Hello. You've stumbled across My Chemical Alternate Universe, the community for alternate universe, more commonly know as AU, My Chemical Romance SLASH fanfiction. ~~Because we know you want even more places to cross post to.~~

i. Only AU, that is Alternate Universe, fanfiction will be accepted. If you are unsure of what that entails, please go here. Only slash stories will be accepted. The main pairing must include at least one member of My Chemical Romance.

ii. Before you even contemplate submitting a story into our community, make sure that you have checked it through thoroughly and, if possible, have had someone else look it over for you, as every writer – even the best of us – can make and miss mistakes. A beta is highly recommended.

iii. Every story that is submitted into our community must have an introduction. Below is what your introduction should look like:

Title: (Would you buy a book that had no title?)
Author: (This must contain the username code of your journal and nothing else.)*
Pairing: (State the pairing within your story by using their full and proper names - no short and stupid names.)
Rating: (In the words of Emily, R =/= NC-17)
POV: (It saves confusion if you state clearly what point of view the story is being told from.)
Summary: (A brief description of what your story is about – brief.)
Disclaimer: (State that you own none of the real life characters to save yourself a lawsuit. Make it simple, nothing stupid.)
Author Notes: (Don’t write an essay about why you haven’t updated your story for a while, no stories of your personal troubles, but if there are any important notes about your story and your story alone, then this is the place for those.)

Note: Everything has been explained here in the community rules on how to post the introduction to a story correctly. If you haven’t followed these simple instructions, your post will not be accepted into our community. We have these rules for a reason and, whether you like them or not, we have to stick to them in order for this community to run smoothly. Also, never, under any circumstances, use fancy font changing codes to change the font style, colour, size, etc, because we do not accept that here – it’s pointless, it makes the community look untidy and it’s hard to read.

iv. Your story (not the introduction, that needs to be in plain sight) needs to be placed beneath a cut tag or, as an alternative, a link to another post using the linking code **. If you are unsure of how to do the cut tag, copy and paste the text from the box below and, if you wish for the cut to say something such as the title of your story, add the text between the speech marks:

v. If you are posting a chapter story, you must place each and every one of the previous chapter links at the end of the introduction (before the cut) using the linking code. If you have a post or a memories group especially for your story and all of the links are available there, you may link back to just the one page, but it must still be done with the linking code, as we don’t accept posts with raw URL’s. If you are unsure about how to use the linking code, you can simply copy and paste it from the box below:

vi. Off-topic posts are no longer allowed in our community. Promotional posts for role playing games are allowed as long as they somehow involve slash and/or My Chemical Romance, and they must be completely placed beneath the cut tag, no images out of the cut.

vii. If you read a story within our community, please take the time to leave a review. Constructive criticism is welcomed and appreciated by all writers, but do it in a civilized manner without being abusive and causing drama or you will be banned. A note to writers, do not stir up drama and start acting rude if someone gives you constructive criticism in a nice way, or your future posts will not be accepted.
