2. Establish your journal.
Make sure it is a celebrity role-playing journal in the MBP universe: Check the master list of characters to make sure you are not a clone. If you are in the universe and your journal is not listed there, please register here.
- Put http://www.mustbepop.net as your home page
- Add the code to your journal overrides or put a disclaimer in your future-dated open entry.
- Also slap a disclaimer statement into your user information.
LJ Abuse suggests the following disclaimer:

Oh, and it would be great if you could put your name somewhere in the userinfo, especially when your journal username is not of the firstname_lastname type. It's kind of hard to know who you are, when your name is nowhere to be found.
3. Go to this entry and register with your celebrity's name, journal username and the category your celebrity should be listed under.
Registering is important! As per July 2nd, 2005, if you are not on the masterlist, you are nonexistent.
You should be getting a comment back within 24 hours, to let you know that your registration has been processed. That means you are listed on the masterlist of characters in the MBP universe and are a fully established citizen of the MBP universe with all the rights and obligations. In this comment, we will also tell you if you are missing any disclaimers and how to fix that.
Disclaimers are important! Your journal can get permanently suspended by LJ Abuse if you do not have your disclaimers in order! If you have not gotten a comment within 24 hours, please come and bitch-slap an administrator. Our contact information is listed here.

4. Begin participating via comments and other interaction.
Suggestions:
Look through the masterlist for bandmates, castmates, teammates, and other people you know one way or another.
Add people to your friends list.
Leave a comment when you add someone.
Get an AIM screenname and add people to your buddylist.
Join Welcome Wagon and introduce yourself there.
Join other communities and write topic-related posts there.
Do not cross-post the same intro in every single community you can find - be creative.
5. After at least one week and three entries, click the "join community" link.
Please put your full name in your user information, so we may google it. MERCY!
Also: If we cannot see any entries, we assume that there are no disclaimers on your invisible entries, so we suggest leaving at least one entry unlocked.

Do your homework first. Everything is explained in the FAQ and newbie guide. If you have questions about MBP, don't feel silly, though. We've all needed someone to hold our hands at one time or another. So say hello to one of the administrators (contact information is provided here) and ask.
Worth noting: If your journal is inactive for six (6) weeks, your butt is outta here. If you delete your journal, you are considered as a drop-out and will have to re-register.
