AboutThis community has the purpose to discuss the Manga "Naruto" in a serious way among grown-up persons who are old enough to have children the age of the Manga's heroes. The purpose is not to swoon for twelve-year-old kids (except saying "oh, how cute are they!") and not to fall in love with them, realizing that they are still too young for it, but to seriously discuss their psychology, their motivations, the deeper meaning of the manga - well, and sometimes perhaps make some jokes about Sasuke's open shirt.

Rules
Being human, we love it if people compliment us and agree to us. Still we would think that we are doing something wrong if we no longer get any comments that disagree to our opinions. We will try to answer them rationally, using arguments to defend our own opinion, and sometimes, when your arguments are good, we will even change our own opinions. Rational criticism will make us happy and will also make us consider inviting you to join. So we want to encourage you to do your best and criticize us as intelligently as you can.

eowyn_unquendor and myself created this community, it was mostly to have fun among ourselves and spare our respective f-lists our discussions of Naruto. After some time however, I grew vain and wanted my chapter reviews to be read by a wider audience (thanks go to zapenstap whose essays at ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small}
chuunin encouraged me to post my own essays), which meant that we got a wider audience, for our own chapter reviews, for the essays, but also for the fanservice we offer (mostly for Sasuke-fangirls). We were a bit insecure what to do about membership. We have been active on forums and at LJ for quite some time, and we both had our share of internet drama (
eowyn_unquendor is better at avoiding it than I am) and we wanted to avoid it. Also, we don't have any rules. We are friends, and we trust each other to behave. So at first we were rather careful and distrusting, but now we have become more open and invited some people to our community. So this is how to become a member: You write a lot of comments, avoid drama (neither begin it, nor add to it) and after some time we will invite you to join. The other way is that you comment a lot, avoid drama, and if you think you want to contribute something you apply for membership.
We don't expect you to agree to everything we say, but if you disagree you should do it in a polite and rational manner, and also, you should not feel insulted if we don't change our opinion just because you contradict us. We are however ready to listen to well-founded arguments.
We have considered setting the community to "closed membership", but at the moment I feel reluctant to do so because it makes it easier to apply when we have decided to invite someone.
