Spoilers: This takes place during 1-4 (Turnabout Goodbyes). The only spoiler is the identity of the defendant, but in this case that's a fairly big spoiler. The fic assumes a knowledge of the basic premise of 1-4.
Author's Notes: This is my first bit of Ace Attorney fiction that I'm actually sharing, and I'm sort of embarrassed that it's so short. But it's the first in a series of connected stories, which in my head I've been referring to as "Miles Edgeworth is a Complicated Man." Normally I don't like to start posting things before they're finished, as there's always the very good chance that I won't actually finish it, but all of the fics in this series can be read standalone. I don't know why I'm telling you this, but there you go. And I think this Author's Note might be longer than the fic. Oops.
