Those of you who have given me your address, you're CD's have been sent to you.
Those of you who haven't, you now have an option-- You can leave you addy here (comments screened again), or I can bring them to you at MFF.
If you ARE going to MFF, let me know, so that I can bring your CD's (and I can give you money for your share). I'm not going to assume you are going, so pease tell me!
Also, I'm going to start allowing LIMITED EDITION prints on YOUR pieces. Prints must be signed and numbered, and NO MORE THAN 10.
For those of you in last years portfolio- If you want to discount the CD from it's original $30, that's fine. |

After much headaches and ibuprofin later, I've recompiled what I could get of the files I lost.
unfortunately, this meant that I still don't have addresses for these lovely packages that have been sitting here ever so patiently to be mailed out.
I have Two adresses-- Synnabar's and thewingedshadow.

Winged shadow, I still have to check with the post office to see whether or not what I owe you will cover shipping. If it doesn't is there a preferred way you'd like to work it out? I can send it to someone to send to you, I can compensate money for CD's, or you can pay the difference.

| An Update! |

Whew, bear with me guys, while I contunue to get things straightened out. CD's won't be sent out until after August 15th, unless by some miracle, I get everything done that I need to do before I leave for Florida on the 8th. You guys have the patience of saints, you really do!
I'm still attempting to get into my files as to who still owes what, and whatnot. Some of my programs got defuncted when I entered the wrong key. Oi. If you have not paid your artist fee yet, no worries, something can still be worked out.

So then, since everyone made about $5, I'm going to give some options. I can offer:
-give up the $5 in exchange for shipping/supplies
-receive money for CD's instead. This will be a bit over cost- Each CD you'll get $3.
-Other options, open for suggestions?
This applies to USers, at the moment for the shipping, until I can figure out precisely how much it will be outside the US. They'll be shipped inside the US in bubble envelopes (CD's will have an additional layer of bubblewrap. If this is against your wishes, let me know, we'll work something out.
Sorry, I cannot afford supplies and shipping out to everyone.
Like I said, I'm open to more suggestions on the options.
Also, next years portfolio should start soon. northwolf and autumn_sunrise are taking the torch, mostly. More detials to follow |

I'm sorry to say guys, that sales sucked this year at AC. Everyone only made about $5 each
The good news? you get exposure.
Since the edition was small, everyone gets about 3 CD's each. I think I may set up an option if you guys want money instead of CD's. It will be about cost of the CD, probably a bit more that you can get back (roughly $3. If you give up all 3, you get $10). There were magnets, bookmarks, and two prints for a raffle too at the table. I'm unsure yet what will happen to the rest of the bookmarks and magnets, but I think those might be offered as cost too to you guys.
I'll admit, even though I had tyrrlin helping me out at the table, I really needed another person for my -own- table too. This is why I think sales were down on the symphonies end (they were at my table too.) I am a bit dissappointed.
I will be going possibly to MFF as well, but I do not have a dealer's table.
Will I be continuing this project next year?
Perhaps. i'm not going to run it solely by myself. I'm working with northwolf and autumn_sunrise as to who gets what. Without help for next year, I cannot run it. |

Getting ready for AC, and so far, other than just the CD's that will be for sale will be The first portfolio, and select bookmarks and magnets.
I am looking for ONE MORE person who is willing to donate a jumbo print towards a raffle to create more interest and generate more sales. Remember, I'm not allowing prints for the rest of you YET, until a majority of folios are sold, then it will be a limited run of 10.
Remember, the more we sell, the more you guys get!
Synnabar has graciously donated the first print, which will be delivered at Anthrocon. I ask that if you would like to donate a print, that you either be attending AC, have someone who can deliver the print for you at AC, or have it shipped to me--which must be recieved no later than TUESDAY. It may come on Tuesday, but I leave for AC on Wednesday. Another option would be to ship it directly to the hotel, but you'd have to let me know :D

Also, I'm due for an update on payments and such. Due to the heat, I cannot turn on my computer which has the data on it. I will give an update as soon as I can turn it on and fetch the files. This list will be updated, posted and confirmed before AC. |

| Reserving CD's |

ok guys, Been thinking how I was going to do this.
If you would like a CD for your own PERSONAL use, let me know. If you will not be at AC, you will have to pay for shipping on it. The cost to you is nothing otherwise. So if you want one:
1. Let me know
2. Tell me whether or not you (or your agent) is going to AC
If you want one for a friend, relative, etc. Sorry, due to the limited number that will be sold, they'll have to purchase one for $20.
I am going to allow Pre-orders too. These can be picked up at AC, or shipped (still covered by purchaser). Preorders will have to be paid for in full. CD's for preorders will be shipped out AFTER AC.
I'm keeping with tradition and picking a piece from the cover that I feel best described the project (and one of my favorites!) I've selected a few pieces for magnets and bookmarks-and its not that I didn't want to do all of them, its just that some pieces work better than others.
I know that this year didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked, so I'm going to make up a survey type thing of opinions on what could be better and what was good. That will probably come after AC. As for next year's portfolio... I'm going to have a sign up sheet at AC. I have two wonderful people that will be helping me next year- northwolf and autumn_sunrise. I may take on additional help, so if any of you would like to get into the core of the project, please let me know. I know we may need someone who knows html.

PORTFOLIO!
COngrats, Guys. We are officially Running a Mini folio.
The folio will be on regular size disks, but will be in Paper sleeves. The sleeves will have an Insert with a "cover picture" peeking through the hole. I'm going to go with tradition on which picture this will be--I will choose one of the pieces to be featured as the cover. IF budget allows it, I will go for the slim jewel cases
I'm waiting on a few hi-res files from some of you. I need those ASAP. Remember, files must be sent to BOTH Loth and I.
If your name is NOT on the previous list (edited from those entries I received), then I DO NOT have it. IF you have sent it to Loth and not me, Please send it to me too (aimee@skee.net)
Artist Fee ($15)- can be done several ways.

AT THE CON- either you or someone who works as your "Agent".
You will not be paid until I get this fee. You may participate in the folio without paying the fee, however, you will not earn money. The artist fee pays for the table and supplies to make the folio (which may include some labor that will also have to be paid for such as sending away for screen printed portfolios).
I'm not sure on the exact number on what edition to run this, or a price, so I need your help. Here, have a poll. Please fill it out!

First, I owe everyone an apology. I didn't mean to get so angry at the lack of entries. I suppose when you work on a project so hard and do what you can, and only get a few entries, you're kinda at a loss, yanno? It's not easy running a porfolio. :P
I need the dedication of at least 5 more people to make my idea work. I'm going to wait until sunday Night for more entries so that people have the weekend to finish their pieces. If you are waiting on a scanner to scan your pieces, please contact loth and I. PLEASE also make sure your piece fits the DPI requirements. You can adjust the dpi by going into your scanner options. If you're still stuck, please contact loth for help.
I'm concocting sort of a "mini" portfolio with the entries that were (and will be) turned in. It will be almost a companion to the first portfolio. People will have the option of buying the CD's separate, or together. Together, both CD's will probably be around $45, and the "mini" folio will be about $20 on its own. It won't be packaged in a slim jewel case, but a paper sleeve witn a cute insert. If I get more than 20 entries, then the price will go up. Sales of the first Symphonies edition will go to covering the cost of the table, since the artist fees won't cover it now. after it's covered, It will be added to the other sales as a thank you to the artists who participated :}
Northwolf thought perhaps that we should sell prints along with the folio. Good idea? Bad? I'm afraid it will hurt the sales of the CD's though.
Also, opinions on Magnets, buttons and stickers. Do them, or lame idea?
Any other ideas?
I AM still contemplating whether or not I will do this project next year. |

Quite honestly, I'm not really sure what to say.
12 entries.
I extended the deadline, and I only still have 12 entries.
Will there still be a mini folio?
I really don't know. I haven't decided yet.
For those of you who are on the verge of finishing your pieces over the weekend (or anyone, for that matter), keep working.
If I see a significant amount of entries done by Sunday night, I'll think about still running this portfolio, this year and next.

Excellent question- YES. Though be sure you trust them. Also, it is that friend's responsibility to pick up the CD's. If they forget, you'll have to pay shipping.

Some of you may have heard some things about this folio, and I don't appreciate rumours spreading about it. Guys, for whatever the confusion, come talk to either Loth or myself.
Keep in mind, just because it doesn't look organized over THERE on LJ land DOES NOT mean that we're not organized HERE in our own homes. Got it?
As I said before, I will NOT run this portfolio with less than 30 entries. Since I have not heard from MOST of you, northwolf has offered to post around to see if there were some last minute sign ups. For those of you who just signed up, thank you for joining!
I know the rules are a bit intimidating, but really, don't be. I'm pretty lenient on them, and if you've been following along, I've bent and stretched most of them. I'm an easy going person. However, I CANNOT bend the deadline anymore.
However, Loth has informed me that as long as he has the COMPLETE info of song choice, song artist etc by the time you turn your Piece in on the 30th, he doesn't mind. It makes it easier to know info before hand because it reduces the amount of work he's trying to get done before I need the info.
I'm also going to bend the Artist fee date. You can pay by whatever type of payment, and now you can pay me at the con. You will not be included in the sales until I get this fee. You can still be part of the folio and submit a piece without getting profits. No, I will not just take the fee out of your profits.
Left over CD's will be distributed on Sunday night after the Dealer's Room Closes. Anyone can pick them up after then, or if you don't want to sell them, I will add on to your profits the CD AT COST (Re: a few dollars instead of selling it for $30ish). Also, artist CD's will not be made this year, so if you want one for yourself, CD's will be sold to you at cost.
That said, big update for YOU coming up with song choices, people who paid, and entries I've received.

There are only 20 days left to get your submissions in.

I'm going to remind you guys that I will cancel the folio if there are less than 33 artists. Artist fee will go up if there are less than 40. I will let you know when we reach the 33 and 40 mark.
I have artist fees from about 4 people. ALSO DUE at the end of the month.
About Pulling out of the Folio:
If you have decided that you can't make the deadline (even though I extended it quite a bit), please let Loth and I know. I would be less mad if you just tell me, rather than just NOT turning a piece in.
If you have paid your artist fee, and decide that you cannot make the deadline, then refunds will be given AFTER the deadline.
Sending emails:
If you have asked me a question, sent me an email, etc etc. Chances are that I got it, I just didn't reply. I've been superbusy since I was loaded up on hours (not my choice), and have an art show this weekend on top of it. I should be better about things after this weekend. If you neeeeeeed an answer fairily fast, contact Loth. |

After much consideration, several of us have come to a decision. As much as I do not wish to do it this way, I feel that it's the best choice.
I am extending the deadline more to MAY 30th ON CONDITION that this project be heavily pimped for more members. This means you recruit people to join via word of mouth, LJ, Lj communites, Messageboards, etc etc etc. This is the LAST possible day I can extend it to and still make the deadline.
What other changes will this mean?
I am starting to take artist fees NOW, and will be due when the art is due. If for some reason we find your artwork is inadequate, then the fee will be refunded to you.
I must say though, all entries I have received are SUPERB.
Artist fee info:
You can send it snail mail, which you'll have to email me for the address (aimee@skee.net), or I can take -non creditcard- Paypal. This means that if you don't already have funds in the account, then it will be rejected. If it comes directly from your bank account, it might be ok, I'm not sure yet.
