WHAT?

Phil, you can't be serious. *facepalm*

WHY MUST I GET NEWS LIKE THAT IN THE MORNING WHEN I'VE JUST WOKEN UP?

Of course it's just a loan, but... why Milan, Phil? WHY?

And what is this about Arsenal having signed Silvestre from ManU? *frowns*

Music:Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become

I still have what Dougie Poynter is singing about in his favourite song. No worries, I'm not going to bore you with poo stories. *LOL* Let me just say that one of my colleagues at work (I shall call her S. from now on, it's a lot easier, and she's a wonderful person so I'll probably write more about her here) recommended some medicine to me that will help calm my stomach down. Went to the chemist's after work to get them, let's hope they'll work. It's my granny's 85th birthday on Sunday and I don't want to sit in the restaurant moping because I can't eat anything. (And you know how much I love eating, so that would be a lot of moping.)

Anyway, to business football. Shortly after I posted that entry yesterday, I read that Marcell Jansen transferred to HSV. WTF? I expected Bayern to get active on the transfer market, yes, but I believed they'd get a striker instead of selling a defender. Since when do we have an abundance of defenders, anyway? Now we aren't just in need of a striker anymore, we're also lacking a defender. All we have left, if I remember correctly, is Lahm and Lell (and Sagnol, yes, but if he continues playing like he did last season, he'll be useless for us), and what if one of them gets injured? Or even worse, both at the same time? *sigh* I'm not happy. Unfortunately, I can't see any affordable defender anywhere, not after Liverpool bought them all. (Okay, that was exaggerated, but still.)

Speaking of which, Liverpool signed Albert Riera, which is a good idea, because we need another player for the left midfield side, and Yossi, though I love him, has been giving sub-par performances recently. Since I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to La Liga and doesn't have anything to do with Real Madrid, I don't know much about Riera, just that Aragonés didn't call him up for the Euro (which isn't that surprising considering the alternatives). When I found an article about that in one of the Liverpool communities, I was expecting people to be happy about the signing or put forward some useful arguments as to why they weren't that happy. Instead, all I get to read is "oh no, I don't want him at Liverpool, he's so ugly". *sigh* Well, I suppose that's what I get for spending most of my online time in communities where there are mostly (only?) girls. I don't want to sound sexist, and I know that straight guys are pretty much like that when it comes to women's football, but still... *SIGH* I'm a gay guy, I should be the superficial one here! ;)

Liverpool are playing Aston Villa on Saturday, right? I'm asking this because Bayern are playing on Sunday, and I'm somewhat less enthusiastic about them at the moment (I wonder why *rolls eyes*), and I'm seriously contemplating visiting my uncle on Saturday to watch the Liverpool game instead. And maybe catch a stream for the Real Madrid match on Sunday (if I haven't collapsed by then). I have a vision of myself at some point in the middle of this season, being majorly stressed because of this stupid idea to follow three leagues at the same time. Have I recently mentioned that I win at life?

And just as I'm typing this, I read that Micho will be playing against Hertha on Sunday. I just can't win this, can I? *sigh*

BUT! I have good news also! Namely a fic rec! Open up, Sesame by [info]witheredsong, Gago/Higuaín (finally!), and so brilliantly written and hilariously funny that I - don't know what to say besides "Squee!", actually. :D

And just as I want to click "post entry", I get an e-mail telling me that Bayern are close to signing Massimo Oddo from AC Milan (on loan for a season, then with the option for purchase). Do I want? I'm not so sure... Milan fans on my flist, what can we expect of him?

ETA: I just randomly glanced over a pic of Harry Judd and thought I had seen Wayne Rooney. I think I need to have my eyes checked. O____O

Because I'm running out of expressions to use as transitions between my paragraphs of randomness, I'll just post a random list this time. :D

  • [info]rotschopf and I are planning to go watch the FC Augsburg vs Bayer 04 Leverkusen DFB Cup tie live at the stadium at the end of September! *bounces* That'll be awesome. I'm already very excited, especially since I haven't seen [info]rotschopf for months! *sniffles and clings* I hope the tickets will go on sale soon, because we still need to figure out which block we want to stand in. I wouldn't mind being in the guest block, even though I'm going to cheer for the home team, but if the Leverkusen fans will murder me if I stand amongst them wearing my Augsburg jersey, it might be better to go for one of the more neutral blocks. ;)

  • The Fabio Cannavaro Show. Oh dear God, I totally laughed my ass off. Click the link to find out Canna's new lucky charm, the reason why Real Madrid lost 4-1 in Saudi Arabia, why Canna was never Maradona's ballboy, what it takes to become the next Canna, why Pirlo held on to Canna like that during the penalty shoot-out against France - and many more hilarious things. Seriously, this is brilliant. And a lot less awkward than the Cesc show, to be honest. Maybe Nike finally learned how to do this properly? XD

  • I knew there were rumours about Real Madrid being after David Villa, but what is this about Cazorla? Kudos to Villa for renewing his contract, though, and affirming his love for Valencia in a language I don't understand Valencià, aww. I like him and I think he's a great striker, but I just can't see him at Real, despite his affair friendship with Iker Casillas.

  • Related to the previous point: Pic of the Day. )

  • Bojan Krkić will be legal tomorrow. *rubs hands* XD

  • I think I'll post some picspams next. It's been ages since I've done that here. I just don't know who to picspam. (I so win at life.) What do you think? Who deserves a picspam?

Liverpool vs Liège now. Please, guys, don't make me sad.

Oh, and apparently, Real Madrid are playing a friendly against Sporting Lisbon tonight at 10pm. Is anyone going to watch that?

ETA: The commentator just called "You'll Never Walk Alone" the "national anthem" of Liverpool. I don't know whether to be proud or amused. ;)

ETA 2: Can I marry Pepe Reina, pls?

ETA 3: This match is bad for my health. *tears hairs out*

ETA 4: OH MY GOD, DIRK KUYT. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I ADORE THIS MAN.

So... I was looking up Chris Pine (man, he's cute) on IMDB to see what he's been in besides Bottle Shock.

And I saw a little bit up the page: Star Trek (2009) (post-production) .... Kirk

Omg... How did I not know about this?! Seriously. Dude. I mean... about the future existence of this movie, not the guy's part in it.

But still. Check out the cast list! Omg. I'm losing my mind over it.

Zachary Quinto (Sylar from Heroes) is Spock.
Simon Pegg (from Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz) is Scotty.
John Cho (Harold from Harold and Kumar) is Sulu.
Karl Urban (...do I really need to explain this?) is Dr. "Bones" McCoy .
Zoe Saldana (Anamara from PotC) is Uhura.

And Eric Bana and Greg Ellis are in it! Omg!

I just have to say... This cast list is made of win, so the movie had better not suck.

P.S. Why do I not have a Star Trek icon? *facepalm* My icons really need a revamping this weekend. As do my mood icons. hmm.

I sense a virus approaching me. Felt sick last night already and continued feeling sick this morning. On my way home from work today, I bought pretzel sticks and coke. Hope that'll help. I'm going to be strong and try to fight it, because I just don't need this right now. *sigh* Maybe that's why I've been rather cranky recently - unfortunately without teh pretteh of Sergio to make up for it... :/

Fortunately, lots of awesome things were waiting for me when I got home. Like a video of David Villa capting moves for FIFA 07. )

Also, someone posted an article about Cesc Fàbregas. I didn't think it was possible, but I love him even more now. Dude, it's really true what they say in the article - why can't every football player be like him? He doesn't make a drama in the media when he wants a pay rise. He has a very efficient and clever way to deal with rumours. And he's an absolutely wonderful person. I didn't even know that he was so active in charity! And judging from the personality he reveals in this, he's the player every team wants/needs, the one who respects decisions and gives 100% every time. Arsenal are damn lucky to have Cesc.

And last but not least, [info]izzy505 made gorgeous, gorgeous icons of the Olympic Argies. The Pretty nearly blinds me. ♥

I want to read fic. Good fic. So could you please comment with a link to what you consider one of the best (or even the best?) fic I haven't read yet? :D I don't mind who it's about as long as it's not Harry Potter from one of my main fandoms. Pretty please?

I just watched the Olympics final between Nigeria and Argentina.

Olympic Games 2008, Beijing, Final: Nigeria vs Argentina
(Di María 57')

Nigeria: Vanzekin - Adefemi, Apam, Adeleye, Okonkwo - Kaita, Isaac (Ekpo 70'), Ajilore - Okoronkwo (Anichebe 64'), Obinna, Odemwingie
Argentina: Romero - Zabaleta, Pareja, Garay, Monzón - Gago, Mascherano - Messi (Lavezzi 93'), Riquelme, Di María (Banega 88') - Agüero (Sosa 79')

Cut for the possibility of me pissing in your cheerios. )

Speaking of the Olympics, I'm rather sorry for José Sosa. I had considered the Olympics a good chance for him to gain some match practice and maybe even to recommend himself for further call-ups. In the end, his Beijing balance adds up to a little more than 90 minutes of actual play time, on the cost of a missed preseason at Bayern and quite possibly an even more difficult start than last season. He can hardly be satisfied with that. *sigh* But I shall keep hoping he'll finally make it. He's definitely got potential, he just needs to believe in his talent and be a bit more daring sometimes.

Your result for The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test...

Computer Savant

39 % Nerd, 83% Geek, 65% Dork

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Geek and Dork, earning you the title of: Computer Savant.

People confuse you with a Nerd all of the time. You aren't some genius, like some people have said, and didn't/don't really like school all that much (and you especially hated some of the social aspects, like getting mocked). It's just that you have some passions and interests that you're extremely into/good at, and this has placed you in circles with other social outcasts, some of whom are exceptionally bright.

The awesome thing about being where you are is that you get to hang out with an elite group (though you'd probably rather be alone, or with only the closest friends and family) and you can make quite a good career for yourself in your particular specialities. Common to this group are people who are highly into electronics/computers as that is where the money lies, today.

Congratulations!

Music:The Killers - Change Your Mind

Today, there was the Olympics final between Argentina and Nigeria. I set my alarm at 6am but then was too tired to get up, so I slept till nine, knowing that I had taped the match at OnlineTVRecorder. The taping worked out fine, but due to some weirdness, I couldn't download it until about 1pm. *sigh*

So I decided to ignore my flist so I don't accidentally read the result anywhere and went to watch the semifinals first. I was bored out of my mind for almost the entire first half (except when Messi had the ball), and the second half wasn't that much more exciting except for the goals, Messi's speed-dribblings (♥) and Romero's saves. And it wasn't even Argentina's fault. They played extremely well in the second half and completely dominated Brazil, but the Seleção were so unbelievably bad that even Derby County (no disrespect!) would have scored at least one goal against them. The red cards against Lucas and Thiago Neves were ridiculous, though. Oh, and I had to snicker at the fact that Kun's first goal was a plain handball. Did his father-in-law-to-be teach him that? *grins* All in all, it was a muchly deserved victory for Argentina, of course.

I left the flat about 3pm to watch the Bayern game at my uncle's and was planning to watch the Olympics final upon my return. Well. It's 8.45 now, the download is only at 64%, and my friendspage is exploding BUT I CAN'T LOOK AT IT YET. *headdesk*

This is all I'll say about the Bayern game.

Transfer season is getting slightly insane. Petrić going to HSV made me WTF already, but... Sheva back to Milan and Pizarro back to Bremen (albeit on loan)? Clearance sale at Chelsea? Anyway, about time in Sheva's case. I'm no Sheva fan, or Milan fan, or Chelsea fan, but all the hassle about him being so unhappy at Chelsea annoyed me, and I'm glad it's over. The only worrying thing is this: When I recently looked at the number of strikers in the service of this season's CL teams, both Bayern and Milan were last with three strikers each. Now Milan bought a fourth one. If that isn't a broad hint, I don't know what is.

In completely unrelated news: New McFly video. I find it pretty interesting that they chose to make a single of a song that hasn't been on the Mail Pre-release. ;) Anyway, very neat video! I don't get the story at the beginning, and with the dancing scenes and the poppiness of the song, I was occasionally reminded of the Backstreet Boys, but other than that, nice. :D

And since Iker has worked wonders at cheering me up recently... )

Music:Marilyn Manson - Rock is Dead

Today, something really weird happened to me at work. I was listening to "633 Squadron", which is one of the official Bolton Wanderers anthems according to their website. Before the song was over, a colleague called me to fix his printer. I went over to his office and stood by the open window, and suddenly, the very same "633 Squadron" is playing in the ice hockey stadium across the road, where a couple of ice figure skaters practice their free skating. Granted, the song was used in a war movie a long time ago, but still, it's not really that famous in Germany, so I guess you can imagine the look on my face. I suppose I confused the hell out of my colleague when I asked him if that song was really playing in the stadium or if I was imagining things.

In less WTF and more positive news, I finally managed to tune up my Firefox 3, and it's running a lot faster now. YAY! :D That, together with the news of Micho being back in training is enough to improve my day. And the prospect of the weekend, of course. :)

Also:

Apart from the fact that this is gorgeous as fuck and makes me want to jump Iker and do naughty things to him (but then again - what doesn't? XD) - IS THIS A MARILYN MANSON RIFF?

I've been posting lots of random entries lately, I know. *sigh*
