kairi999:

Hello. This is my first post here and I'm not quite sure if this is allowed, but I could really use some advice. Does anybody know what would be a nice keyboard to buy that is relatively inexpensive? Something under $1,000 but has a good sound quality. It would be a big help. Thank you.

v1_c00l: *cross-posted.*

Hey! This is my first post here. My names Vivian and i'm a solo artist at the moment who just moved to Nashville. I'm going to be heading into the recording studio soon to record some professionally quality tracks. Right now, low quality recordings are up on my myspace for sampling. I'm looking for any Nashville artists who would be interested in collaborating or even forming a band of sorts. My style has been shifting into the folksy rock sort of thing, but ideally I'd like to find a band with an interest in including a cellist or a fiddle/mandolin. Anyway, sorry for the length of this post. www.myspace.com/viviansaboda check out my tracks and feel free to let me know what you think through messages or by emailing v1elise@gmail.com Thanks for your time! I'm trying to reach a decent amount of plays before heading into the recording studio so your listen is greatly appreciated. Wed, Sep. 3rd, 2008, 12:15 pm

artistshare: Kate Schutt’s Latest Album to Be Released Next Month!
Singer/songwriter Kate Schutt (pronounced as “shut”) is releasing her new album The Telephone Game through ArtistShare in September. By purchasing the album, you can have an inside look at the making of No Love Lost and The Telephone Game. You will have an access to her journals, audio interviews, project updates and many more! Please visit the project homepage for more information. And visit ArtistShare website for amazing artists like Maria Schneider, Jim Hall, The Clayton Brothers, Danilo Perez and many more! artistshare: The Clayton Brothers launch “Brother to Brother” project!
ArtistShare is very pleased to announce the launch of The Clayton Brothers - Brother to Brother project! "Brother to Brother is actually a brilliant brainstorm of Jeff, my brother. Believe me, it's really hard to admit that your brother can come up with an idea you like. His idea was to find songs composed by and/or performed by some of the many brother groups in jazz (and yes, we're looking at researching our fabulous sisters and extended family members in the future!). We take those songs, rearrange them so they have a Clayton Brothers spin to them and make them our own. We also did a lot of composing, writing songs that were influenced by these brother combinations." ~John Clayton Join now as an ArtistShare participant and get an inside look at the unique creative process of these Grammy Award winning artists and watch the recording come to life. ArtistShare CD mail-order, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Executive Producer participants receive full credit listing on the final CD and other participant benefits include exclusive interviews or even a private house concert. Here is a sample of one of the songs from "Brother to Brother". Title: Wild Man For more information, please visit the project homepage. Visit ArtistShare website for more amazing artists! majesticjac: Anyone from Edmonds/Lynnwood?

Hello- I'm from Edmonds/Lynnwood area of Washington, which is about 30-40 minutes north of Seattle by vehicle. I'm not quite to the point of wanting to form a band, but I'm looking for people to play with casually in a sort of band-mindset. Does anyone here live around here, Seattle or in my city? Might you be interested in playing together? I'm interested in playing in public, too, and I'm open to doing performances if we got to that. I'm just not looking to dedicate myself too seriously to a band yet. I play guitar, I like both acoustic and electric. I'm interested in a variety of genres, folk-punk-rock sort of being my biggest interest or anything in styles inspired by the good old Beatles, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel. I'm very open-minded to this, I'm fine with the simplest of things, too. I'm just looking to get some playing in with other people. Feeling like this is a shot in the dark, but if you happen to be interested, let me know. Mon, Aug. 18th, 2008, 04:16 am

(Geeks, unite!) Or maybe you would want someone else to offer constructive critique to your progress; like-minded people who share your passion, someone who can understand why you've turned down the offer to date the hottest guy/girl (whichever way you sway) in town just to spend more time with your guitar... chrisminotaur: Junk Magic
Junk Magic's first music video: "Synesthesia". Junk Magic emerged in 2006 at the University of Hawaii when an anthropologist, linguist, computer sound researcher and film student were united by a love for pushing the boundaries of music. Together they create a rich tapestry of eccletic sound from jazz to traditional koto, rock to cutting-edge computer synthesis for a sound as diverse and exotic as the islands they call home. musicdish: Multi-Talented Political-Themed Artist Re-Releases 'Yankin' the Food Chain'

Polarity/1, the multi-genre artist best known for bold, honest, hard-hitting songs, is re-releasing his hit album, Yankin' the Food Chain, now with re-mastered tracks. Polarity/1's music has been incorporated by dance theaters and documentarists, including Danny Schechter's feature-length film documentary 'In Debt We Trust' and Battery Dance Company's 26th Annual Downtown Dance Festival last year.
Yankin' the Food Chain fuses electronica, acid jazz, alternative and electro-folk to create a set of funky-fresh beats infused with crucial political messages to future generations. The serious issues covered on Yankin' force listeners to reanalyze their own ethics, especially when cornered with their own self-images in "Look at Your Shoeshine": "Can you see yourself in your shoeshine?/ Step back!"

musicdish: Music And Spirit Blog Now Has Awesome Artist Of The Month
The "Music and Spirit" blog now has a new feature, called "Awesome Artist of the Month", which consists of an interview with an (awesome) artist (duh!) combined with a song by that artist on the profile page of the blog.
For those who are just hopelessly "out of the loop" { :) } and still have no clue what the "Music and Spirit" blog is, read on!
I have been running an interesting blog on MySpace now for the last nine months or so, at www.myspace.com/musicandspirit. There are currently 40 AMAZING artists in my Top Friends who are all very much worth supporting. In addition, there are many more in my modest friend space which is currently at 150+, most of them musicians.

musicdish: 411 On The Independent Music Movement: What All Independent Artists Need To Know
Hey everyone! This post is for virtually every independent artist out there...
411 On The Independent Music Movement DVD series offers detailed instruction for independent artists on how to promote and sell music in the US and internationally. Music industry experts come together to offer guidance in the 6 hour, 3 disc series.
Aneel Robinson is the man behind the "411" DVD. As a performing artist on tour, other musicians asked how he succeeded in the music industry himself. Aneel did encounter obstacles getting his own career up and running, producing CDs and organizing national tours. His experiences, good and bad, led him to produce the DVD series over the past 2 years.
Look for the "411" DVD through music distributors such as Midwest Tape, www.filmbaby.com , and Aneel's web site at www.411onmusic.com.
