Earned myself £50 cleaning my Grandma's patio, path, and drive. Paid for doing all of it in one go that evening as I lay in bed with a constantly aching arm that nearly had me in tears. But still... moneeeeeeeeeey! I haven't had money to spend on myself since CMK back in March! How I have missed thee! Definitely going shopping this week for new clothes! DVDs etc will be bought with birthday money XD I've seen two new movies; Kung Fu Panda and Mamma Mia. I think I can safely say each are both as silly as the other, but entertaining. The main difference was the amount of singing and the audience it attracted. Mamma Mia attracted the most diverse audience I've seen in ages; ages 8 to 80 o.0 Having no internet at my Dad's over the weekend lead to a nice big icon batch and also much Farscape watchage. I'm now up to episode 3x18 (bearing in mind that I haven't seen most of the first season). (comment) Idol recap and idol-graphs in Chicago [19 Jul 2008|06:19pm] roarimaraptor So the Idols were in town today. We couldn’t go to the concert because my beloved brother spent all of his money before we were able to buy the tickets. We decided to go out by the arena anyway to see if we couldn’t get some pictures and autographs. Or as I like to call them, idol-graphs. We hung out with my peep Ryan from the Club Ace board and her dad and siblings. We waited forever before the buses got there and then forever after they got there. Then finally… someone came out. I couldn’t see who because there were sooo many people there. We should have kept this bus thing a secret. There were two guys there who looked like Blake Lewis and Chris Sligh and I joked that they were they because they “have to meet David Cook!” Anyway, Ramiele, Syesha, and Kristy Lee came by us first, but I didn’t get close enough to get my picture signed. They all seemed nice, but they kind of rushed through as fast as they could and Syesha was, “I’m not doing pictures until after the show.” I didn’t want your picture anyway, Syesha!! In fact, I couldn’t even remember your name until this morning!! Then Michael Johns came out. Oooh la la. I love him, even though I can‘t remember his name and keep calling him John Michael. I want to marry him and I’m pretty sure polygamy is legal in Australia so his wife shouldn’t be a problem. He is HOTT in person. And hilarious. He is so funny. He was making jokes the entire time. He was sooo nice. He talked to everybody, signed everything for everybody, took pictures with anybody who wanted them. He was outside longer than anybody. So long that people, mostly me, kept commenting, “Is he STILL out here?” It was awesome. He signed my photo and I got a picture with him. My hair exploded from all the humidity. I’m making a funny face because I wasn’t sure if he was ready for the picture cause he was behind me and I couldn’t see him and I wasn’t sure and I was confused as to whether or not my brother was holding my camera phone the right way. But anyway, here’s the picture and some others. Brooke is adorable in person. She’s very nice and friendly. She told a story about how she accidentally signed some lady’s jeans. Carly was really nice too, so I take back anything bad I ever said about her. Except for the things I said about the tattoo. It still frightens me. So I took a picture of it. Jason Castro is cuuute. He’s got tanned, freckly skin. I love it. He was outside for a long time too. He only left because some guy came out and told him he had to go do press. This is where the story ends. Chickezie didn’t come out and the only glimpse we caught of either David was as they were getting off the bus. I would assume Cook smoking hot, but all I could see was that he was wearing a red baseball cap and a white t-shirt. If only I’d brought a telescope. Here’s the picture I got autographed. Jason’s name is under his picture, as is Brooke’s. Michael’s is along Kristy Lee’s legs so in 10 or 20 years, I’m gonna be really confused when I look at it. We left after cops came over and yelled at everything that if we didn’t move our cars out of the Target parking lot, then Target would move our cars out of the Target parking lot. I have nothing further to recap since we didn’t go to the show. But I have tickets for the show in Grand Rapids, so hopefully I‘ll get to meet David Cook and/or get the Idol-graphs I didn‘t get today.

I'm looking at this site and I understand some of what it says. But not all of it. Um. Please translate the computerese? Anyhow, yes, sorry I didn't post a song yesterday. I was not coherent what little time I spent awake. I was in a mood at work, walked to the post office (and halfway there remembered it was pots and pans coming. Not the brightest move...). I got home, caught up on enough to buy a ticket to The Magnetic Fields concert and realize dates are out for The Matches' fall tour. The day before The Magnetic Fields. I am so so so pumped! I capslocked at thelemic and chebonne before I passed out. I have plans to write about how awesome The Magnetic Fields are, and just why I am so excited for this concert, but that can come once I've frustrated myself with staring at coding and doing laundry. And with thinking about my life. I'm at mom's for the laundry-washing, and when I walked in, my sister had half a dozen guys or so stay over. So I called mom on her - caught her voicemail. One of the guys stole my sister's camera. She's planning to quit school, get her GED, and move out. Way to run away from her problems, just like her mother. Joy. Way to kill my concert buzz! The Magnetic Fields - The Desperate Things you Made me Do I've loved this song for years. From the very first line in the lyrics. The Magnetic Fields - Too Drunk to Dream This is my favorite song off the new album. I'd have bought it just for this song. I know it's depressing lyrics - Merritt is great at those. But it's so upbeat!

And hurry, it's only up on the site until tomorrow! I impatiently waited for all three parts to be up and I actually managed to keep myself spoiler free so that I could watch it all in one go. I NEVER stay spoiler free. I am amazed by my own will power, teehee. ( Once more I am a Joss Whedon minion ) Royal Mail sucks. There you have it. I waited all bleeding day for the postman to redeliver a package that I couldn't sign for when they first tried to deliver it, simply because I wasn't at home. So I requested a redelivery for today. Nothing. I have been up since 7am and it's more than 12 hours later and I still haven't gotten my package. The worst thing of it all is that my package contains MY NEW PASSPORT. I kinda need it desperately!!! Of course it's a Saturday evening now and of course the help lines are all closed and of course they won't be open on Sunday. Wasted an entire day waiting, because I was told they could come by at any time between 7am - 6pm. *headdesks*

Also, who asks three teenage kids to babysit their giant half-brother? Of course I say all of this, but everytime it seemed like Hagrid was about to kick it in the books I cried "Not Hagrid!!"
