Mugglecast keeps me alive, especially since I am doing an early entrance college program at the UW. It's great to get a break from being a nerd once in a while. Or, at least, be a different sort of nerd.

I was born in China, and moved here to Seattle when I was five without the knowledge of a single English word. Since then, I've learned English quite well, well enough to get myself into the most prestigious early entrance program in the nation, which I am currently attending. It is at the University of Washington... it's great, actually, being fourteen years old, and attending university! Plus, there are fifteen OTHER kids who are also nerds who are about your page in the program, so it's cool. You can be nerds together :] I started listening to MuggleCast about a year ago, and I've loved every minute of it. Sunday=Mugglecast=good way to lay back after an aggravating week of college work!

Hi guys! I hope this is allowed, because I really wouldn't know where else to ask.

I'm looking for episodes of the podcast Lose The Tone that used to be put out by some of the MuggleCasters:

I'm missing episodes: 1, 5 and 15. Now I'm pretty sure that 15 was never released, but I thought I'd put it there in case I'm confused as to which episode it was.

I'm really hoping someone will have one or two of the above podcasts and wouldn't mind uploading them for me to some kind of file hosting site.

Hogwarts House: Oh goodness! I'm still not sure but I think probably hufflepuff! Though I'd love to be a Ravenclaw! I've changed my mind several times since I started reading the books.
And if you have any other interesting things you'd like to share. Not so many. I wrote my dissertation at uni on books 1-4, but honestly it was awful. I could write something much better now and kind of cringe when I think about how badly written it was!

Since us MuggleCast fans are pretty much forumless right now, I was thinking we could, if anyone's interested, discuss episodes of the show here, in the comments.

In this week's episode of our Harry Potter podcast, we make Harry a pig and Dumbledore's motives slaughter. Was the famed headmaster setting the boy wizard up for an inevitable death? Or was The Great Bearded One absolutely sure that The Chosen One would survive He-Who-Should-Not-Be-Named's plans? Okay, enough nicknames and we'll get straight to the point. On this week's show:

- Where is Jo going with Wizard of the Month?
- Ttitan Tiffin as young Tom Riddle?
- The news that launched a thousand shrieks.
- Was Pettigrew braver at age eleven?
- We discuss the morality of Dumbledore.
- Did he help Harry by distancing him?
- Was what Dumbledore did morally permissible?
- Would Harry have chosen his path if not for Dumbledore?

Sort of off topic, but does anyone else think that in last week's episode there was quite a bit of Jo-bashing? Not in a mean way or anything, but there were quite a few complaints to Jo :P

For those of you who feel lost without them, or would just like to join a forum about MuggleCast, my friend Rosey has created The *Other* MCFF. We (as in everyone who was once part of MCFF) want to stay together, so we'd love it if people joined this forum.

12-Hour MuggleCast

So how insanely exciting is this 12-hour MuggleCast going to be? Most definitely the highlight of my weekend.

A Complaining PiPa Member

When MuggleCast started the Pickle Pack way back on April 29, 2007, there was lots of mixed reviews about the idea. Some thought that it was ridiculous to buy videos from people we listen to weekly for free, while others were willing to pay the $30 for the "blickles".

I was one of the willing.

I bought my Pickle Pack membership on April 30, 2007. My shirt and letter came soon after.

The first week was good with the videos, except for Kevin's... We didn't get his on Saturday. I also was sad about the distinct lack of Mikey B, who eventually was given a page.

The MuggleCasters kept it fairly updated in the beginning, but after awhile it dwindled down...

Kevin never even made blickles, apart from one way back when. He didn't even try to keep the written part updated.

When I paid the $30 I wasn't expecting amazingly entertaining videos or spectacular bonus content. But I was expecting the promise of daily videos being kept.

When not even the shirts are being mailed out to the people that paid them, something has got to be wrong.

We aren't asking for millions dollar productions, or even consistently funny videos. There is nothing wrong with complaining about how sucky the weather is or that you are angry about gas prices. We are just asking for what we paid for.

Favorite Caster: Either Eric or Jamie. Eric's spiels are so entertaining and he seems willing to defend absolutely any theory thrown at him (probably because of Crackpot Theories, but still). He always manages to convince me and by the end of his argument I'm nodding and saying 'yeah' when appropriate - if I'm alone of course. I know it's rather shallow, but part of Jamie's appeal is that he's British. American accents bother me to no end quite often - it's something about the way Americans say their 'a's. It's so. . . harsh - so it's nice to have a respite from the grating sounds of my classmates once in a while. Other than his accent, Jamie is extremely funny and interacts with the other co-hosts in such an interesting way that you can't help but be drawn in.
Hogwarts House: Slytherin
Other: I'm a PicklePack member though I've been sadly lax on checking it for the past month or so (woe, woe, woe). I'm a rather rabid Remus/Sirius, Severus/Lily, Albus Severus/Scorpius, and Albus/Gellert shipper but other than that I don't have very many thoughts on ships - though I loathe Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione with a fiery passion. It seems cruel, but I think that the major Gryffindor players in the books are all extremely annoying and rather stupid - well, except for Hermione but she can be quite dense sometimes. I hate that Slytherin just walked out in the final battle. It's highly implausible that the entire house would be too scared to fight or believe that Voldie and the Death Eaters' cause was right. Peeves and Fred are my favorite characters. I adore Wizard Rock. I don't seem to share the same disdain for pickles that Andrew has. As you might have guessed, I have a tendency to ramble on about absolutely nothing.
