Headed to the hospital shortly to begin the induction process. Dr. B told me at my appointment today (yesterday, I guess?) that they will probably begin inducing around 6am, she'll get there around 7:30 or 8 to break my water. Pray I don't have a horribly ridiculous labor and we have a baby sometime soooooon! I'm gunning for the Guinness World Record for Shortest Labor EVAR. AHHHHH! The next time you hear from me I'll be a mommy.........

For our two-year kissaversary, Michael and I were able to visit the ocean. The waves were so violent, they kept tossing us around. We ended up scraped by the sand, and weeks later, are still finding grains: in purses, shoes, cars.
But the best part was when the waves crashed us into each other. We were both safe and sputtering, smiling. And the ocean had pulled us together again. * September has happened. On Labor Day, we watched some yellow leaves flutter down as we drove by on the motorcycle. On September 3rd, we received internet at our new lodgings. It's exciting to distraction.

i mean... wow.
First of all, mad props to Joanna for thinking of me! I love same-day surprise free theater.
Met up with Dani for drinks and salads that shoulda been more impressive for the price. you suck, mustang sally's. but i guess it was worth it to say i had dinner at mustang sally's and then went to see Equus.
OK.
Within five minutes i forgot Daniel Radcliffe had ever been Harry Potter. He was totally breathtaking, and completely believeable as this young, scary, scared, damaged creature. Great instincts, you can tell that he LISTENS onstage, connects even in scenes where he's supposed to be 'cold and detached'... playing the opposites. really brilliant.
the set was minimalistic, the horses portrayed by dancers (with minimal dancing, but dancers bodies anyway) dressed in brown with wire horse heads. and wearing these platform wire hooves. it was haunting and creative.
and just... i mean, oh my god. his monologue in the first act is enough to leave you raw, but then when he recounts the evening in the barn, and he's naked with the girl (i hope that's not a spoiler... you guys know he's naked, right? sorry if i blew it for anyone. also, the titanic sinks) and again, it's a hard enough monologue to deliver anyway without having your business to the wind.
i've noticed that on the occasions i've seen full-frontal nudity on stage, i go through something like the stages of denial. it's like
a. whoa, you're naked! b. (checking again) yuuup, naked. c. i'm gonna just look at your face now. d. aw, it's dark, i'm gonna look at your nakedness.
BUT, this time it progressed into... e. wow, this totally wouldn't work if you weren't naked
and then on to
f. i'm entirely engrossed in this scene
and finally
g. what a freaking phenomenal actor.
Richard Griffiths was also rockin. (spoiler alert: not naked.)
i was upset that the girl who played Jill didn't get her own bow, but Nugget did. really? this girl has to religiously wax her junk for the run of the show and the horse gets a bow? no justice. i told kelly if i was her agent i'd have punched someone.
SO.
i'm not a stage-door girl, but when we came out i realized they had barricades set up so i figured Daniel would be coming out for autographs and stuff as good press for the opening-night prep. he finally did, but i was right behind some bald schmuckola with a fancy camera so either his camera blocked my view or the picture was screwed up from the glare off his pate. i did get this one:
The whole thing was weird though, i don't know if it's because the audience was reconciling what they just saw, or what, but when he came out there were a few hoots and a smattering of applause, and then people just started shoving stuff in his hands to sign and saying his name to get him to look at their camera. i was discouraged by my vantage point, so this was the last pic that i took. and then, as i was turning off my camera, i said "you were fantastic." and i looked up, and he had totally stopped signing autographs for a second, and looked right at me and paused and said "thank you." it was a really cool little moment. this young guy, who's totally grown up in the public eye, chose to take on a controversial and heartbreaking role in a great piece of theater, and he pulled it off, and didn' t just throw his heart on the floor for an audience but did it nude, and nobody was SAYING ANYTHING to him.
i actually kind of want to write him a letter.
he WAS fantastic. the show is impossible to describe further than i have.
oh, except that there's a gallery and people sit on the stage. i can't IMAGINE what that must be like.
You go, Daniel Radcliffe.

Hi - my life right now:
Puppies, set-building, puppies, freelance writing gig, puppies, other freelance writing gig, set painting, puppies, guest lecturing, Petsmart, play revisions, puppy foster care, big freelance writing gig that's gone on for a year, pups, scary freelance writing project I'm not sure how I'll finish, and puppies. All must be done in 3 weeks. Except possibly the puppies.
No room at any shelters, and animal control can't guarantee they won't euthanize the pups, so we're fostering them indefinitely. I'll make them a web page soon and start pimpimg them through adoption agencies.
Just bought a crate of puppy pads. Must sleep now.

my computer access has become limited due to my mother fucking w/ my internet connection, so i'm gonna be even spottier than i am usually.
My nutty APUSH teacher wasn't here today. I got to read my textbook for 45 minutes. I acctually enjoyed it. It's a fuckin awesome textbook. Go Alan Brinkley!
Rehearsal was fun. Nick, Caila, & I were nerds on the walkie talkies, discussing how I.v will take for fucking ever because its in fucking slow motion for most of the scene. It looks fabulous, but kinda annoying for those of us who have other things to do.
Scarbs gave us costume breakdowns today. It's high fashion and really stellar. I'm excited, even though I'm not in the high fashion stuff; I plan on dressing very chic. =]
Other than all that, my life has been rather repetitive and boring. I start work on Saturday, but its not much. I'm excited to see the kids again though.

Ambry, Allison, and I were in here, remember? Hiding from Noelle My Doctor?
The pictures I chose to represent the modern period are pieces of art from the last century. Art has blossomed in recent decades faster than it has in the past. If you were to look at art from the the 17th and 18th century, it would look completely different from the almost simplistic art that is conveyed today.
From the earlier artists of the century such as Edward Hopper and Salvador Dali, expression has changed greatly from more traditional styles, and creativity has reached a new level of intensity. Other artists, such as Andy Warhol, have become iconic symbols in society. The way people express themselves has changed, by using different medias and surfaces. For instance, Olafur Eliasson's exhibitions are only made from using different color lights and mirrors at different angles. The definition of modern is to be constantly updating. Art is constantly changing as other aspects, such as technology and society, change. Whether people think about it or not, art is a huge part of modern era.

Shamelessly stolen from underpantz:
I don't know the source of this, which is too bad because it's right on and makes me laugh every time I read it.
For eight years now, I have been amazed at how the Republican base stays loyal to their party no matter how difficult that may be. They always find a silver lining even when there isn't one. Their unwavering support has continued unabashedly with McCain's recent selection of Sarah Palin for Vice President. McCain could have picked a cheese sandwich for Vice President and it would have played out like this on Hardball:
Chris Matthews: Today we are here talking about John McCain's selection of a cheese sandwich as his running mate for the White House.
Glenn Beck: That's our maverick for you, Chris! John McCain is his own man. He is going to shake things up in Washington. It's his time!
Chris Matthews: Yes, but a cheese sandwich. If the Vice President is just a heartbeat away, shouldn't it at least have a heartbeat?
James Dobson: Chris that is a perfect example of today's liberal media parsing issues and dividing the country. Americans are sick of it! I spent several hours with the sandwich yesterday and I can tell you that it looks fresh, smells delicious, and come November, America is going to be starving for it! Remember, Jesus broke bread with his disciples. This sandwich is made of bread.
Chris Matthews: But this seems to be a question of McCain's judgment…
Bill O'Reilly: Chris, thank you for bringing that up. Yes, Barack Obama is unfit to lead! He's also a Muslim and a card-carrying Al Qaeda member. Next question.
Chris Matthews: We are getting word now from the Republican Party that the cheese sandwich McCain has selected for his running mate has thin slices of tomato on it. Gentlemen, your thoughts…
Glenn Beck: Whatever condiments our sandwich comes with should have no bearing on whether or not it is fit to lead a nation.
Bill O'Reilly: Glenn, you are so right. First off, it's American cheese. If Barack Obama picked a cheese sandwich for his running mate, it probably would have been Gouda. Or knowing Obama, Brie!
James Dobson: I can think of no better tribute to the American farmer than John McCain's selection of this cheese sandwich as his running mate. Just like Jesus fed the five thousand with five loaves of bread and two small fish, John McCain is going to feed this nation with his cheese sandwich!
Chris Matthews: That's our show for tonight. Join us tomorrow as we interview a pickle and some mayonnaise that came from the same refrigerator as McCain's cheese sandwich.
Bill O'Reilly: I know for a fact that pickle is sweet, a little too sweet if you know what I mean. And it's "light" mayonnaise! Just more of your liberal agenda, Chris…
The End

So, it's been about a month probably that I've been here and I still really like it. It seems like there's always a million things going on, a thousand things to do, a hundred people to see... I might join a Law Fraternity. What? We took a bunch of pictures scandalously with the Clemson statues. Instead of going to the six parties last Saturday, I hung with friends who crashed Gamers' Guild. We now play the coolest game ever: Betrayal at House on the Hill. I took my first REAL quiz in French this week. Tomorrow is First Friday, but I won't be here for the events, or even the Military Appreciation Game vs the Citadel. I'm going to Charleston. The Red Bull Flutag Bus is stalking me. It's a giant, luxury bus that apparently drives around Chicago promoting this weekend's event. They sponsored a party for the owners of Kirkwood, and they invited me to party with them on Tuesday night. I declined because I wanted to go home and read.
They were parked outside of Dick's as I was getting to work last night. The driver recognized me. Thankfully, they weren't stalking me, and it was purely accidental.
Right..........?
If this had been a Monster Energy bus, my heart would still be pounding.

^^ That's what today is. Definitely. Acting 1. Management. And tonight - our first Citamard meeting of the year! Last night was Organizational Outbreak. We had 63 people (mostly Freshmen) sign up to be a part of the club... let's see how many of them show up tonight...
I also signed up for my ACMO audition - next Wednesday night. The book with my song in it JUST arrived at Ganser, so I'll pick it up on my way to management.
We also had our first ACMO meeting last night. It's looking like a great season. I really hope Ricky directs Into the Woods. Really, really badly.
Oh, AND my auditions for Italian American Reconcilation are on the 15th. I need to work on my Italian-American "Sopranos" accent. O_o
I just noticed that this post is not even pretending to go in any sort of order. Nice. Josh, Tanya, and Dev came over at points during the night last night, each of them slightly overlapping. It was a very fun night. =]
And... yeah. This is going to be a good year. No questions about it anymore. No matter what happens. As much as I want to be in Italian American Reconciliation, there are only two male parts, and I'm up against the guys that are BIG names here - Ricky, Matt, Adam - people that have been in tons of shows here. So, if I don't get in - it's no big deal.
ASHLEY IS COMING TO VISIT ME ON SATURDAY!! Lunch and shopping in Lanc City. I'm very much looking forward to see her, because I haven't since July! Miss her so much! And Steph is coming back to visit on Friday evening. Because she's not here this year.
And now, more insight into the life of Phil... ... ... I very much enjoy giving people names when people-watching. For example - there's Cyber Cafe Chick. She worked at the register every day that I ate there last fall. And yesterday - she appeared in the Bistro. The Bistro. Cyber Cafe Chick completely threw me off because it put me out of my element. It put her out of her element. In my mind, she lives at the Cyber Cafe. Other examples: Mismatched-Chucks Dude... Weird Hat Guy... Bus Stop Girl... Girl with Seven Earrings... It's a very fun, interesting life that I leave...

my favorite: FORMER ARKANSAS GOV. MIKE HUCKABEE: Palin "got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got running for president of the United States." THE FACTS: A whopper. Palin got 616 votes in the 1996 mayor's election, and got 909 in her 1999 re-election race, for a total of 1,525. Biden dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses, but he still got 76,165 votes in 23 states and the District of Columbia where he was on the ballot during the 2008 presidential primaries.
