Taiwan singer-songwriter Evan Yo can kill your Loneliness with his new album! Recently graduated from his music studies at the National Taiwan Normal University, Evan is now able to engage in his music career fulltime. It is reported that before the recording of his latest album, he was spending 12 hours every day writing songs on his piano for half a year, and he went to the studio a few dozen times in order to get every single note right. With such devotion, Evan channels his feelings into the 10 songs of his third album, which takes the concept of an audio storybook with illustrations in the style of Le Petit Prince. Besides the soothing ballad "Loneliness, Enough", Evan sings the punk-rock number "Unbeatable Boy", Mayday bassist Masa's composition "Love is Right", footwear CM song "My Baby", and the animated movie Astro Boy's Mandarin theme song "Little Good Boy".
In my opinion, this is his best album so far. I'm totally replaying Track 6 over and over so give it a try!
Battle's Jin Taehwa is going solo (Battle is not disbanded) with his new digital single. Many have said it sounds like old school K-pop. Both songs are very good and catchy. Taehwa is the lead singer of Battle and his voice doesn't disappoint. This single is definitely recommended.
Chinese singer Ding Dong not only has enviable good looks, but a beautiful voice to boot. Her third album “Della” has 11 new songs to offer, including "Fireworks", the romantic CM song for a beverage brand she duets with Mayday's Ashin; the dance anthem "Night Cat", which boasts the participation of Beyonce Knowles's dance choreographer; and the ballad "Why Do You Lie". Ding Dong is also responsible for the opening and ending theme songs for the upcoming SETTV idol drama "Next Station, Happiness" starring Ady Ann and Vanness Wu, namely "I Love Him" and "Suddenly Want to Love You" respectively, the latter being a duet with veteran singer Emil Chau.

But he mentions stuff like eating oranges, and for those of you that are interested, track 3 uses O-zone's Dragostea din tei (aka the "numa numa song"); track 5 is Kanye West's Flashing Lights; track 7 is Lil Wayne's Mrs. Officer. :)

Happyface is made up of former members of iM, Big Tone & Pil Kang. Every track on this mini album is good. I can't dislike any of them. They combined rap, rock, and r&b into their songs all together, giving the k-music scene something new and refreshing. I can't stop listening to Track 2 from Be Happy and Be My 1004 (both parts). These are recommended!
The Cab is an alternative band from Las Vegas. I'm not one to listen to American music, but The Cab caught me on the first listen during a trip with my friend. Ever since that, I can't stop listeing to them. Their music is a combination of pop and alternative. Unlike most alternative band, Deleon sings with soul which adds a special touch to these poppy alternative songs. They're definitely worth a try!

In 2009, the 9th year since Christine Fan's debut, the Taiwan singer-songwriter releases her 9th album curiously titled F One - which, according to her, represents her determination to reset her musical career and start anew after last year's Best-of compilation Faces of Fan Fan. This time, Fan enlisted the help of award-winning producer Adia, as well as eminent musicians like Xiao Yu, Daryl Yao, Chen Hsiao Hsia, and Wang Ya Jun to prepare a buffet of various music styles, from rock to dance to R&B. One of the highlights of the new album is a duet with MC HotDog called "1 to 10 = Me & You", which is described as a reggae-styled up-tempo number about all kinds of love that exist between people.
Taiwan's popular actress Ariel Lin is best known for her hit dramas, such as Tokyo Juliet, True Love, Secret Garden, It Started with a Kiss, and They Kiss Again (for which she won a Golden Bell Best Actress Award). She sang the end theme "The Lonely Northern Hemisphere" for the 2004 idol drama Love Contract to great reception, and has sung several TV drama, movie, and online game theme songs since. In 2009, Ariel is finally making her formal debut as a singer with her first album "Blissful Encounter". She even penned the lyrics to the first plug "Sweet Garden", which is designated the commercial theme song for a Taiwan soft drink brand.
Dubbed the female version of Big Bang, YG Entertainment's new girl group 2NE1are releasing their first mini-album! Formed by petite rapper and group leader CL, Bom, Minzy, and Dara (Philippines idol Sandara Park), 2NE1 prove their stuff with this explosive seven-track release produced by 1TYM's Teddy, who also wrote most of the songs on the album. Teddy teams up with Kush to create electric hip-hop dance hits like the addictive single Fire and I Don't Care, a mid-tempo R&B number with a reggae melody. Masta Wu also helped lay down some lyrics for the party number Let's Go Party. The super rookies' colorful debut single Lollipop is included on the mini-album as a bonus track.
Taiwan-based Malaysian singer Nicholas Teo is going strong in his career. After starring in the top-rated idol drama Woody Sambo and holding his From Now On tour in Malaysia and Singapore last year, the "Ballad Prince", now signed with Warner Music, is set to release his latest album The Moment of Silence in June 2009. The main track The Moment of Silence is an Euro rock number that manifests love in its simplest and most straightforward form. Other songs on the album include "Don't Listen to His Songs Anymore" and "Low Profile".
The biggest "newcomer" of 2009 has to be Gulilai Amit - wait, that's the alter ego of A-mei Chang! On March 15, 2007, the Taiwan pop diva performed under her Puyuma aboriginal name for the very first time. Since then, it has taken her 834 days and cost NTD30 million to produce her first album in this new identity. The album, whose title Amit carries the added meaning of "A-mei: music is transformed", presents a never-before-seen side of A-mei, and promises a new sound and style very different from what we've come to expect from her. Partnered by Golden Melody Award-winning producer Adia, Amit experiments with alternative music with considerable aboriginal characteristics, like in the main plug "Ancient Tune" and first single "Alter ego".
from yesasia: After setting off a national trend with their record-breaking hit dance song Gee, Girls' Generation is taking the K-pop world by storm again with their second mini-album of 2009! The super-cute girl group has the schedules clear for a red-hot summer comeback with their fast and light title song "Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)", plus five other sweet pop numbers of different styles. This time the group is going with a "marine girl" concept for their album, and photos of the girls in sailor uniforms are causing a stir among fans!
