Welcome to
mychemicalporn, a slut-fest community all about the yummy men of My Chemical Romance.
This community is about smut. The sole purpose of
mychemicalporn is all fanfics posted through here must have at least one graphic sex scene if it’s chaptered, and all standalones must contain detailed sexual content. But unlike some communities, this is not an all-slash forum. Het is also be welcomed here as well. So long as the het posted has a detailed sex scene.
However, because some people don’t care for het or slash then it will be required in the warning if the content is het or slash. Het being male/female (breeders), and slash being male/male. Femmslash, however (female/female), will not be allowed because there are no female members of My Chemical Romance. Significant others don’t count, no matter how much some may actually strive to make that the case.
The rules of het will apply the same as the rules of slash with one extra rule thrown in. No stories about any band member’s real life partners. That means no Mikey/Alicia, Gerard/Eliza, Frank/Jamia, Ray/Crysta, and Bob/???. The reason for this is out of respect to the band and their private lives. And it’s also illegal. In the People Vs. Larry Flint, it became legally acceptable to write fictional parodies about celebrities because it was cited as subjective humor and celebrities being public domain. This precedent-setting case is why there are tabloids to this day. However, this right does not apply to the family and friends of said celebrity in question, and fictional parodies or related content about these people can be sued over, and have been in the past. So leave their real life partners OUT. Show respect to their privacy.
As of June fth, 2007, this community will no longer accept direct posting of fanfic, only cross-posting from now on. You can cross-post through a writing journal or through another community. The only sort of cross-posting this community will accept from now on is direct linking back to an original LJ post.
However, your header will be rejected/removed if it comes from a locked personal journal or locked community. Only cross-posting from public journals will be allowed. We don’t tolerate blackmail here.
Header rules still apply. You are required to provide a header with your cross-posted link. No header, no approval.
Anything goes else goes here as far as smut is concerned. We allow all those kinky, dark, and just morbidly and shamefully wrong (but oh so right) forms of smut. Incest, pedophilia, rape, and Sadomasochism... et. Just make sure you provide such dark content as a warning in the header.
However, certain off-topic posts won't be accepted:
We're happy that you're a big fan and you're looking to meet some new fans, but let's stick to the topic of the community please.
That's pretty self-explanatory. Promtional posts are accepted so long as it's either about mcr or mcr-related fanfic or RPG communities. Any large images, cut them.
Icons, FO-banners, colorbars, et. There are plenty of communities for that.
Not the community for that.
I will try my best to run a community free of drama, that is warm, friendly, and very laid-back. It's time that fanfiction was made fun again.
No changing the font on the post, that include the type and the size. Leave it default, that includes the header. No messing with the font at all.
No messing with the alignment. The header is to stay on the default left side. No centering, no pushing it to the right. This goes for the fanfiction as well.
No flames or bashing. Constructive criticism is welcomed but try to point out the good with the bad. If you absolutely hate something, then just ignore it. There's no reason to stir up drama or intentionally hurt someone's feelings. Fanfiction is supposed to be fun.
This community will not accept summaries that are merely a sample of the story. You have to write a real summary. As in summarizing what it's about. I know summaries are difficult but any writer worth their salt will find a way to make a good one. Summaries are the single most important thing you can do for your story next to pairing. So do the best you can. Saying you suck at summaries is like advertising that your story will likely be just as worthless and lazy. Your summary is meant to SELL your fic to readers who have a LOT to choose from, and no salesman in the world would say any part of any product they're pushing sucks. That's just not smart business. Your fanfic is a product and if you want feedback, you gotta get their attention. Using a piece of the fic doesn't get anyone's attention. It just shows that you're too damned lazy to make an effort on describing it. Failure to provide an actual summary will result in your post being rejected.
Please provide a header with the title, pairing, rating, summary, disclaimer, and dedications if you wish to make them. Failure to follow a single guideline on your header means automatic rejection. Optional header parts will be in red.
Title, Author, Pairing, Summary, POV, Warnings, Disclaimer, Author's Notes (or A/N), and Dedications WILL be in boldface. Don't even think about submitting the post if they're not.
Title: No title, no deal. All stories must have a title, and I'm sorry but "Untitled" doesn't cut it. Also, provide the title in the subject. All posts will have a subject. No subject, no approval. If it's a chaptered fic, include the chapter number in the subject along with the title.
Author: username only, and it MUST be linked.
Pairing: This is where you put the pairing. No getting around this. Use their names, cute pairing conglomerations will not suffice.
POV: Important if your story is written in first person. Otherwise, you'll confuse readers. Only mandatory if your fic is written in first person.
Summary: A good summary is a very good assurance that you'll get people to check out your story. However, there's no need to write an essay. Straight and to the point. But actually make it a summary. Refrain from using a paragraph or piece of dialogue as your summary. Posts that have "I suck at summaries" will face rejection.
Author's Note: Any additional and important notes you wish to provide will go here and NOT within the story. Only required when you have notes to share on your fic. May be substituted with A/N or Notes.
Warnings: Considering the adult nature of this community, you will be required to post any warnings you may have about the content of your story, including if it's slash or het. If it's just garden-variety slash or het between consenting adults (or teens of the same age), then you need only provide that it's slash or het. However, if you have taboo content like rape, underage, pedophilia, incest (yes, the gerard/mikey stuff!) you will mention them here. If you feel that giving a warning about certain things like "rape" will be a spoiler, then you may substitute it for "violence" if you so prefer.
Dedications: You want to dedicate to someone, do so here. There's no need to dedicate your fic to every person who comments. If you appreciate their thoughts on it, then try just simply replying to them. It's a lot less trouble that way. This is the optional part of your header. Only optional when you wish to dedicate.
If you're writing a chaptered story, you MUST provide backlinks to each chapter. It's really inconvenient for readers to have to hunt down previous chapters themselves, and most won't really take the time to. If you have a memories link, or an outside post containing back chapters, this will be accepted. Please provide the link back to your memories or backlink post. Don't simply link a writing journal as your previous chapters, or put in "previous chapters are in my memories."
DO NOT use raw URLs. I have the code provided. Raw URLs are not acceptable and will result in a post rejection.
If you use your memories for backlinks, then provide the URL of that memories category. If your header has: "Previous chapters are in my memories" without the actual link to it the post will be rejected. Convenience is important. If you have an archive journal that you post all your backlinks to, do not simply link the username of that archive journal, link the actual post with all the back chapters. When the story is finished and found later, the story may be buried under all the newer archived fics and will be troublesome to the reader. There's no such thing as too much convenience.
Also, forward links at the bottom are a greatly, greatly appreciated convenience as well. And it's not that complicated either. The same code works just as well with that. It's up to you of course to forward link, it's not required for this community, but it's never a bad idea.
Please be sure to double-check your work before posting it. Stories that contain horrible errors will not be well-received and if feedback is important to you, then try to provide the best story you possibly can. It will also help to get a beta reader: someone to check your story as well for writing and spelling errors or to catch anything you may have missed yourself. Even if you're a skilled writer, betas are very handy. There's no shame in everyone having a beta reader.

READERS:
Please provide feedback for authors. No flames, no bashing, no ridicule. Concrit is welcomed and even appreciated but should be done so NICELY. Be polite and also point out the good, too. Don't just go naming off everything that's wrong with it.
Feedback is very important to writers because it's all fanfiction writers have is feedback. They don't make money off of writing fanfiction, so feedback gives them something worthwhile in their efforts. Try to give an insightful and thoughtful comment if you can. Writers like knowing that their story really meant something beyond, OMG, HAWT! That's nice and all, but doesn't give the writer much to go on. An author who puts time and effort that shows into their fic deserve appreciation.
Feedback is not the same as getting one's ego stroked. We enjoy it when a story is well-received. It's fun, it makes the whole time and effort put into something worthwhile. There's no shame in wanting appreciative comments, but that doesn't mean we don't get anything from concrit either. So if you read a fic and enjoyed it, please let the author know. Don't be shy. Imagine how you would feel if you put time and effort into something and no one offered their thoughts on it? That's a pretty shitty feeling.
WRITERS
Reply to your comments. It doesn't make you look needy or silly, or greedy for numbers to show a little appreciation for someone who gave the time to offer their thoughts, and those who comment appreciate getting a response. They like knowing their comment meant something to the author. And try to say more than "Thanks" or "thank you" as well. Especially with heartfelt and thoughtful comments. That's almost as insincere and ungrateful as not replying at all. Remember, comments are a two-way street. You can't solicit feedback and then turn around and not even show gratitude for them. Really. Imagine how shitty that feels to be ignored. It's merely the polite thing to do.
If someone leaves you some concrit, don't get defensive and beligerent about it, but appreciate that someone was willing to point out your mistakes that will allow you to grow as a writer. Defensiveness just show immaturity.
COMMENTS
It is extremely rude for two people to get into a long thread on someone else's post. If the conversation is that interesting, take it somewhere else. No one wants that sort of thing flooding their inbox.
First comment shit is EXTREMELY annoying! Authors don't give a single god-fucking-damn who has first comment. You want first comment then take your chances reading first and offer thoughts on the post itself. No one wants a bunch of junk comments flooding their inboxes and most authors are too polite to complain about it. So you got first comment. Woopdee shit. There are more important things in this world to accomplish.
