| This comm has been based off many similar ones such as: Theatrical Muse, Realm of the Muse, Mind the Muse, etc. It is in no way affiliated with them, and merely serves to bring yet another place for muses and their muns to get creative. This comm is based loosely around the concept of hitting shuffle on your CD player, MP3 player, or music machine of choice. If you’re anything like me, there’s times when a line or two from one song will just get stuck in your head and keep playing over, and over, and over. Eventually you either listen to something else, and get that stuck—or you might choose to get creative and write something inspired by it. |
| How To Apply: |
| First, check the taken muses page. If your muse is available then feel free to apply for that muse. Also please make sure you read all the rules that will follow, as they contain the key lyric for applications. **Please wait until your application has been approved before clicking to join both the main comm and the OOC comm.** |
| Rules: |
| 1. Muse Shuffle will accept four (4) duplicates of a muse. Once four (4) have been accepted of one muse, that muse will be closed off and any further applicants will be wait listed. The obvious exception is original characters of which duplicates will not be accepted. 2. Prompts are posted every fortnight - so twice a month. There will be two lists of twelve (12) snippets of lyrics to choose from by various artists—hence the shuffle. There may also be months where the snippets are themed. For example we might have a set of prompts in line with Oz Music Month (November), or twelve songs about sex, twelve degrees of separation—a set of lyrics by artists who have worked with each other… you get the idea? **Prompts are to be posted as comments with links to the responses on the muse journals on the prompt list(s) of that month.** 3. Members must respond to at least one (1) prompt each month to remain active. Multiple responses encouraged but not required; after all if you feel inspired by all twelve lyrics then they have served their purpose! 4. The minimum word length for each response is 100 words. The maximum is whatever you want it to be. We also understand that sometimes muses have a very distinct way of responding so if you fall below 100 words in one month, it will not be a problem. 5. Applications for muses are accepted on any day of the week but bear in mind that RL will always come first, so approvals may still take some time. If you do not hear from the mod after a week, feel free to email again—or nudge with a long, pointed stick. 6. Please include your muse’s full name and any aliases (eg. Arthur Hubert Fonzarelli aka The Fonz, or Fonzie) in your applications, so that mods will know exactly who the character is, and just in case they’ve been living under a rock they can acquaint themselves fully with the muse. Also do the same on any introductions, or posts for the community. 7. No wank please. We’re all adults (allegedly), so please just be kind to your fellow duplicates, muses, muns and local wildlife. If there’s any wank that the mods get a wind of there will be dire consequences that will range from strapping you in a chair and force feeding you Engelbert Humperdink records, to putting you in THE COMFY CHAIR! 8. No really, in all seriousness—do not engage in wank. No one really cares, and no one has the time. 9. Mods reserve the right to reject applications, however you will be given a reason and can always re-apply. 10.
