[One-Shot] Death Note Drabbles
Answers for this challenge.
#1
Characters/Pairing: Yagami Light, L/None
Rating: PG?G?
Words: 461
Prompt: #001 - One Second
Notes: 2ND MOVIE SPOILERS. Like seriously.
“It’s almost time. Would you please let me alone?”
Yagami Soichiro was silent for a moment. A few words were then exchanged and the CPA chief left the room, leaving Ryuuzaki – Leaving L – alone.
20 days had passed since Kira – since Yagami Light – had been defeated. 23 days had passed since L Lawliet himself had written his own name on the Death Note. In a few seconds, the time would come.
What a silly way to die, he thought. For the sole purpose of catching Kira, he had given up his life. Indeed, he laughed inwardly, such a silly, depressing way to die. It was so silly he almost couldn’t believe it. And yet, all he could do now was wait patiently for those few seconds to pass, painfully slowly and yet so fast at the same time.
And there he was, playing chess with himself and eating a chocolate bar as he waited. While waiting, the young detective thought about quite a lot. He thought about the note, the shinigami, Misora Naomi, Amane Misa, the CPA agents. He thought about the most interesting cases between all those he had solved. He thought about the sweets he loved the most. He thought about his sleeping-hours – or lack thereof -, and pouted. If he knew he would die this early, he would have slept less. At least then, he could have been able to enjoy his life a little more(and eat more sweets). He thought about Wammy’s and then about Watari. It was really sad thinking that Watari was gone. If he wasn’t, L would have asked him to spend his last moments with him. Playing chess, maybe.
But even so, in one second, in that very last second, the face which came to his mind was nobody’s but Light-kun’s. Light-kun, who had been such a gifted person: smart, good-looking and with such a great sense of justice. Light-kun, who had had such an unfortunate fate, having found that murderous notebook. Light-kun, who had outwitted him so many times, with whom he could have pretty much any type of conversation; who had pretty much the same opinion as him about so many things.
L’s expression saddened a little. Had they met in any other circumstances, it was certain that they could have become quite good friends. L regretted it a little; he would have loved to be friends with the teen.
And then, Light-kun’s smiling face slowly began to fade away, and he felt his eyes closing on their own. He tried to bite the chocolate bar one last time, but his arms and hands didn’t have the strength to more anymore.
Well, he thought as sleepiness won him over, I suppose that’s it.
And then, the chocolate fell to the couch.

Prompt: #002 - May I Kiss You?
Notes: ...I SWEAR I didn't choose the prompt.
Seven days had passed since Ryuuzaki(or Ryuuga, or L, whatever) had chained himself to Yagami Light, the one he suspected the most of being Kira. By now, the teen was already quite used to the handcuffs and to being with the detective 24/7. He even enjoyed the other’s company quite a bit, never mind his odd behavior and the ever so sickening sweet tooth. If there was one thing he did not, by any means, like about Ryuuzaki, though, that would be his constant and never ending mind games.
He did understand that him being suspected of being a serial killer made the young detective act extra careful around him, but he seriously wished the other would just stop with those silly games of his already. They were tiring, confusing and, above all, annoying. They confused him like hell and he was reaching a point where he couldn’t tell if the other was serious or just playing anymore.
Which is why he froze upon hearing the other’s utterly random and apparently innocent request.
“Say, Light-kun, may I kiss you?” Ryuuzaki’s voice was in its usual bored tone, and Light had to blink a few times to process the words.
“…What are you planning, Ryuuzaki?” He sighed, annoyed. “How will requesting something like this help you determine whether or not I’m Kira?”
Ryuuzaki stared at him for long 60 seconds, his big dark eyes flickering slightly with what Light assumed was amusement. “Nothing.” He said finally, “I just feel like doing it.”
Light couldn’t believe it.
“Well?” Came the coaxing, and the teen paused for a moment. He could not see why the other would feel like doing that, with him of all people, and no, he was definitely not willing to try and see. Deciding it was just another sick joke of Ryuuzaki’s, Light promptly declined the request, asking that the other stopped the nonsense already.
Ryuuzaki kissed him anyways, though, and Light figured he would just let him do whatever, as it would be too much trouble bothering to push him away.

Prompt: #004 - Four Seasons
Notes: Anime/Manga spoilers...Probably.
Four seasons had passed since his most daring plan had unfolded. Four seasons since he had gotten rid of his rival, of his enemy. Four seasons since he had successfully silenced Ryuuzaki—no, since he had silenced L.
Four seasons since he had won.
He still remembered clearly the overflowing emotion, that feeling of uncontrollable joy, glory, satisfaction that coursed through his veins as he held the other man in his arms, as he saw his eyes widen in horror, in fear, at the realization that he was about to die, and then close slowly, beautiful orbs almost darker than black. He still remembered clearly everything he had had to go through because of the detective, the damn detective. But he had outwitted him and the bastard, the loser was now dead. He had won; beaten the greatest detective in the world, and couldn’t help but smirk as the thought flashed through his mind.
Four seasons had passed since everything had happened.
And now he was both Kira and L, pretending to continue the investigations on the Kira case while resuming the killings. And God, he was so bored. There was no threat, no thrill, nothing to be careful about anymore. There was nothing, there was no one to play with him and make things more interesting. There was no L.
Four seasons since he had won. Four seasons since he had successfully silenced L.
Four seasons since he had oddly started to feel disturbingly empty inside.

Characters/Pairing: Yagami Light, L/None
Rating: PG?G?
Words: 178
Prompt: 009 - In The End
Notes: Anime spoilers...Probably.
“So sad, isn’t it? It’s nearly time for us to say good-bye.”
When L made that statement, he had fully meant it. He had been certain that the “13-day rule” was fake, and that they’d be able to confirm his suspicious and finally arrest Yagami Light. He had been sure about his victory, he had been sure there was nothing to worry about, that Kira – that Light-kun – wouldn’t be able to kill him given the circumstances. He had won and it was a matter of time until he would be able to state so out loud.
There was no mistake; he was positive about it.
In the end, although they did bid farewell, it was slightly different from what he had imagined. Because he had not predicted that the one to perish would be himself instead of Light-kun; that he would be the one with wide eyes filled with panic as his killer held him tight in pretense, allowing only him to see the ever so wide, full bloom smirk that gradually made its way to his lips.
