHARACTERS: Gibbs, Ducky, DiNozzo, Abby, McGee, Ziva, Palmer, Vance PAIRING: Anthony DiNozzo/Ziva David GENRE: Gen/Het RATING: PG SUMMARY: A sequel to Earned It. Tony surprises the team. CHALLENGE 'Surprise' WORD COUNT: 1,805 SPOILERS: Nothing specific. AUTHOR'S NOTE 1: This sequel was meant to be fully team gen to follow on from its prequel. However, my bunny had other ideas *sigh* and decided to throw a small bit of Tony/Ziva into it. It then went on to spawn the final scene which in turn has led to another sequel (Gibbs/Ducky). And it has a few more ideas for team gen stories. AUTHOR'S NOTE 2: Thanks to curly_the_sue for her help with a small part of this. DISCLAIMER: I don't own these characters, nor am I making any money from them. I merely borrow them from time to time.

The new challenge is:
SURPRISES
I think this one goes without saying, but we'll say it anyway. What happens when the unexpected happens? When things take a left turn to "What just went on here?" What happens when the evidence throws them a new clue?
What happens when Tony says something he didn't really mean to, or when Abby blurts out an admission under the influence of too much caffeine and not enough sleep? What happens when the team finds out something about McGee they hadn't known before?
Make the unexpected happen, folks. See what's next.

You have two weeks (mostly) to post your responses. This challenge will close at midnight PST on Tuesday, March 17th. (Honest.)

The new challenge is:
WEAPONRY
Our military & law enforcement fandom is rife with weaponry of all sorts. For this one, anything goes, from words or silence as weapons through fists and brass knuckles, bolos and boomerangs, shuriken and nunchaku, knives, swords, bombs, guns, biological agents like Tony's pneumonic plague, all the way up to nukes and planes crashed into buildings.
What was Gibbs' relationship with his sniper rifle? Does he still have it? Has Abby ever fired a gun outside of the lab? Has Ducky used a scalpel in self-defense, perhaps? What about the first time McGee pulled his gun in the field? Who introduced Ziva to weaponry, and how old was she?
You whumpers can have a field day with this one. Or if you're in the mood for a bit of porn, how about some knife!kink, or perhaps a bit of bloodplay? (Please remember to include appropriate warnings if you write kinkfic.)
It's an armed and dangerous world, people. The pen may be mightier than the sword, but is the computer keyboard -- or a computer virus -- mightier than an Uzi? You tell us.

The new challenge is:
POLITICS
We've just seen what happens in Washington, DC during a Presidential inauguration, and now we're seeing a new administration built, new policies being rolled out, old ones revised or rescinded.
What's the impact on our team, in a time of big changes in national politics?
Were they called in to investigate something that occurred during the inauguration? Did something happen that involved one of the Marines stationed in the White House? Was NCIS involved in responding to a terrorist threat?
What about the impending repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell? What do Gibbs and Ziva think of the new interrogation restrictions, and do some of their co-workers disagree?
If you want to explore on a different scale, you might consider local politics, office politics, inter-agency politics -- NCIS vs FBI, anyone? Did our team members campaign on behalf of anyone or anything during the election? What or whom did they support or oppose, and why? Has any of them ever considered running for office of any sort, at any level, from junior high school class president on up?
Or send them to a seminar on politically correct behavior in the workplace; there's got to be a story in that.
Exercise your right to write, people.
