Twilight Final Trailer HQ Picspam

Since most everyone else is already making icons of the trailer, I decided to make AN EPIC PICSPAM, including my ~~bitchy~~ commentary. This is all HQ, bbs. I went through almost a whole Snow Patrol album, it took so long to make, but I certainly had fun. Oh, and, uh, I also made quite a large gif of a certain kiss... ;)

Many thanks to autumndreamer76 for the caps I used.

You can crop and resize these into banners and use 'em if you want, just make sure to credit me. Oh, and don't add any coloring/brushes/stuff without asking, and don't claim it as your own. I worked for quite a while on the coloring to make it right for each cap, so don't go saying it's yours, okay? ;D

Onto the picspam/commentary!

So, remember when the first trailer came out and I absolutely freaked over how gorgeous the cinematography was? The reds-and-blues, the lighting, all of it was so perfect. But with this one... idk. EVERYTHING'S SO PINK AND CYAN THS TIME. Ugh. Anyway.

OH HAI ALICE AND JASPER. Also, I think they pretty much nailed the Edward look in that last cap. He looks like an alien, albeit a hot alien.

OH HAI RPATTZ'S EYEBROWS. NICE TO MEET YOU. ALSO, YOUR ABSURDLY LONG/PERFECT JAWLINE. AND YOUR SEX HAIR. (Also, that's totes KStew's body double in the last cap, amirite?)

OH YOU BET IT'S BLACK-AND-WHITE BITCH, I'M JUST THAT GOOD. *cough* Anyways, this was one of my favorite parts of the trailer. I mean, seriously, LOOK AT THE FIRST TWO CAPS. THEY'RE SO PRETTY. AND PALE. AND PRETTY. Plus, I love KStew and her bitchface. HATERS TO THE LEFT. She's so Bella.

I looooved how the music picked up here. It went straight from that Gladiator theme/Enya stuff to PURE AND UNDILUTED AWESOMENESS.

What? Fine, THIS WAS REALLY HARD TO COLOR, OKAY? SHUT UP. *refrains from the obvious spider-monkey comments*

Aaaaand this pic collage was a bit shorter. For the sake of scene continuity.

Dude, that second pic is sooo "Neo and Trinity: the high school years," amirite?... What, you haven't seen The Matrix? OF COURSE YOU'VE SEEN THE MATRIX. EVERYONE HAS SEEN THE MATRIX.... You haven't? OH FINE.

Let me just say that THE MEADOW PIC IS WIN. I MEAN, LOOK AT IT. You can practically feel the UST radiating off your computer screen right now, I know it. Plus it reminds me of the end of Eclipse where Edward tries to get it on in the meadow, so... yeah. UST FTW.

The whole apple-in-hands thing made me laugh, though. lol, so lame.

The acting in this scene looks pretty damn good. Amirite bbs? Wee RPattz looks like he's about to cry, he's so internally tortured. I know, vamps can't actually cry, blah blah blah, but still. Also, I snorted when I first heard this trailer had a close-up of KStew's lips saying "vampire," but I think they actually pulled it off pretty well. I didn't laugh too hard, anyway. ;)

Oh, how I love KStew's eyebrow action here. Plus, from what I've read of the script, this scene is just going to be sooo intense and AWEsome. Or, you know, it could be epicly bad, which is also AWEsome.

lol, RPattz looks a bit maniacal in that third pic. "Welcome to my world, MWAHAHA..." ... Ahem.

Which brings me to the whole reason you people came to see this picspam:

LOLOLOLOL - Okay, I'm sorry, but that pic of Edward makes me laugh every single time. He looks so uncomfortable around Bella. It reminds me of that RPattz quote where he says you know Edward's got problems, being an 108-year-old virgin and all. XD

Also, what was up with his accent right there? I don't know what it was, but it wasn't American, that's for sure. Which is a shame, since when RPattz does nail the American accent, it's incredibly sexy.

Well, the fight scenes look pretty AWEsome. Also, HAI THAR ESME.

Okay, so this one makes me laugh. I mean, look at RPattz's and Cam's expressions. Not very photogenic moments, Y/Y?

OH HAI CARLISLE. METHINKS I HAVE CRUSHES ON BOTH YOU AND LAURENT. MMM.

LOL. Look, it's sweet E/B moments, and then suddenly there's KARATE NINJA CULLENS. Jacksper's hands were my undoing in this cap. It just made me laugh sooooo hard.

Tutorial 6: Twicon

While I did in fact have the psd for this, it turned out that I had flattened lots of the essential layers, basically rendering the psd useless. Long story short, I can't remember exactly what I did, but after a bit of experimenting, I made a copy that's pretty darn close, if I say so myself. So here we go:

Made with PS CS2
No selective coloring, might be translatable
PSD included

1. Get your images out. I'm using two from the Twilight set: here and here. Drool over that first one for as long as necessary (well, unless you're a guy... yeah, awkward), and then paste yours on your canvas. I'm keeping my canvas simple with a random sky stock that I'm pretty sure I got from morgueFile (it's too big to upload, sorry).

(click on thumbnail for bigger version, of course.)

2. Set both image layers' blending mode to Darken.

THAT LOOKS AWFUL. Let's fix that.

3. Put layer masks on both image layers, select the gradient tool (black-to-white gradient selected), select the layer mask on the top layer (Kristin's layer), and get to blending. Clear up any blending imperfections on the layer masks with the brush tool. If you need a more in-depth guide to layer mask blending, check out this tut by me. :)

Remember: using black with the brush tool on the layer mask erases parts of the image, and using white restores parts of the image. Once they look decent, Ctrl+E to merge the two image layers together. A little box will pop up that should ask you whether to apply, preserve, or cancel. Click Apply. If things still look funky after the merging like mine did, go to Edit>Undo, erase those parts on the layer masks that show up after merging, and merge again. Mine ended up like this:

4. Apply a layer mask to the image layer, select the brush tool (color set to black), and erase with a soft, round brush around the bottom edges. Mine's like this:

Done with blending! Wheeeeeee. Merge the image layer with your background layer, crop, resize, whatever, in your method of choice. Just as long as it ends up as 100x100. Mine's like this:

Now, as I said before, I couldn't remember exactly how I did the coloring. So this might look slightly different:

1. Duplicate the base layer twice, and set both layers to Soft Light.

2. Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Curves. Settings = Input: 105, Output: 159

3. Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Hue/Saturation. Don't change the settings, just set the layer to Soft Light.

4. Layer>New Fill Layer>Solid Color, fill with #eedcca. Set to Multiply.

5. Duplicate the base again, drag it on top of all the other layers, desaturate it and set to Soft Light.

6. Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Curves. Settings = Input: 118, Output: 144

7. Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Color Balance. Settings = Midtones: 0, 0, -27

8. Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Hue/Saturation. Saturation: -16

9. Duplicate the base again, drag to the top, and set to Soft Light, 50%.

On the left is the original, and on the right is the copy I made with this tut:

Sooooo, finished New Moon on Thursday, started Eclipse today. I'm trying to drag it out as much as possible so that the wait for BD won't be too hard. ;D

Special thanks goes to Snow Patrol for this post; basically all this stuff is the product of listening to their music again all week.
