Hey peeps :D
I mentioned to a few people in Central Bar today about the Merlin convention/gathering/geekage happening in London in July and it's actually the 3rd through to the 5th. Here are the actual details but as a general summary its called PendraCon and it costs £40 for the weekend. It's actually in a Premier Travel Inn which means you can sleep there too but it's £90 a night for a double room so I figure a hostel would more than fit our needs. It's actually quite small and there are only 50 tickets available but the organisers don't seem to think that the tickets will sell out anytime soon.
Anyway that's the main things. You can find anything else out on that page and please let me know if you're interested in going! I really am, I just can't pay for ticketage yet but it would be cool if other people would like to go too.

Ok, it's half 2 and I've already figured out I'm not sleeping anytime soon. I'm bored. Therefore, CONSEQUENCES: LJ STYLE.

In theory (because we all know what an LJ noob I am?) all comments are screened so no-one can see what anyone else has written. Well, except me. Watch as I go mad with the power of it all. Oh and silvernatasha probably, being our overlord.

But yes. Play pretty please? I'm ever so bored, and it'll make me all happy to do these next week when I'm back in ye olde Telford! Plus we didn't use the community at all in June and I'm feeling sorry for it. :(

Lovelies, I haven't booked the Ed Byrne tickets yet and would like to get on it fairly sharpish. It's Thursday 23rd October, I think £15. As far as I'm aware Oz, Amy, and Alex have said they definitely want to come; who else?

Emma (galacticconman) is coming down tomorrow so that she's in Cardiff in time to get the minibus with us on Saturday morning to Collectormania (If you need to know, we're aiming to meet outside the front of the Union for 7.30, meaning that everyone should be there by 8 when we can actually get the minibus and go!).

Anyway, she's decided she's like a tour of all the good coffee places in Cardiff, so using Kayleigh's map from here We're going on the same crawl, only starting and finishing in different places...

We're starting at Hoffi Coffi (number 3 on the map). Em gets in to Cardiff at about 10am, and we'll be doing this all day. Then heading around in a big circle in the opposite direction from last time, to end up at Milgi (number 4 on the map).

You're all invited to join us as whatever time you find yourselves to be free. If you need to know where we are at any given time, just text me.

The Harry Potter Society's Annual General meeting - a chance for members to discuss the society and how it's run, as well as elect a committee for next year.

If you want to be on the committee next year, it's important to come. If you want to be involved but can't make it, please let us know!

It is important that we fill the three main committee positions: President, Secretary and Treasurer. If you'd like to nominate yourself for any of these, don't be shy! You can use the event wall or send an email/private message to existing committee members. Also, feel free to talk to any of the current holders of these positions (or any of the committee) if you want to know what the job entails.

If there are any particular topics you'd like to raise at the meeting, let us know, too.

Afterwards, we'll probably shift over to Central Bar for more social drinking/discussion.
