Epic Diaw Dunk on Nowitzki.

Hot off the press . . . here.

Suns win . . . 106-86. 4th quarter? Wasn't even close.

Series . . . 2-2.

To be honest, I figured by now that the Suns would have a rough time with Dallas, a team that actually bounced San Antonio, even if that squad wasn't at its finest during this season. I mean, shit, not their finest (from both Texas teams) ended up being a hell of a lot of wins. Suns? Lakers, Clippers. That wasn't exactly easy, but it wasn't exactly the Spurs, either.

Blowout?

Suns?

Amazing stuff.

Suns are rough in their building . . . their fans are fanatic in there. That franchise and their fan base want a championship really really bad. We're talking Red Sox hunger, on some remote level. They're Philly-hungry, in terms of the fans.

Dallas probably won't let 5 or possibly 7 end up like that, most likely, at their home, but a Suns win in 5 could very well spell a Suns entry to the Finals.

So much for predictability, not just in this sport, but in many of the others. Steelers, Red Sox, White Sox, whoever the hell is winning 'em in the NHL . . . you name the sport, and it looks like there's a lot of unlikely winners as of recent seasons.

I'm glad you said that. I've thought the same to some extent and I wondered if I was crazy.

People say that all of us Suns fans shouldn't complain, that we have had a really good team for a very long time and some teams have never been good during that time. But at the same time, the Suns haven't won it all, and that's what matters. Almost every year since the late 80s, the Suns have raised everyone's expectation only to fall short. Sometimes very short, and sometimes so agonizingly close.

This city is a Suns city for sure. The Diamondbacks are in 1st place and hardly anybody knows about it. Game 1 against Dallas was on at the same time as the American Idol final, and here in Phoenix the game crushed American Idol, even though it was on cable and Idol was on regular TV.

There's just something about this year's team. I don't know if it will be enough to win it all, but the fact that they are even still around is pretty amazing.

I second this. This is the Little Team That Could.

Of course, I want to see them go all the way, but even if they fail to win another game, no one can deny their heart at this point. I haven't been this proud of them since '93.

They're more inconsistent than the Pistons, but they have a reason.

Suns are probably one of the most explosive of offensive displays in the recent history books. When they get running, it's really difficult to stop the bleeding, for teams against them.

As far as one of the most explosive, the sky literally is the limit for the potential of what they can do when they run.

Couple that with a team that can get them to stumble in the 1st quarter, or any team that imposes half-court and respect in the paint, and that team can turn into one of the most unwatchable clubs . . . anemic FG, gigantic numbers of turnovers. It's very bipolar.

As for the theory posed before, I feel it's far worse to have a perpetually-horrible club (historic Clippers) than it is to have a team that just misses the mark, never getting to the top. Both are heartbreaks, but the former is pure disgust. That, at least to me, is stronger than the rough luck of coming up just short. Both, however, can haunt players and fans with similar agony.

I actually recorded the finale and didn't even watch it until a lot later because I was watching the game.

Although I have to admit, had Elliot been in the finale, I would've been watching.

The Suns are Arizona's team for sure. Rabid fanbase that more or less won't desert the team when times are rough and can taste blood this year. It's been a lot of fun to watch this town and team during these playoffs.

Even though I'm pulling for Dallas, I respect the Suns quite a bit. They're able to win in a run-and-gun style, and they're somehow able to squeak out the close games under 100 points. Both my Lakers and my Clippers didn't have an answer for them in their respective game sevens. It's harder to beat them than it looks.

I am baffled as to how they get so many teams to follow their pace . . . I guess athletes love to prove extremes, and Phoenix has that athletic style which really does play into that competitive gamble.

That, and they're pretty deadly in terms of speed . . . rocking like they do, it's amazing that they don't bust even more turnovers than they do.

Lakers and Clips had two weaknesses . . . inexperience in the post season. That's the same thing that caused Cleveland to fold after it really came close to bouncing Detroit really early.

While Kobe's a killer, it's the rest of that team that doesn't have that composure . . . it's something learned, for sure.

Ditto for most of the rest of the Clips outside of guys like Sam.

Suns got rocked like that by SA last year . . . new style, new core of guys, in a place not familiar to them in the slightest . . . Suns got smoked by San Antonio, who'd already been there, suffered heartbreakers, got the championship in 03.

The Mavs need Dirk to be on EVERY single game if they want a chance to win this series. He only had 11 points last night and that's definately not a good enough performance from your star player. I still say the Mavs will win it in 6 games (if Dirk and Jet step up).

Well, even the best shooters in the game (Dirk, Nash, Rip, etc) have nights where they can't hit shit.

I think Dirk's forever-light defense (in comparison to guys like Ben Wallace, Bowen, Alonzo Mourning) is what's killing them on some nights, even still . . . I know Dirk's improved his paint work on both sides of the court, but really, letting Diaw do that, come on, foul that motherfucker, send his ass to the floor. Not necessarily drawing blood, but have the decency and dexterity shown on those shots to wrap his arms to make him miss that shot.

They can't afford Dirk's D to slip because Diop's going to show his inexperience, and Dampier's always been an inconsistent defender.

Dallas is more potent than ever before, but to lose Game 5 at home, for them, would be a colossal failure.

For their sake (and the fans), I hope that doesn't happen.

If the Suns get it done and go to the finals that will raise my respect for Nash even more... If Nash and the Suns happen to win the title, I don't ever want to see anyone question Nash as an MVP. This includes myself because I didnt think Nash deserved it.

They are doing it with Diaw playing center! Thats unbelieveable but the Suns are proving that undersized teams can get it done. Plus with guys like Tim Thomas, Raja Bell and Boris Diaw playing great after many said they were nothing but bench warmers. Plus the fact that they are making this run without Amare is impressive.

I think the Suns in the finals would be more entertaining, so as a basketball fan I am pulling for them.

Yeah, but Nash is always going to have that stigma of being an incomplete baller . . . he's the most valuable player to his team, but in terms of defense deficiency, inability to run half-court, that's some bullshit, and I can't forgive it.

You know what's the new style . . . it is fast, undersized. NBA went through that Shaq era where the bigger forwards were the best ones. After countless Adonal Foyles, it's just not profitable to stock guys like that.

Which, of course, makes it even less desireable for guys like Z on Cleveland. Even if they wanted to shop him, there's only a few half-court only teams that would even bother to consider it.

I wonder if Dallas is secretly happy they got past San Antonio and are having trouble rising to the new challenge. Of course, it's 2-2; they're talented enough to beat this Phoenix team twice without really trying. But clearly they're not playing the same ball they were against the Spurs - and not getting the gift calls quite as much.

That's a possibility. The Mavs need to find SOME way to stop Nash or they won't win this series.

That also depends on Raja Bell. I think the Suns chances are better, but he was limping a little bit last night towards the end of the game. Maybe if he gets some rest then he'll be ready to go again, but as a Mavs fan, I hope not :P

The king of YTMND accidentally deleted all YTMNDs.

If that ever comes back up again, it'll still be epic.
