Writo De Mayo
It's time to sign up for Writo De Mayo.

Okay, you don't have to decide right now if you're going to do this, but if you've decided to take the plunge this is the 'official' sign up post :)

Writo De Mayo is a brand new, month long, NaNoLJers writing challenge. In this challenge you set your writing goal for the month of May and we help cheer you toward the finish line. You can take a page out of the NaNoWriMo book and chose 50,000 words as your goal, you can emulate NaNoEdMo and decide to revise your last NaNo novel, you can set a page count goal, submission goal or anything else you want. The sky is the limit. This is your challenge, pick one that won't be too easy to accomplish, but don't make it impossible either. The idea is to challenge yourself, not have a cakewalk or set yourself up for failure.

You sign up by commenting on this post to say you're joining up and stating what your goal is. If you're not sure what your goal is going to be, you can sign up and reply to your initial comment with your goal once you've figured it out :)

I will link to this post from the NaNoLJers community page, in case you need to see it, and will toss up a link in a post now and then until May.

Once May arrives we will run posts similar to how we do in November. Once a day I'll post a progress report page and that is where we will all update on how we are doing, as well as share excerpts and the like if we want.

There are 31 days in May, let's fill them with writing :)

I'm signing up, still have to figure out what kind of goal I want to set yet. At least I know what I'm working on (the start of my Nano novel I only got 7k or so written).

My Writo de Mayo goal is going to be to write 31 stories or poems, each inspired by a different image.

I want to do this! I'm going to do a combo of NaNoWriMo and NaNoEdMo and do two things: finish my Nano and edit it. I'll put my final word count around 60,000 so I can add fresh material.

I will be editing my NaNo novel during May (I've learned so much from my story making class that I want to add it in).

I want to go for this, but I think I'll set myself a small goal as I have to revise for exams in June. 200 words a day should be doable, and with that sort of target I might actually get something written for once :-)

There's two things I'll probably do. I want to start a new story and I'll write some chapters for my new story. It'll be tough, but... oh well, hopefully it'll be fun.

I'm signing up, and I'll be writing a 31 word story.

Okay, in addition to that (yes, I really am going to do it :P) I'll have another goal. I just haven't figured out what I want it to be yet ^_~

So far the poll on my LJ indicates people think I should to a short story a day based on writing prompts. Wish me luck!

I'm definitley singing up for this. I finish school at the end of this month, so I won't have any giant commitments to distract me from writing during May at all. As for my goal? I'll make it 30k.

I'll go for it. Cos I know May is filled with birthdays, school holidays etc I'm just going to aim for 30k but hopefully more.

I'm going to go for it! And, hmm. Tough to think of a goal since May is the time I might start school. >__< But, I'm going to go with dobbin477, the traditional 50,000 words for me!

I'm working on Script Frenzy right now, and really ought to be revising it in May. But! I love the idea of starting a completely new project. I'm going to go with 30k :D

I will do the 50,000 word set as the initial goal never done nanowrimo. Have lots of old ideas but most likely will be "born under a pseudosky" which was an idea about a cult that lived underground after armageddon.

Plus I finish my contract at end of this month and have no job currently lined up, so I might have a wee bit of spare time.

Wooo! Yay! Why not. Count me in. Expect exerts. The crazy sci-fi vampire story that I did for NaNoWriMo is still not finished. Uh, I'm thinking about 2000 words a day, though that may be an average since people keep finding work for me to do. Or, if it's going well I might try 3333 words a day like i did in NaNo. Or maybe just 2000 words. I'm in anyway.

Ooh, so exciting!

Well...I really need to edit my Nano novel from 2007. I also want to write a couple of screenplays and finish my play.

Huh. Well, I'll sign up now and decide later!

I'm signing up. I'm going to be aiming for the traditional 50,000 words, and at least two complete short stories at around 5000 words each. ^.^ Can't wait.

I think I'm going to aim for one short fiction story a day, of (approx) 1,000 to 4,000 words.

It might seem easy to some of you, but to me (procrastinator/lazy bones) it's quite the goal.

I think that's an ambitious goal and I look forward to cheering you on.

I think writing 30 different 1,000 word stories would be profoundly more difficult than writing 30,000 words on one.

Good luck :)

I'm gonna shoot for 500 words a day and a total of 15,500, by the end of the month. That seems like an attainable goal that I can be proud of. Let's do this thing. =^.^=

Signing up. My goal is to write 500 words per day. However, if RL (work, that is) should intrude, I may have to revise the goal or sign out altogether, so I apologize in advance.

No need to apologize. It's better to try and fail than not try at all.

Gah, I don't even like the word fail in that sentence, but you know what I mean ;)
