Ok so this doesn't pertain to anyone already in the community. So please disregard...
For those of you not in the community...
Now this might seem a little overboard. But we get, on average, about 2-5 people applying to the community a day. So if you: don't have your birthdate in your profile, have all/the majority of your entries friends only and don't friend a mod, have no/very few entries, have a new journal, etc. you will get denied.
It's not hard to read the info of the community and comply to what we ask. It's not like I'm asking you to climb K2, just have your birthdate and your entries visible to us mods. We're just trying to keep everyone safe and as comfortable as they can be (in the nude). ;)

| Membership requests |

We are really behind on approving membership requests. I'm sorry to everyone who is waiting to hear back. I'm not sure why but we went for a long time with very few requests and all of the sudden there are almost 50 in the queue.
We try really hard to make this a pleasant community, free of trolls and other internet pests. This means that each request has to be individually considered and normally results in some delay for approval. Because of the number of requests recently though, this delay is much longer than usual.
If you have individual concerns feel free to email one of the mods. Our info is on the community profile.

| Info, How to Join, and Community Rules |

We are a community for fans of the heavenly mixture of dreadlocks and nudity. So whether you are the star of such things, a curious novice, or an eager onlooker, we bid you come in.
Because of the nature of this community all posts are friends only and we have moderated membership.
To Join
1. You must be over 18. PLease make sure that your full birth date shows up on your lj profile. This is required by livejournal because of the content of this community.
2. Go to the community info page and click on the link to join, or just click it HERE.
3. If your journal is friends only please add the mods as friends. You may delete us after you are approved. We do this to try and get a feel for the people who join in order to keep the community safe for everyone and keep the creepy stalker people out.
RULES to keep everyone happy:
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE ANY PICTURES HERE WITHOUT THE OWNER'S PERMISSION. VIOLATION OF THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE BANNING. NO FUSKING, NO STEALING, NO LINKING. END OF STORY.
1) You must be 18 to join and to post. We will check your userinfo. If it does not display your birthday or you are younger than 18, you will be denied membership.
2) This is not a place to discuss dreadlocks/argue about them/ask questions about them. For that sort of thing, please redirect yourself to our wonderful affiliate, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) get_up_dread_up.
4) No drama. We will not tolerate negative comments of any kind, insinuated, direct, vague, or otherwise; or petty arguements. Sole discretion is up to the mods. If you have an issue with any decisions made please address them by email.
5) Please put multiple images under an lj cut. Large images (larger than 600 px wide) should also be under a cut.
6) All posts are automatically friends-locked. If you decide to go back and make your entry public, it will be deleted. This is very important.
7) If you are a new user without an established blog, you will likely be denied access. This is to weed out possible freaks. Sorry guys.
8) WE WILL NOT TOLERATE ABUSE. IF THERE ARE ANY ISSUES, PLEASE CONTACT A MOD.
RULES FOR POSTS:
1) Any form of nudity is allowed. Get as naked and dirty as you want. We just ask that you have dreadlocks in addition to the nudity. :)
2) If you are going to be posting something very explicit, please place under an lj cut and warn people.
Ie: If you are posting pics of yourself masturbating, please say so.
3) Only post pics of yourself or that you have permission to use in this manner.
4) Please remember that even though the posts are friends only, someone (ex boyfriend, parents, teachers, boss, grandmother) you don't want seeing them CAN. If you are not 100% comfortable, then do not post.

Just a reminder, that your userinfo must say that you are 18 or older, otherwise we mods can't let you into the community.
Also the more personal information you have on your profile the better. If it's just your name, birthdate, and a list of your friends and communities, and your journal is friends only, or a journal that doesn't contain many personal entries, well... i'm probally going to deny you.

Phew! Finally, all caught up on the new members. With exams and papers and readings (oh my!), i fell behind in accepting people in the community.
But it's all up to date now.
Also i was wondering, would you, the community, like to have some say in who gets in? What i was thinking was that i could post the person's LJ who wants in and then those of you who are concerned can check them out. I was thinking this might highten security in here. So if you see problems with this let me know, if you like it, let me know. Basically if there's a good amount of people who like this idea, i'll start doing it. So speak on!

Hello fellow members and people who want to be members!
So the end of semester is upon us, and i'm not sure how it's treating you guys, but it's sure kicking my arse. So, just a heads up but if you have any issues, or you want to join NK, please be a bit more patient as my RL studies are taking a bit more priority as of late. It may take me a few more days to check out potential members and carry out other NK business. So please bear with me until April 6th, when things should be much less hectic for me.

I'd like to state that if you wish to join this community, and you have a journal with little or no posts in it you WILL be denied. Automatically.
however... there is a way around this. Contact myself or the other mod and if you can explain to our satisfaction why you don't have any entries, and why you would want to join then you'll be in. you can find our contact info on the info page of Naughty_knotty right here.
I've been seeing way too many journals trying to join that have only been around for a few months, with no personal entries, a few comments posted (none recieved), a few other nudie communities (or way to many), and very little friends, or alot of friends who are also in many nudie communities. All these are warning signs to us mods (or at least to this mod). Since the fusking episode we've adopted a slightly more strict guideline to letting people in. This is due to the nature of this community. Sure everyone is new to LJ at one point or another, but those who would abuse this community ruin it for those honest folk who actually are new to LJ, and do have a real apprecation for dreads... and nudeity. :)
So achildofthe80s and ethan_couch, if you'd like to be reconsidered, contact a mod.
If any member thinks this is too harsh or strict, please let me know in a comment, drop me a comment on my personal journal or e-mail me.

Ok guys, i went through the memberlist and removed all those with lines through their names. So if you can't read this community anymore, well leave a comment on this post and i'll re-instate you.
Also since the fusking episode with Kacie's Account, we've lost the photos in the profile for Naughty_Knotty. And wanting to fix this we have to routes we can go. We can get more photo type thingers, or we can just put text in. Now if we go the photo route we're going to need some photos. We can either use only one or have a few. BUt what i'm asking is if anyone here would like to donate a photo or two to this cause. So if you have a photo you like, or that the community really liked maybe consider submitting it. If you do consider submitting one, it should be racy, but no nudity as this photo will be in the profile and it WILL be public.

You MUST have an established journal to join this community. If you do not have entries in your journal, you WILL be rejected outright. Also, if your journal is only a few weeks old and all the entries are friends only, i will request you to add me to your friends list so i can see that the entries are real. Also if i see that you have no entries but one of your friends is from GUDU/or Naughty_Knotty, i will ask them about the journal. This is a community for real people who have a real apprication for dread-headed nudity/dreads.
and we (The Mods) intend on keeping it that way. :)

Please refer to the rules and regulations of this community to gain membership. We do not allow recently created accounts to join, unless of course you have sufficient biographical information and entries in your journal. Also we require you to have a birthdate that makes you 18 or older on the day you join.
Please reapply to the community when you have reviewed our rules and regulations and have met all of them. Or when you have contacted a moderator of this community and explained your situation.

another co-mod post.
for the people wanting in the community: seriously, put your birthdate in your userinfo. it helps immensely.
there are three or four people still on the 'pending members' list, a couple of whom have been there for (probably) pushing two weeks. if those people don't have their birthdates on their info page within the next week, i'm gonna disapprove your membership and you'll have to try again.
also, people who have new journals/no entries and do not have a birthdate in their userinfos will automatically be declined. i, honestly, just now disapproved four people with new journals; it's a bit frustrating not being able to comment and remind you what needs to be done.
add your bdays, and try again.
