I finally got my June issue of Afternoon. Here's a scan of the page that says that there are only 2 more chapters of Mushishi for us to look forward to... ;_;

In other news, I read through the Mushishi chapter included in this issue (Chapter #46, "Kaoru Yami"), and was able to get about 85% of it, and it is GOOD. ;o; It's probably my favorite chapter of Mushishi to have come out that has so little Ginko in it. It's a very simple story, but it has a really eerie, awesome feel... And daaaaang, Urushibara just keeps getting better at drawing people all the time; the main guy was such a cutie~♥

I dunno, I figure, why not make a post.

So, like, officially sorta how many of ya'll are going to Sakura-con in Seattle? I totally think it'd be cool to meet at the Director Nagahama Q&A (assuming there is one) or something... I dunno...

I've been on this community for 2 years now, and I feel all fluffy about it especially now that Mushishi is finally really getting out there in the American fanbase. I've also met and friended some cool people from this community, something which I don't often do because I'm normally scared of people I haven't met IRL. XD

So there's THAT, and also... DUDE. If you can buy the April issue of Afternoon, DO EET. Mushishi poster included, with the volume 9 cover art, except awesome long version with no text on it and all that! And also, young Isaza and young Ginko sighting in this chapter. It's small, but still. *hearts*

*BEAM* Oh jojohot, I knew you wouldn't let me down.

Ahem. So, if you couldn't already tell, I figured out that jojohot, the Chinese scanslation site, has been scanning Mushishi. You think I would've noticed earlier, since I visit there all the time for Steel Ball Run scans... anyways.

So if you want some of the recent colour pages/covers from Afternoon, I suggest skipping over there. ^___^ I mean, SQUEE, that pink cover from last month's Afternoon! <3

The latest chapters are here; I'm going to see if I can find some earlier chapters. If anyone can read Chinese and is willing to help out, the BBS side of the site (I think that's the link) probably has more links to older chapters? Chinese title of Mushishi is 虫师. *BEAMS SOME MORE* Ah, if only I could still read Chinese...

Hehe, meanwhile, waiting for the torrent for ep 7. Will attempt to scan some more Mushishi if I finish one of my essays, first. Twitch. (Must not look for Japanese raws till the holidays, must not -- *sob*)

Oh, and you can also check out jojohot, which has links to the releases, including the aforementioned latest chapter of Mushishi. Which is probably easier to download as ZIP files than one by one...

*reads* And hey, it's that Sea of Scrolls girl again! :O

*reads some more* Eheh, on one of those Afternoon, it totally looks like Ginko is checking out the Gunsmith Cats girl. :X I also like how it's a super peaceful picture of Ginko, with the words "aggression" all over the cover. Oh well, Bakuon Rettou and Gankutsuou! Nice.

For those of you with access or a burning need to buy Afternoon magazine, this month's has a Mushishi cover. It's pink. (Everything is pink lately.) And Ginko is ubercute and has his fake eye in AND hir hair slicked back. :D Reference here. If anyone can get a bigger scan of this, I will love you for about an hour or two. Not sure if the cover relates to the inside story, as it was all wrapped up at the store due to the gigantor toy they stuck in the middle of the book, but I wonder if it is another more modern day story?

And yes, this community was partially started to allow me to devote time to squeeing like a girl over Ginko and Urushibara's art. Awww.
