AboutAll things Bento and Japanese. Feel free to post any and all bento or Japanese food ideas or recipes, pictures of your bento boxes and what you've packed in them, links to places to buy bento or Japanese related items, etc. Anything at all really, as long as it is Bento or Japanese related in some way!
Obento (bento) is the Japanese word for "portable food to go" (take out).
Some rules for bento:
1. Pack foods that taste good cold.
2. Be sure food is cold before packing so it does not spoil.
3. Be sure liquid does not touch rice or rice will not last long.
4. Make it colorful: Yellow (egg), green (like peas, broccoli), etc.
5. Have fun with it!
