![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} muse_pens is a community based on the concepts seen in similar comms such as theatrical_muse, thetenspot, makeyourlist, and onapostcard. We are not linked or affiliated to these comms in any way, and just exist as another place muse and muns alike can have fun and be creative. The concept of muse_pens is simple. Responses can be anything your muse would put pen to paper for. For example, this could be a diary or journal, notes, telephone messages, postcards, medical records if they are doctors, case notes if they are police, file notes if they are lawyers, letters, Post-Its, lists, death threats, a message in a bottle, a schedule, lyrics, a personal ad, newspaper adverts or columns, – ANYTHING that your muse might write down. The list goes on and if your muse would write it down, it can be used as a response.Three new prompts will be posted every week. All past prompts can be used at any time. However, muses will not be restricted to just prompts. Your muse can post any piece of writing at any time, whether it's a prompt response or not. Want to write a love letter and no prompt fits? Go ahead! Does your muse feel the need to pen a personal ad, but the prompts don't match? Get to it! There is no limit how often your muse posts. Maybe they want to write a daily diary entry? Or write letters to everyone on the list? It's all welcome. The only thing we ask if that you clearly mark what sort of piece your muse is posting, and that you post at least once a month. | RULES |
| 1. Muse_Pens will only accept one form of any muse. Out of fairness to members, we will not accept duplicate or double-up muses. 2. Prompts are posted every week. There will be a list of three (3) various prompts for writing-related responses posted each weekend. But remember, muses will not be restricted to just prompts. Your muse can post any piece of writing at any time, whether it's a prompt response or not. 3. Members are welcome to suggest prompts for future use at THIS POST. 4. Responses are to be posted to the main community, muse_pens with their muse's tag. Your muse will be given a tag in your acceptance email (list of all character tags can be found HERE). It is important for us tracking muse activity that you tag all your entries to your muse. If you prefer to post the body of your work to your own journal, a link must be posted to the main community. 5. Members must post at least once every three months to remain in the community, whether a prompt response or personal muse choice. If you do not post for three months, you will be contacted by the moderators regarding your membership. 6. ALL POSTS WILL BE ASSUMED TO BE PRIVATE TO THE MUSE UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED. For example, if you are open to others responding to your post, mark it to who it's open to (for example, a letter). Or if you're happy for anyone to reply, state OPEN TO ALL. This is generally the opposite to the [LOCKED] and [/UNLOCKED] concept seen in other commuties. 7. There is no minimum or maximum word length, but we do ask that you place any posts above 400 words under an lj-cut. 8. ADULT CONTENT is acceptable but must be locked to members, placed under an lj-cut and marked with the appropriate adult rating. 9. Applications for muses are accepted on any day of the week but bear in mind that RL will always come first, so approvals may still take some time. If you do not hear from the mod after a week, feel free to email again, or nudge with a long, pointed stick. 10. Please include your muse’s full name and any aliases (eg. Arthur Hubert Fonzarelli aka The Fonz, or Fonzie) in your applications, so that mods will know exactly who the character is, and just in case they’ve been living under a rock they can acquaint themselves fully with the muse. Also do the same on any introductions, or posts for the community. 11. We encourage all members to post an introduction post upon acceptance to our OOC comm, pens_ooc so other members have a chance to meet, greet and get to know your muse.12. No wank please. We’re all adults (allegedly), so please just be kind to your fellow duplicates, muses, muns and local wildlife. If there’s any wank that the mods get a wind of there will be dire consequences that will range from strapping you in a chair and force feeding you Engelbert Humperdink records, to putting you in THE COMFY CHAIR! 13. No really, in all seriousness—do not engage in wank. No one really cares, and no one has the time. 14. Mods reserve the right to reject applications, however you will be given a reason and can always re-apply. 15. Finally, so that your applications can be accepted and this place gets filled with wonderful members of supreme please include the following as the subject header: I'm too sexy for this shirt. |
