So, I've been battling a bit of the blues and other stuff - so I turned to playing with Photoshop. I have a great tutorial I've made into a PDF from MacMerc.com, the Frank Miller Sin City Effect. While I didn't do every single step, I used some of them.

If anybody is still hanging out here, here are the results. After the LJ Cut, of course. I've also included icons of the larger pieces.

Бывает, не видишься с другом полгода, а потом при встрече не знаешь, что и ответить на расспросы «что нового?». Не потому, что ничего не случилось, отнюдь. Просто в пару фраз не сложить рассказ о том, как круто изменилась жизнь.

Жизнь изменилась.

Но ты все тот же.
Такой же вечно во всем сомневающийся, бесконечно копающийся в себе, чересчур обидчивый и отчаянно убежденный в совершенстве мира. Не в силу своего возраста, в силу характера, скорее. Ты как та маленькая собачка, что до старости щенок. По жизни романтик, легко ранимый и безнадежный мечтатель.
Хоть ты уже и живешь один, работаешь, учишься и самостоятельно принимаешь решения, в душе ты все равно ребенок, не смотря ни на что. Поздно ночью возвращаясь с работы, любуешься звездным небом, стоя на перекрестке, пока машины сзади раздраженно не станут сигналить тебе. Все так же ревешь в кинотеатре, даже когда смотришь мультфильмы. Бывает, что забываешь ключи в машине с заведенным двигателем, так что приходится вызывать спасателей и вскрывать машину через окно. Наивно доверяешь всем подряд, а потом искренне разочаруешься, когда люди нечестны к тебе.

Друзья говорят, что ты повзрослеешь, и с годами исчезнут те невидимые розовые очки, что ты носишь каждый день и сквозь линзы которых ты смотришь на мир. Кто знает, может и вправду. Поживем, увидим :)

P.S. 1 сентября лечу в Москву. Буду рада увидеть старых друзей.

I've made a few friends but am still bored. I have a few people interested in the apartment, but no roommate. I bought a nice coffee maker but water smells funny when I brew it.

Life down here is still a lot better than UA. Insects down here frighten me, though. I can swear a gnat was trying to bite me.

Hung up my favorite curtains today; the ones I got from Target a year ago and was waiting to open them for a special occasion. They're so awesome.

My 2 non-dance classes make me think of NaNoWriMo. The english class prof swears by writing whatever comes into your head, which was what I did for last years Nano. The history class is about Islamic civilization, and anything about the middle east reminds me of my planet Gura, which is my subject for Nano this year. I'M SO EXCITED FOR OCTOBER 31ST!

Dang it, I hate late afternoon. Makes me so tired. This is usually the time of day when I sleep, watch tv, or waste time online. I don't want to do either of those, so what DO I do?

4) I understand that bringing kids is a trouble. I dunno how long have you been on the train. But come on, you should have said that long ago. Why wait till the the last 2 stations and you are still ranting? Hello!!! dhoby ghaut to orchard? 2-3 stations? well, i'm guessing he had a bad day at work too.
5) If i were to help,
     - the lady on mp3 will probably kill me if i ask her to give up her seat to the angmoh?
