New Native LiveJournal [09 May 2005|04:03pm]

[ mood | amused ]

Hi Folks!

Just a heads up that I'll be posting updates to my [info]nativecomic journal from now on, so if you don't regularly watch the site's news page, you'll be able to keep an eye on it through LiveJournal (I promise I'll do a much better job posting about it there than I have here).

Posts won't be too frequent - once a week at the MOST - so it won't fill up your friends' page.

Feel free to use this community for discussion on the book, but I'm going to take the link off the website until the book is done. Seems silly to invite you guys to discuss something you haven't seen more than glimpses of yet. ;)

Native Trading Cards released! [08 Mar 2005|11:50pm]

nefermoon
Hi Guys!

It's been a while since I've updated this community, but there have been a couple additions to the website. Namely, a new preview page, and the Online Exclusives shop, which sells items not associated with Cafepress (don't worry, the Cafepress store is still there).

The first item up for sale in the Exclusives shop is the newly-released Native Trading Cards. Wave 1 is a pack of 7 cards, featuring full-color artwork on the front and secondary images and fun facts on the back in black and white.

Future packs of cards are already in the works, so begin your collection today! Once these packs of Wave 1 are gone, they're gone!

I will be selling any remaining loose cards later on, but to make sure you get all the cards, pick up a full pack today!

If you're interested in what's up with Native, or you just like getting email, you might be interested in signing up for my e-newsletter.

It's a once-monthly newsletter, generally talking about anything related to Native, but more specifically would include information on the book's process, the website, and the Cafepress shop (including coupon codes).

If you REALLY like Native, and have a mailbox in North America, you might also be interested in joining the "Friends of Native" mailing list. Over the months, you'll receive little treats in the mail, such as Native postcards, stickers, or other stuff, some even exclusive! There's a New Member kit that each new member will receive, and if you include your birthdate with your sign-up info, you'll even get a special greeting from the cast of characters on your special day!

The Friends of Native mailing list is for residents of North America only. But everyone with an email account can join the E-newsletter!

Hi Group!

Been a while since the last update, but the site now has two new preview pages, and two new pieces of art. One of which I'd like to share now with my season's greetings!

Hope all your holidays were merry!

Also, I've begun working on the first Email Newsletter for Native. If you're interested in signing up, there's an email form in the latest "News" update (along with information on joining my old-fashioned mailing list).

Native website update! [10 Sep 2004|01:27pm]

If you visit the Novel section of the site, you can now see a preview of the final cover design for Native! I'm very happy with the design, and it shows!

It's all over the cafepress shop, which has just gotten a facelift. I opted for the premium service with Cafepress, so now multiple designs can be featured on the same product. Go take a look!

As always, if there's a certain image you want on a certain product, let me know!

And now, back to work on the pages! :)

Cafepress shop is open! [19 Jul 2004|02:00pm]

Hi guys!

Now that I've completed the poster I've talked about recently, the Cafepress shop is open to the public.

As I work through the rest of the book, I'll sporadically take a break to create a new piece of artwork to include on products through the shop. Other artists, including Matt Jay of Bonepumpkin.com, and Leona Preston (::waves to Leo::) will also have images featured on products on the site.

Also, please notice that there is a collectible series of tile coasters being offered! The image will change on the coaster every so often, and the previous images will never be offered again. It's a great way to get a limited edition, collectible bit of the Native world for your own home!

Now that you can see the kinds of products Cafepress prints on (not included in the store are several other shirt styles, underwear, mugs and bags), feel free to request a certain image on a certain product (even if the image doesn't exist yet!).

Thanks for your support folks!

Note - In my experience, Cafepress has had a great reputation for quality products and print jobs. If you ever experience negative results from my or any other Cafepress shop, please take advantage of their 30-day refund policy. If you do experience it at my shop, please let me know about it, specifically what was wrong! I can't afford to buy every product in my shop (though I've bought the journal, tested their books, and have plans to buy a few other things), so I may miss something that's either a result of my files or their products. Thanks!

(For reference, I've purchased and still own from the Cafepress shop: both the small and large coffee mugs, a mousepad, a thong(!), the journal, and poster print. A friend of mine purchased the baby bib, and I've bought for friends (but never saw - though I had good comments) t-shirts and ceramic ornaments.

Website Update! [11 Jun 2004|09:41am]

Hi folks! Been a bit since my last update, but yesterday made up for it.

Matt Jay, of http://www.bonepumpkin.com, has done three wonderful illustrations for the Native Cafepress shop (in addition to the one image of Talis that he did last year). One, which has been on the site for a few weeks already, will be the cover to the alternate limited edition version of the book (I will be doing the art for the common edition).

The second piece is a wonderful image of Skullduggery, which you can see in the art gallery on the site.

The third piece is a Yu'Nyun profile bust, which is not up on the site just yet, but will be later today.

I have a poster design to finish for the store, and then I will open up the Cafepress shop, hopefully middle of next week.

Also, a new preview page has been added to the "Novel" section, so go take a look!

Thanks for your interest, everyone! Suggestions and comments are appreciated!

Hi everyone, as it says on the site, you can now view Matt Jay's wonderful cover illustration, which will be available on a limited-edition run of the Native book.

I have a break from working on pages now, and hope to come up with some new art to put on Cafepress products, and to flesh out the gallery with a bit.

Hi everyone.

I lurk on yerf and came across Kohali's previews for Native. Wow! I'm already hooked. Looks like it is going to be a great story. Can't wait to experience it.

Hi folks.

I uploaded the next two pages of the preview. I uploaded two rather than one, which I forgot wasn't necessary (pages 1 and 2 were a natural pairing), but you benefit from my whoopsiedaisy.

In the meantime, enjoy the next installment!

Heh heh... Yes, did I forget to mention? No new preview pages until I have proof that anyone looked at the first. :P

I may add a feedback form to each page so people can tell me what they think.

I had a forum started under construction, but thought LiveJournal might feel more comfortable for folks.

So echo back, let me know you're out there. :) I need some motivation to keep this book moving.

Huge thanks to [info]leopreston, who gave me the kick I needed to finish the Native website and open it up today.

With that, I now make the first post to the Native LJ community!

I'd love feedback from folks about the site, the information it contains, and the preview pages that are currently online.

Also, if you're familiar with the products at Cafepress, I'm taking requests into consideration as I design merchandise there.

Thanks for your interest, and welcome!
