20:35 Oh my god, WHERE do they get these narrators? #

20:36 Look! They've brought Bridget out of whatever dark hole they've been hiding her in. I thought we weren't using our families politically? #

20:38 She's an awful speaker, and I've only subjected myself to it for about thirty seconds so far. Also, don't use the hurricane. I call foul. #

20:40 Oh, jeebus, help us all. #

20:43 What? THAT'S what women have always done? NO ONE TOLD ME. MY GOD, HOW I HAVE WASTED MY LIFE. #

20:46 FEAR FEAR FEAR. WAR WAR WAR. What, the rest of the Republican Party wants us to talk about the economy? WHO CARES? WAR FEAR WAR! #

20:47 There's my evidence that she actually hasn't listened to a word her husband has said since sometimes in the mid-80s. POW POW POW. #

21:16 Seriously. Guys. Shut up and let the man talk. I'm tired and I'd like to go to bed. #

21:27 Mortgage payments on her main residence, or her two recreational houses? #

21:28 The ones you voted along with 95% of the time? #

21:29 Except mavericks don't play the party line. #

21:29 "I don't work for myself. I work for BUSH. Oops. I mean YOU. I totally meant to say YOU." #

21:32 WAR WAR WAR. If we keep screaming about WAR WAR WAR, maybe no one will notice that we have no ECONOMIC PLAN. #

21:35 WAR WAR WAR. Never mind that al Qaeda recruitment has gone UP since the US occupation of a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 #

21:36 Lincoln would slap you in the mouth. #

21:37 "But only if that potential is given to you by MY GOD. Otherwise, you're out of luck." #

21:38 FUCK YOU. I believe in a culture of CHOICE. I'm only responsible for my own life as long as I agree with you, right? #

21:38 Judges don't legislate from the bench. They interpret your unconstitutional laws in light of the Constitution and tell you to fuck off. #

21:39 Could you stop talking like you're explaining why grass is green to a 4 year old? #

21:39 Well, I guess that's how you spoon feed the willingly ignorant. Never mind. Carry on. #

21:40 Failed programs like the VA, huh, John. #

21:42 But you have such contempt for the educated, John, how can you claim that you value education? #

21:43 Dear Woman Ululating Like Xena - WTF? #

21:45 God forbid you should properly fund the schools. No, just send the kids to private school. Yeah, you're in touch with the middle class. #

21:45 WHY am I watching this? I need a drink. #

21:48 Except for reassembling the Russian empire, that all sounds suspiciously familiar. #

21:50 Like torture? That's right, you voted to allow torture in Gitmo. #

21:54 Lugar-Obama Bill. LOOK. IT. UP. #

22:06 Manfully resisting beauty queen wave joke. It's hard, but I'm holding it back. #

22:13 Managed to get through without a single drink. I'm going to go read Eureka slash to take the bad taste out of my mouth. #

22:15 @montageman - As much as they like to paint Obama as an elitist intellectual, they celebrate an elitism of ignorance. #

22:18 As amusing as Andrea Mitchell being deluged in balloons ISN'T, I'm bored with it now. This is political journalism? #

Old conversations

  • Sep. 4th, 2008 at 11:48 PM
I found some old conversations and they're fun.

Person 1: "Did Batman ever have a love interest?"
Person 2: "Robin."
Person 3: "I think I should go to the mall today."

I'm pretty sure it was coincidental, but it amuses me.

Quote: "A boy's best friend is his mother."
Person: "That sounds like Jim and Bobbi."

Suit yourself, I'm easy

I'll make an icon for the first person who can id what movie the line in my subject comes from. :D

Okay so the house I'm living in is for sale. Not that [info]annikasevn thinks it'll sell. Anyway tomorrow there is someone coming to look at it, now with the exception of my room, which actually looks like someone lives in it, the place looks like we're in the middle of moving in. [info]annikasevn was all we must move furniter and the animals need to move from the breakfast nook to the living room, also we must clean. Now that sounds fine with me. But she's not here yet and I'm not moving the animals until I know where would be a good place in the living room, which I wont know until the furniture is moved. Which isn't happening with just me here. And I should probably go to bed with in the next hour. Because work in the morning. Meh. I'm thinking nothings going to get done. I moved the computer moniter off the kitchen counter and on to the computer desk in the living room. That's about all I'm got the ambition to do.

Don't you have a rib to nibble?

  • Sep. 4th, 2008 at 4:57 PM
I have my driving permit again!!!! Let's just not talk about how many questions I missed or how long it's taking me to actually get my fucking license, 'k?

I don't know what it is, but my mom and I can't be around each other for more than a minute before things turn nasty. I was born cranky, I realize this. But I used to be the one getting between her and my brother and making them stop fighting. Now, I can't seem to hold my tongue. It's hard when your mother acts like a child and a martyr. I'm just finding it harder and harder to not say anything back. It's bringing out the worst in me. I don't want to be like her. I really don't. *le sigh*

In better news, I got British money from the bank today. We ordered it last week and I finally got it. I know it's probably getting old hearing this (it's getting old saying it) but I still don't believe that by Sunday, I'll be in Europe. PS It really sucks to be an American traveling overseas right now, LOL. The things I'll do for the Boosh...

Oh, and I got my 'Best of Seasons 3&4' of Drake & Josh in the mail today. I know what I'm watching tonight ^_^ I just realized that "Josh is Done" is NOT on this DVD. I really don't understand who picks these 'best of' episodes because that was a damn powerful episode. Especially for a kid's show on Nickelodeon. Now I really hope the seasons eventually get put on official DVDs because I need that episode.

Tomorrow I go pick up my friend and Eurotrip buddy from Santa Cruz and then we go to the bookstore to find something long enough to read on the flight over there. I'm thinking I might try to learn Japanese. Or something. Maybe I'll read the crack!fic that is 'Twilight.' Except I don't want to pay good $ to read that.

PS If you missed them, I have two Matt Keeslar picspams here and here <3 <3

Today was a better day. Good classes, got papers graded, got to watch the "don't flush your eyes with bleach" video...fun times.

Will's history teacher seems to be ... something. Perhaps misquoted, who knows? He keeps coming home and telling me things that she "said", such as "You shouldn't vote for Obama because he's going to raise taxes, and that's stealing, blah, blah" (at which point I pulled up Obama's website and read his campaign position on taxes) and "the people of New Orleans shouldn't get any monetary assistance because it's their fault they got flooded". Now, given that Will doesn't knwo the difference between what happened with Katrina and what happened with Gustav, I'm giving his teacher the benefit of the doubt. Still, I may blow an artery before this year is over.

I tihnk I need to get some info on McCain and Obama both--maybe just their websites, or their acceptance speeches, or something--and let Will read them. He's going to be old enough to vote in a year; he shouldn't be totally ignorant.

Epilogue. )

It's been a month? Really?

  • Sep. 4th, 2008 at 2:53 PM
Shit, it's been over a month since I've checked in here. That's crazy. I've been reading the flist every day though, and as usual, even if I'm not commenting, I am reading.
I have reasons for not updating though!

We're in the middle of a move (nothing serious, just about a mile or so from where we were previously, same town and stuff) so that's taking up a lot of our time. We don't have internet at the old house anymore, all of that stuff is hooked up over here, and we only come here in the late afternoons/early evenings, so I'm not online as much as I used to be.

I'm 9 months pregnant, officially, as of this week, and as of last week my doctor's visits are weekly. They do an ultrasound every week now too. I had an appointment today, and as of right now my little girl is juuust about 5 lbs 2 oz and in the head down position, getting ready to come out.

The fun part came today while I was doing what they call the Non-Stress Test, which is where they strap two monitors to the belly and monitor both Rhiannon's heartbeat, and the frequency of contractions. And APPARENTLY, I am having contractions. Now, I didn't feel them when I was hooked up to the monitors, but I'm still having them now, 2 hours later, and I am feeling them. They seem to be probably about 10 mins apart. The doctor sent me home and told me that if they become painful or if my water breaks, to go to the hospital. AHHHHHH. I'm kind of freaking out, but my hospital bag is packed and ready to go, so if it happens today, or even this week, I'm ready for it. As ready as I can be at least. I just hope she'll wait until Tuesday of next week at the earliest so that she's full term (37 weeks on is full term).

I owe you guys belly pictures. I feel like a house. If my name was Juno, you could call me a big puffy version of Junebug. (I FINALLY saw that movie about a month ago and I'm kind of really in love with it)

I have lots to say on other subjects, like the Heroes season 2 DVD,(OMG LOVE IT'S SO MUCH BETTER THAN WAITING EVERY WEEK FOR A NEW EP AND OMG THE DELETED SCENE FROM THE FIRST EPISODE KEYSMASH KEYSMASH KEYSMASH), rewatching LOST on DVD, Sarah Palin (*headdesk to infinity*), Barack Obama (*terrorist fistbump to all my Obama supporters out there), etc etc. But it will have to wait.

If I do go into labor soon, I'll find a way to let you guys know what's going on.

♥ ∞

Hmmmmmmmm.

Something I've been thinking about lately.

re·lease (rĭ-lēs')
tr.v. re·leased, re·leas·ing, re·leas·es

1. To set free from confinement, restraint, or bondage.
2. To free from something that binds, fastens, or holds back; let go.
3. To dismiss, as from a job.
4. To relieve of debt or obligation.
5. To relieve of care and suffering.
6.
      1. To issue for performance, sale, publication, or distribution.
      2. To make known or available.
7. To relinquish (a right or claim).

[Middle English relesen, from Old French relaissier, alteration of relacher, from Latin relaxāre; see relax.]

Turlough offered icons yesterday, and we got talking how Frank looked like a vampire.

Which is when this comment happened.

Yes! Then when he's done that, and Gerard's lying on the bed, drained of blood and on the verge of being turned, Frank could go to Mikey and kiss him deeply, and Mikey would lick his brother's blood off Frank's lips and teeth.

Everything is made better with the addition of Mikey ;)

And Turlough said. You really should write that ;-)

So I did. Though it's very little like the above /o\

A little ficlet of Frank the vamp )

13:45 @alexandriabrown - I wish they'd just stop calling themselves liberals or Democrats. This, goddammit, is not what my party is about. #

14:05 Seriously, one more stupid faux Democrat troll starts something and I'm going to cry. #

14:16 Cthulu/Gojira '08. REAL change. #

16:19 I know that it's wrong to declaw my cat, but when my nose is the latest victim, it's so hard to remember why. #

21:25 Watching the RNC. Am struck by the level of pure, vitriolic, smuggery Giuliani is currently nauseating me with. #

21:29 Am encouraged that announcer got her name right. Well, encouraged isn't the word. #

21:36 I am so fucking sick of being told that because I'm a Democrat, I don't support the fucking troops. Fuck you, Sarah Palin. #

21:37 Also, Levi is THE most uncomfortable kid on the planet right now. I feel so sorry for those two. #

21:43 While you're explaining that, can you explain what the job of VP involves? Has someone told you yet? #

21:45 No, I consider you unqualified because of your cronyism, your vindictive nature, and your lack of respect for my personal choice. #

21:47 Voting over 90% in line with a deeply unpopular administration is not shaking up the status quo. #

21:47 No, we don't all have to agree. But you think when we don't agree, you should get to change the law so my position is illegal. #

21:48 Why am I watching this? I knew it would irritate me. #

21:50 You also slashed the budget of a pregnant teen shelter. #

21:50 YOU DIDN'T SAY NO TO THE BRIDGE TO NOWHERE. You took the money and STILL HAVE IT. #

21:52 Yes. Because when a hurricane hits the Gulf, the most important thing is OUR OIL RESERVES. #

21:56 Do you FORGET that George Bush gave a speech at the RNC four years ago in front of the same type of backdrop - except with more columns? #

21:58 That's it. Fuck you, Sarah Palin. Fuck you and your Constitution hating smuggery. You lost every bit of respect I'd managed to dredge up. #

22:01 Lobbyists have fought a McCain campaign so hard they've actually infiltrated it and put over a hundred of their own on his staff. Scary. #

22:04 Here it comes. POW POW POW. #

22:07 Frankly, McCain needs to stop playing the POW card. He's cheapening it. Especially since he keeps voting against veterans benefits. #

22:20 Fearmongering. The same tactics as 2004. This is a shakeup of the status quo? #

22:39 Goddammit, this bullshit distracted me from KOL AGAIN, and now I have no oyster eggs. You sonsofbitches must PAY #

I went to Japantown today. I haven't been there in ages, but I had a lot of fun. My mom and I picked up one of my friends on the way there. We had sushi, tapioca bubble tea, I finally got to try taiyaki... It was delicious. I also spent more there than I would have liked. But it was an acceptable loss. I found L FILE No.15. I already have the scans, but I decided I needed the hard copy. I might not be able to understand any of the writing, but I sure can appreciate the pictures ^_^

We also went into a crepe shop to use the ATM and I saw Mamma Mia! posters (mini posters) on the wall. I wondered if the people still wanted them because the movie's been out for a while. I was too afraid to ask though, so my friend asked for me. I now have two mini-copies of this poster. Colin <3

'Twas a good day.

I have a Matt Keeslar movie rec for y'all - Urbania. I also have what appears to be another Keeslar picspam. So, enjoy!
