On thursday evening, I watched a document of this mysterious date. Many prophecies are ending in that day, Mayan calendar, I ching--- Merlin, Hopi Indians, Oracle of Delphoi and Sibylla... they all predicted that there is soon the end of world.

I wanted to make this one of our discussions; How do you feel about these "rumours"? What kind of Theories and Wild Thoughts and Ideas you've heard about this mysterious date? Do you believe in it? How it reflects in your life? Do you believe in the end of world? Is this only one fear more and just another end of the world prophesy? If it is coming, how do you think we should prepare ourselves for it? Is it end of planet or the end of human race? Is these end of the world theories only a mean to make us to fear the future? What if there have been a massive nature catastrophe in our past and we "remember" it as collective way and we are still afraid of it? How weshould react on these things?

"We change like seasons" is a beautiful quote (unfortunately I can't remember who said it) and I feel the cycles of nature, changing seasons inspiring and important in my life. So I want to ask:
What is your favourite season & why? How does seasons affect on you in a spiritual way? Do you celebrate the seasons somehow?

It's been ages since we posted any themes for conversations and actually the community seems to have been hibernating for a few months.. but today I feel inspired in making an attempt at reviving the spirit. :)

I've had a great need for soulful conversations these days.. a longing for connection so I want to ask:

What does connection mean to you? Connection to God/dess, Life Force, Web of Life? Connection to other living beings? Connection with people, groups, teachers? Connection with yourself? How do you find it and get aware of it? How do you keep it alive? Have you had times of disconnection and loneliness? How deep does a connection go at best or worse?

That's a bit complicated. I identify as pagan but only because that's the closest I can find to what I believe. Don't get me wrong. I love paganism and feel very connected to the God and Goddess. But a lot of what I believe I haven't found in any religion. It's kind of long so I'll put it behind a cut.

<lj-cut text="My beliefs">First let me say that I believe in the same things that many pagans do. Reincarnation, the gods, etc. I feel very connected to nature and Gaia is my patron goddess. But there are things which are accepted under paganism but as far as I know it's not a part of any pagan religion. If I'm wrong, PLEASE let me know!

This is hard to put into words but I'll try.

I believe that Earth is a part of one of many realms. Some are large and some are small. In the other realms you can find all manner of entities, including those found in our mythologies and legends. Some realms are like ours in ways and others are vastly different. Also, you can find humans in other realms as well. Whatever form you take in your first life will be the form your soul takes in all other incarnations, even if they're in another realm and of another species. For example, lets say a person has their first life in a realm that has elves. They live that life as an elf. In their next life they might come here and be a human. However, their soul is still that of an elf and will always be that. It's very similar to what those who believe in otherkin believe. As a matter of fact, the few I've talked to about this and who also felt the same way identified as otherkin.

The realms don't touch or overlap. The space between the realms is the void. A place where no laws of physics or nature exist. Anything that winds up in the void is lost for eternity. So to travel from one realm to another one must go through a gate of some sort. The gates act almost like wormholes (for lack of a better description) and are the only safe way to get passed the void. They're like portals, leading from one realm to another.

There are many entities that can travel from one realm to another. Earth is sort of like Grand Central Station as far as gates go. Many entities will travel here through on gate and quickly leave through another, trying to get to wherever they're going. Some come here and stay too for whatever reason. I know this because I'm not the only one who has sensed them.

There's also another take on creation that I have. I like learning about different creation "myths" because they all have a similar feel. This one deals with the realms.

First there was Chaos. Up was down, left was right, and nothing existed. Just the void. Eventually Chaos began to take on a personality of Its own. It began to feel and desire change. It began to take on a feminine persona as well. I'm not sure how it came about but eventually Chaos created the first of the realms. The Realm of Neutrality. She not only created the realm but the creatures who lived within it. As all things tend to do, these creatures began to become spiritual. After many eons they grew to such a state that they transended. Their Goddess was Chaos but eventually they became gods themselves. They then created the next two realms. The Realm of Light (whose creatures are the ancestors of angels) and the Realm of Darkness (whose creatures are the ancestors of both dragons and deamons).

Eons passed and the creatures of Light and Darkness achieved the same level of spirituality that the creatures of Neutrality had achieved. Soon other realms were created. Eventually there were so many realms that a Council was created to oversee them. They began to group the realms. At first they were in groups of three, after the first three original ones. After a while they had to change that. Now there are thousands of realms in a group. There are councils that oversee the groups and the Great Council that oversees everything.

Earth is probably in the 3000th or so group. And there are more after us. Just to give you an idea of how many realms now exist. Here we don't know about every type of being that exists throughout all of these. But we do know a few. Creatures found in mythology do exist...somewhere.

Just like there is a Great Council and group councils...there is someting similar in the realm as well. Either beings or gods who oversee what happens to their realm and those within it.

Well that's the basics. It's hard to explain why I believe what I do. But I know it to be true. If anyone else believes something similar I would love to hear it.</lj-cut>

I love talking about all types of spirituality and different beliefs. I believe that there is a certain amount of truth in all of them, even if they conflict. I used to hang out at a coffee shop that was frequented by all sorts of spiritual and metaphysical people. It closed down years ago and then I moved. Where I live now I don't know many people and haven't been able to talk about spiritual matters much. I miss the in depth conversations I used to have at that coffee shop.

Yes. I love meeting new people. I should warn you that my journal is a little strange at the moment. It's not my usual journal (I'll give that to those who I get to know well if they ask). Anyone who is interested can friend me. :)

okay, I have noticed all kinds of changes going on this winter. Not just in me, but overall.

- spate of deaths of friends and friends' friends in January, now there was far too much of this to be co-incidence (in which I dont believe anyway). I couldnt help but think this was actually a meta-soulgroup moving on. I was sad to loose a friend, and sad for other friends who lost people, but I do think that this is a "meant to be", and that no-one is truly "lost" anyway.
- career changes now mine has been on the change from a shop job (bleaugh) to teaching (wheee) over the past year. Basically I was breaking my heart at Jessops, but too bone idle to do more than cry about it. When the company went into the red and we all thought we were going to loose our jobs, that prompted me to look for other jobs, apply for the teaching drama one, and on the back of getting in there, start in on doing my teacher training. A lot of people I know, are being kinda "forced" by events to seek jobs/careers anew. Lost jobs or being terribly unhappy at them, prompting them to seek new and better jobs, which of course in the Earth realm is all another opportunity to experince, and grow personally. However traumatic the change is.
- new understandings I have changed spiritually a great deal over the past year, and thats held a few changes in me, and still throws up suprises and new understandings. a lot of other people I know have also changed spiritually as well.
-ending of old friendships and new ones seeding. I know that I have drifted away from some old friends, and at the same time am forging new ones, just seedling ones. For example, more (sincere and interesting) new penpals have come out of the woodwork this month than in the entire 4 months before. Several of my ongoing friends say the same is happening to them. This isnt the ending of old friendships in a nasty way, this is just a mutual "moving on" along divergant paths.

I have also noticed a change in nature. When Mum and I moved here 10 years ago, there were no garden birds at all. Now in the past year or so there are redstarts, sparrows, robins, blackbirds, tits, all sorts, as well as the obvious seagulls. Skylarks have returned to the fields as well.... While so much bad IS happening, theres a lot of changes, and not all of them bad at all.

And at the end of this life, I now know there will be another change - in what world I reside in (see previous post).

Its as if the changes are gathering pace. Now I can often wish for something (like an opportunity to apply for a dream job, which has just popped up) and it will come within weeks. Years ago that used to take years, if at all. Powers to manefiest are getting stronger I think. Just be sure you concentrate on manefiesting postive stuff. You have the power to do either. Its obvious which is more comfy, even without thinking of wider planetary, spiritual and karmic issues!
Changes can be unsettling, in fact they are, but I think of the natural ones such as the ones I describe above, they are to be celebrated. I think the vast majority are positive, although, as with anything, its your choice as to weather you surf that change to where its taking you, or wriggle and struggle and get hurt and even more upset and hold yourself up on your souls evolution.

well, i call myself "spiritual." i believe that the universe dictates my destiny. i believe that life is in the right always. it'll never throw me anything i can't handle. i believe everything happens for a reason. in every experience there is a blessing or a lesson to learn. i believe in reincarnation, and soulmates, and kindred spirits, and i believe in masculine and feminine energy.

my interests are wide and varied. i like to read (a lot of metaphysical/spiritual books with some fiction and such thrown in:)). i love to paint and do other crafts. i believe in being kind to the earth, so i spend a lot of time dicussing and hyping ecofriendliness. i would love to discuss anything spiritual. i'm interested in tarot cards, past life regressions, spiritual ceremonies, magic, meditation, etc. i also do pilates and walk a lot with my new baby girl:)

I usually self-identify as a pagan, though more and more I seem to feel I'm an itinerant mystic. I'm more concerned with divine communion than with whether or not I'm considered pagan, wiccan, or christian. I'm sort of an...urban shaman, itinerant priestess, mystic community builder, shrine building, pagan renunciate. Does that even make sense??? *laugh*

I have been asked to organise a winter solstice ritual for a small eclectic group (I have to have the ritual outlines in a week), we are looking at how the various rituals are celebrated in different traditions, and I have decided to look at the Egyptian tradition, with the rebirth of Osiris. However, I am now slightly stuck, even with the excellent google, on finding appropriate stuff for honouring the rebirth of Osiris in particular.. Any ideas most gratefully recieved..?

Hallo all (I believe this might be the first time I'm actually posting an entry of my own here...)

I was wondering if anyone might have any insight into Grandmother Spider/Arachne/etc. and Samhain. See, I have this banana spider that's been quite contentedly webbed beside my back door for almost the whole month. She's shed one skin that's stayed on her web, and I believe I've seen a male or two trying to get her attention. She's really beautiful. So, I was wondering if, well, anything jumps out at you or whatnot. I've this feeling that the spider is trying to tell me something but so far I've been too sense-dimmed to hear it. Fall is not my best time.

I apology that I haven't been around. My computer was dead almost three months and I had busy time to leave my previous job to find a new one. So I started my new work couple of weeks ago and my computer is again working, so I am back to business.

Question number 13; When you are spiritual person, do you believe that you are already been spiritual being or do you think we grow to be spiritual beings? Do you think that those who are "new-comers", should study about spirituality or does the life teach you to be a spiritual being? So cat is on the table. Tell me, please.

I myself believe that it is both. Some of us may born having "contact" better with their spiritual selves than the others, but some people will grow to that during their lives. I belive that God is close to everyone, we just need to find the connection between our body, mind and spirit.

It helps to study things, but I also think that plenty of spiritual stuff is pure instinct and intuition.

Hi, all. My answer to q #2 is only a little tongue in cheek. I am definitely male, though often dream of myself as female & have unusual interests - not overtly masculine or feminine. I don't date or have long friendships because sensitivity to group mind prevents social interaction. I am interested in religion, history & philosophy as a general 'top-level' topic, and am willing to calmly discuss anything with anyone, but quirkiness of character prevents me from committing to any firm system - see previous statement. I believe in reincarnation & spiritual realms but also that the best way to perceive & know them is based in having a sound mind & body.

Balancing Act

Hi all,

Does anyone know of meditations/rituals/ways in which to balance your chakras? I got a psychic reading last night, and the reader --who was dead-on accurate in the other things she'd said-- told me that my chakras were really imbalanced and my aura was gray, which seems to make sense because I've been experiencing depression, fatigue, panic attacks, existential crises, and a general lack of mental clarity and direction this summer.

The thing is, she offered to do it for me, via some kind of candleburning ritual, but it's pretty expensive (originally $100, but she offered to do it for $50 because I told her my money's been a bit tight recently. Half the price is for her services, the other half for supplies ) Now, I'm not sure if this would help me or if it's just a scam, so I would like to at least explore my other options before making a decision. I have tried crystal techniques before but they've had limited success. If anybody can be of assistance with DIY chakra-balancing methods, I'd much appreciate it. Thanks! (And please pardon me if I seem like a gullible moron for buying into this, I believe in this kind of stuff but only when it agrees with my own sense of reason. I just need some second opinions.)

Evolution of healer?

When I was in college, I used to just know where it hurts and why. I somehow became empathic during the period of college. and one day i was at a job i had no business being there and I kept cracking my neck. i looked over to the left of me and a girl was sitting there, I told her not to move. And held her neck. and felt the pain leaving through my hands. I got severly depressed in the 6 months since I graduated. and I knew something was wrong. but if im a healer i should be able to fix myself. but my depression was getting worse. I started to hear buzzing noises and seeing shadows whoosh by my peripherial vision. So I checked myself into the hospital. it took the psychiatrist a week to to figure out that I was bipolar. And I was trying to be tested for schizophrenia. but that costs 500 dollars and I have no insurance...so some genius decided they would have me fill out applications for medicaid while Im suicidal... the psychiatrist put me on Seriquil. and i moved to the place...where farmers don't believe in massages. Or Reiki...And now the buzzing noise sounds like people talking, and instead of shadows i've been seeing people who arent really there..It kind of frightens me. Because Im not used to seeing people, hear people laughing or disscussing things of great importance. And just the other day I saw this tall man, with long hair and a black trench coat so it was night so it looked like a head floating in the air. I was frightened. This used to happen when I was a child..And I tried telling adults about it, but they scolded me for it so I trained myself in to not seeing things. Before I I used to see Lions and I'm sure they could have hurted me if they wanted to. But they just let out a mighty roar. So I don't know what direction my path is going. Its just that I sought help for the things above and now I dont know if I should tell someone about this ore not. I feel fine. Im not as depressed as I was before. And I think the only reason Im hearing and seeing things in more clarity is because my mind isnt so noisy. Does anyone have any kind of advice.
