Okay, I was wondering...

If the Screen Actors Guild actually goes on strike, does that mean none of the SAG members can work until the strike is over, cuz Jamie is  SAG member...so no MB????

Thoughts?

I'd have to think that he could still work as long as he just works on the regular show and doesn't do any extracurricular activities, like cameos on CSI.

I think it would mean no actual filming of SAG members during the strike. Which probably wouldn't affect the show too much, considering most segments are filmed over time and edited together. He'd still be able to build projects and test things, he just couldn't be filmed doing it.

Jamie is a SAG member as a puppeteer, so it might not affect him at all.
And.. geez, if he chose to go ahead and be filmed, who'd actually have the balls to go up to JAMIE and say "You're a scab"?

I wouldn't, specially if he's holding a .50 caliber firearm :P

If he's asked to do what would normally be considered a SAG gig and they are officially on strike, he wouldn't do it. He'd be breaking with the union, which I doubt he'd do, I hear it takes a gripload of work to get the card in the first place. However, anything that has been filmed up to the start of the strike is fair game to the network because he did it before he was told to stop work by the Union.

I don't believe it matters if he's just a puppetteer or any other (lowly seeming) job within the Union, it's still Union approved, otherwise the person wouldn't have the card from them.

Author's note: I know wayyy too much about Unions in general to not have a couple cents to throw in, however, spare change being what it is, you can do what you will with the info. . .

Something else to consider: most television production is covered by AFTRA, not SAG. So production on the show probably wouldn't be affected unless AFTRA struck in support.

Yeah. Basically, if MB is a SAG gig, and Jamie is a SAG member, he'd be crossing the picket line if he kept filming. If the show's not covered by SAG, he's good to go.

As an example: I'm a member of the WGA. However, I work mostly in (daytime) animation, which is not generally covered by WGA agreements (primetime stuff is). So during the strike, I worked just like always, because all my jobs were covered by IATSE (the Cartoonists union), and hence weren't affected. If somebody had offered me a WGA job I would have a) had to turn it down and b) cried, because somebody finally offered me another WGA job at exactly the time I couldn't take it. :P And in my spare time I went out and picketed. It was a strange time.

However, during the writers' strike, there were exceptions for people who held multiple titles (writer/producer, etc.) Some of those people kept working in other capacities, and just didn't write anything then. I guess. The lines got awfully blurry.

Anyway, isn't Adam SAG too? I thought they both were.
