| Coldplay/Natasha - The Scientist |
[Oct. 29th, 2008|12:01 am] |
Hate it when a girl says to me that she loves me after barely knowing me. Cause that's so empty. Figure she says that all the time. I wanna earn it. Likewise a girlie has to earn it from me too.
In the song, this song, there's this line that goes, I set you apart. Figure that everyone wants someone that sets us apart. And I guess we all want that for ourselves too.
In other news, got drenched in the rain today.

Still in my head because they played a wonderful never-ending version of this song at their concert last night.
Never mind the wrong season.
A long December and there's reason to believe Maybe this year will be better than the last

| Christianne Girvan - Snowflake |

Something different!
OK, I know I'm breaking my own rules but I truly, honestly love this song by my friend Christianne and I think you will too. She said I could post it and the rationale behind the video is so you can hear the song; since she has no video, here's the whole song.
I ran into her tonight and she told me about a song she wrote and then she sent it off to me with these words:
A work in progress...hope you enjoy it! The inspiration for this song came from comments made to me walking the streets in Bedford Stuyvesant the neighborhood where I live in Brooklyn.
"Hey Snowflake! What 'cha doin on Arlington Place? You look like something on my frosted flakes!"

| Jaymay - Gray or Blue |
[May. 15th, 2008|12:31 am] |
Basically, saw her sing on Conan and fell in love with her voice. Bought her album immediately and, literally, every song there is a winner.
She and A Fine Frenzy are my two faves at the moment and it's hard to pick which lyrics I like the best from her. She's a native NYer and she sings what I think about the city.
My fave lines from this are:
Don't second-guess your feelings You were right from the start And I notice she's your lover But she's nowhere near your heart This city is for strangers Like the sky is for the stars But I think it's very dangerous If we do not take what's ours

i am sorting my music cds. and this song was on a country cd i got for some birthday. i don't know why anybody would give me a country cd for birthday. i never ever said i like country music. i do not really hate it. i am indifferent to it. anyway. this was the only song on the cd i liked. and there is no video clip to the song anywhere, that's why this widget. i think the original version is by david bowie. but i don't like david bowie's singing voice, well hate me. |

Genre: Adult Contemporary, Country For those of you that read me regularly, I'm pretty sure you can figure out which lines I like the most, but if not, they are: Again and again and again, Again and again and again, Again and again and again,
I think I will break but I mend.

| Katie Melua - Piece by Piece/Spider's Web |
[Mar. 12th, 2008|11:52 am] |
i heard the song about one year ago for the first time and it blew me away. i wasn't in love by then but still it went straight to my heart. however one or two weeks ago i re-found this song and keep listen to it on repeat. needless to say it works best when your heart is broken. one of the best love songs ever. "Cause your kiss Went deeper than my skin"
there is also a second song in this clip, which is good as well, "spider's web".
