New AF Community

So, I'm trying to pull together all of the remaining AF fans that are still interested into a new AF community. It's called Haven City (havencity) and still under major construction, but that'll change soon. Come and join us.

If the maintainer of this community is interested, I'd love to add you as one of our affiliates. Just drop me a line (or a comment).

So I just joined. If there are any other more active AF communities, will somebody point me to them, as I am currently too lazy to check?

"The fifth Artemis Fowl novel, Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony has been released in the UK and Ireland, with sales starting on August 2, and will be released on September 15 in the U.S. There are rumours that this book will introduce a baby brother/sister for Artemis.

Colfer has also said that he plans to release one more Artemis Fowl book after "The Lost Colony," but nothing else is known of this so far."

Challenge Pimpage - Run to heracleslabours! Now! I dare you.

The Twelve Labours of Heracles is an Arty Fowl fanfiction challenge designed to explore this brilliant fandom of ours more thoroughly. You've probably seen a few people posting on ff.net with "12LH" in their summaries - this is what they're refering to.

There are twenty-four prompts given. They aren't like the theme prompts of other communities like fanfic100. These are all challenges specific to AF - Holly/Artemis, Artemis meets another Genius, and the Fowls as an Irish Crime syndicate. The aim isn't to complete all 24 (although myself and humble_mosquito are mad enough to try). Instead you can pick 3/6/9/12/24 'Labours' to complete, and there's no pressure on how long it takes to complete them.

Labour #24 is the FishWish. Participants send in a few ideas which they'd love to see written, and some of the other ~~crazy~~ generous AF authors oblige.

It's fun, I swear. Would this Yeti ever lie?

Whee, I just finished the Opal Deception a little bit ago! It was amazing. Heh, Artemis as a normal teenager. And Opal! She's a nut! And Foaly rocked. And just general yay-ness. Except when...well...*sniff*

What were your all favourite parts of the book? I want to know! :D

And does anyone know how many more books there will be/their names/when they'll be out/any new movie info?

Hey guys. I'm making a quiz about AF characters, and I would absolutely love your suggestions. The kind of questions are those Agree/Disagree ones, and I would like to make something real people can take, not the 'have you stolen the fairies' gold' one. :P

Suggestion for your suggestions (and also the format):

'I enjoy watching and getting involved in fighting sports.' A tad obvious, but it's something real people do.

Wow, I love the Artemis Fowl books! They're so original and creative. Holly Short is my favorite character and The Arctic Incident is my favorite book.
I enjoyed The Opal Deception (I read it in 5 hours!) but I thought it was darker than the other ones. I liked the odd Artemis/Holly relationship in this one-- it was intriguing.

This picture took over my wallpaper the other day, and up until then, I had never even SEEN it, much less put it on as my wallpaper. But, there it is. And it simply REFUSED to go away. Finally, after fighting with it for about...Oohh...Two hours, he finally relinquished control of my desktop back to me. Just thought I'd share the story.

*Sounding oddly like she's in a Twelve Step Program*. Hi, I'm Lisa, and I like Artemis Fowl~~.....In more ways than one~~.
I received the first three books over Christmas, therefore it's safe to admit I'm a very new fan to the series, but it's grew on me so very fast. I'm surprised this series hasn't gained more media.
I found this place via search and was so happy to see I'm not alone in my love of this series on LJ. I hope it's alright for such a newbie as I to join *Looks sheepish*. There's no weird ritual I have to complete that involves chickens and Bon Jovi, is there?

Anywho! I thought I'd drop by and say hi, expect insanity from me!

I pass by an Artemis Fowl community and I just have to join. Just couldn't help myself. ^^

Well, it seems like the hip thing to do is to give a hello entry, so here I am! I'll just go right out and say that my favorite character is Artemis Fowl himself, followed closely by Foaly for his fabulous wit. XD Hm...As stated before, my favorite book is Eternity Code. Yay.

Might I mention I can read Gnommish? Yeah, I think I should. ^^

I read the Opal Deception. It was pretty good, but...I honestly like the Artic Incident and The Eternity Code better. Still pretty good. Now I can read more Artemis Fowl fanfiction, because I was too scared I would read a spoiler for the Opal Deception or something =P. Overall, the fourth book was good, but not the best. Which is your favorite book out of the series?

I've had this collection of Sims 2 screenshots for a while now, and I suddenly wanted to share them and fabricate stupid captions before all the exam study-ness turn my brain to sand. And I don't want that to happen, now do I?

The Fowl Family @ Fowl Manor in The Sims 2

From left to right, we have Juliet Butler, Arty, Timmy, Angeline, and Domovoi Butler. Alas, I could not make Juliet and Dom siblings like they should be, because teenagers can only be related to an adult in paternal relationships. However, Dom is still very sweet towards Juliet and loves her dearly.

Here we have Juliet busting a wrestling move on poor Arty outside the Fowls' first house. (Butler, standing on the left, does not seem to care that his charge is being bullied.) You can tell I wasn't used to taking pictures yet, and I should've zoomed in for a better shot of the Artemis pwnage.

Meanwhile, Angeline and Timmy conjured up pillows and were busy running around hitting each other. Timmy is obviously making a greater effort to be the Family Man. (They are such cute adults.)

After using a cheat code to make the Fowls incredibly rich, I moved them into the manor. Here they are making their way through the gate to check out their new home.

A shot of the first floor. (The main entrance is on the right.) Butler and Timmy play pool while the stereo blasts out Naruto theme songs. Everyone else has retired to the living room/parlour to watch music videos on the flatscreen TV. (And because I didn't want to keep Juliet on slave labour, the hired maid is cleaning in the kitchen.)

Neighbours have come over to say hi and steal food. Here we have Tybalt Capp (a default neighbourhood character) mulling over the hawtness of swimsuit!Butler. (Arty, you may notice, is thinking the same thing.) Along with Angeline, Butler, and Arty in the hot tub is Raito Yagami, the psychotic, serial killer from the Death Note manga. He and Arty hit it off quite well, actually.

Juliet wastes no time in whipping up a plate of apple-flavoured gelatin dessert for everyone. Ryuk (a death god from Death Note) and L (the insomniac detective from Death Note) make a beeline for the desserts, because Ryuk loves apples and L is a sugarvore.

Butler and Angeline leave the hot tub later to have a snack. Butler immediately begins sharing player stats on the latest sumo tournament. Angeline politely pretends to be interested.

Timmy joins Butler later and the two talk a length about seeker missiles. L, on the left, has finished his plate of gelatin and is eying another plate with great interest.

A minute later, L claims the other plate to himself as well, as very well predicted. Timmy decides to pose for the camera a bit and show off his Speedos.

Meanwhile, Juliet, Artemis, Ryuk, and Raito are setting up a game of pool. While Arty bends down to gather balls, Raito cocks his head and stares interestedly at Artemis's posterior. Who knows what he may be thinking...

Juliet gets bored of pool later, and sneaks into Butler's upstairs bedroom to work out. Because Timmy was taking a shower downstairs (and singing rather horribly), the guests have come upstairs to use toilets and such.

After most of the guests have left, Arty and Butler find some time to stategize their next criminal scheme. I think Arty is talking animatedly about the C-cube here. Butler is very excited.

A little bit later, even more people have assembled in the kitchen (to steal cookies). Angeline is extremely mad at Arty for eating the last Oreo. They were her favourites.

To make his lovely wife feel better, Timmy makes out with Angeline against the fridge. Arty and Butler have stopped talking and are now giving each other rather awkward looks.

Self-explanatory. (Butler is rather speechless.)

That night, before going to bed, Arty checks himself out in the mirror and wonders vaguely whether or not ~~Butler~~ anyone finds him attractive. Arty really likes his Leonardo di Caprio hairdo, though. Oh, yes he does.

And since no one was looking, Arty practices looking all macho and buff, because Butler always looks so cool doing it.

Now, for those of you who have read His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, I introduce Will Parry and his mother, who live in the neighbourhood. Will brought Artemis home from school on the first day, though I don't have pics of that. (Woe!) That day, Will and Arty watched some MTVs and played with the dartboard. They had a great time, and are on their way to becoming good friends. (And for the Crim folks who also ship A/W, you know what this means.)

Here's the inside of the first floor living room of the Parry house. This is Will's third day home from school, and this time he brought me (shameless fandom self-insertion, I know) home to watch TV and eat junk food. Mrs. Parry is having fun with a snowboarding game on the computer. Even though the Parrys aren't rich, I just had to get them a computer so that Will and Arty could send each other e-mails and chat online.

Also self-explanatory. ♥

And a question to the other mods (and anyone who has anything to say): What is the community rating, and are we het/gen/slash-friendly all around? In other words, I'm hesitant to post anything slashier than this if too many members have slash squicks. ~~(I had some really cute A/W courtship shots, but I could easily keep them to my personal journal if I can't put them here.)~~

Yes, so I found this place, and it looks neat, and it's prolly the least-dead Artemis Fowl place I could findddddd...and I hope it's okay to post. :\

But yes. Just wondering, are they going to make a movie? I checked imdb.com, but they don't have any info, basically, and it says there it is to be made in 2005, but that seems unlikely...so. Yes. Pointing me in the direction of anything to do with that would make me a very happy possum.

But, if I'm not supposta post or something, I'm sorry. Kinda new at this whole lj-thing. :)

I merely used these people for the icons because I think they look like the characters. Don't go starting any rumours please.

Taking advantage of me new Mod status, I fiddled around with the comm's layout. Come take a look, and leave comments/suggestions/it's-blinding-me screeches. The colours are rather light and may not be visible on all browsers. If you have problems with visibility, ~~get yourself an LCD screen, dude~~ I'll try to adjust everything a few shades darker. :B

As all of the other Artemis Fowl discussion communities seem to currently be dead, we thought it was time to start a new community to inject a bit of life into the Artemis Fowl fandom on LiveJournal.

Anybody is welcome to join and discuss anything relating to Artemis Fowl. We're friendly ~~and mad~~ and want this community to actually remain active. So, if you're new here - which, this being an entirely new community, means all of us - why not introduce yourself? Tell us how you got into the series, what you like best about it, who your favourite characters are, which ships you support...
