| Heya :-) I’m back from Germany/Berlin since about 5 hours… and I slept for about 4 hours of it ;-) Yeah, silly me, but didn’t get much sleep over the last 2 nights, so this was VERY neccessary… even if I have to sleep early tonight too, because I have a hard week next week… I will work for 47 hours… even if I „should“ work 30… So 17 hours „overtime“… but well… at least I hope, I can get the day off on 1st August to „see“ Benny Kieckhäben ;-) But that’s another story… so I’m back home, safe and more or less healthy :-) But let’s start with the Fady-Report ;-)

| Remember this post? Okay, so maybe I didn't exactly call it. I honestly wasn't that far off, but my theory was based on what I thought was a very clever directing move in ep 02. Turns out it was the opposite: bad directions given to the actors. I think. I would have liked to be there to be able to hear it. I do like the fact that it came full circle in how it ended where it all originally started. I'm not being specific on purpose, because I don't want to spoil people. I honestly think it was a good story overall, and I'm probably saying this because I watched the whole thing in about 2 days. I would probably have lost interest if I had had to wait 3 months for the conclusion. Which is I think one of the main reasons the ratings weren't that great. It totally should have aired like In Treatment. HBO has it all right. - Tags:hbo, tv

| Torchwood: Children of Earth - reactionsAfter spending all week on an emotional rollercoaster, thinking about the show even when I wasn't watching it, I had to post. It was absolutely brilliant, some of the best TV I've seen in a long time. It was also absolutely agonising. I loved it and hated it all at the same time. I think fluterbev summed it up quite nicely on her journal: "Hard hitting, brutal, heartbreaking, sour, sweet, agonising, nauseating, amazing, apocalyptic, optimistic, pessimistic, extreme, alternative, plaintive, conflictive, complex. ambiguous..." Oh...so damn many. I love Hotch/Prentiss (not a chance they will ever be cannon), John/Elizabeth (SGA), Sam/Jack (SG1), Meredith/Derek (how cute and awesome was their "wedding" in the last ep?) and Izzie/Alex, Bill/Sookie (Eric annoys me, and i don't see why people think skinny and pasty is hot), Jack/Ianto, and i think i pretty much have one for every show i ever watched. Also, i think someone on the promo editing team at AXN is a shipper. The newest Stargate promo asks "How many times did Sam and Jack kiss in 10 seasons?" and then shows clips and quips "If you didn't know that then you need to watch more Stargate". | |

| My last post was a fanmix meme and groovekittie commented on with the suggestion that I post songs that remind me of Henry Foss. So here are the songs :D Hopefully I have done this right, lol. I made an album cover that is included with the whole fanmix (not that i'm pleased with it, lol), but I don't know if it will show up for the songs included. It may also show up with the cover artwork that came with one of the tracks. | Would you like another round of the Torchwood fanfiction challenge?The last challenge over at my community ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) tw_exchange was back in Autumn 2008, and I'm fairly sure that in the past we've always had a challenge after each series of Torchwood. So, would you all like a challenge after S3, Torchwood: Children of Earth finishes? As usual you would have around 3 months in which to write and post your stories, which would have to be a minimum of 2,000 words (there's no maximum limit). If enough people vote to have a challenge, then I will set up a poll to choose the theme. So far our rounds have been: general, crossovers, AUs, character's pasts, and unused prompts. Here are all of the ideas leftover from the last poll: Things (or people) coming through the Rift Travel (to other countries, planets, time zones, realities) Crossovers with DW or SJA Stories inspired by the lyrics of John Barrowman songs (NOT songfics) And one I've just thought of: Torchwood families. (So fics could be written about Jack's daughter, Ianto's sister, Rhys, Gwen's pregnancy, etc, as well as purely fictional families made up by the authors or prompt-writers.) | Michael Jackson's memorial was very beautiful, very touching today. But oh man when Paris spoke at the end..it was hard to not cry. But the Heal the World (or was We Are the World?) thing near the end, very, very wonderful...his come back tour in London was going to be something just by seeing that, it's a pity really that he's gone when he was just starting to 'get back up'.
I feel sorry for his 3 kids, so young...

| Well, Merlin Big Bang Fic is now submitted ... can't do any more with that :) Chews nails. I believe the fics are going live on August 5th. Now I have the Bill/Tom ficlet to finish and I have to decide what to write for the connotations zine. I have a few weird ideas floating around my head (not least of which is the Tremors/Primeval crossover), so heaven knows what I'll end up with. :D Soph and I have also decided to write a novel together - wish us luck :) | |
