Hello and welcome!
This community was created to spread awareness about the small yet very friendly Japanese cultural community in Montreal. Share events, pictures, questions and talk about Japanese culture in city!
Purpose:
This LJ community was created to spread Japanese culture beyond anime, manga, and jmusic. This isn't to say that we don't appreciate them, in fact, we encourage people to continue to like it, but we'd also like others to open their minds a little more to see beyond the pop culture and delve into the many other Japanese artforms, festivals, and pass times.
What kind of posts we're looking for:
The Do's
- ALL races, age, ethnicities, backgrounds, and religions are welcomed. This community is not restricted to Japanese-only members, it is open for all who are interested in the Japanese community and who wish to be part of it, regardless of age and background.
- Please keep posts that are relevant to the Montreal community, such as: local anime conventions, local festivals, local events, where to buy manga, concert info, etc.
- If you'd like to add a Japanese-Montreal related weblink, please let us know! The more the merrier!
- Volunteer, donate, participate!
- Questions, suggestions to improve your local Japanese community are welcomed.
- French posts are welcomed, if you can, please put an english translation when making announcements :)
The Don'ts
- In regards to others: flaming, slandering, disrespecting posts are NOT allowed. Keep cursing to a bare minimum, no cursing in the subject line. Those in violation will have their posts removed, and banning will occur if necessary.
- This is not a community to share (download/upload) manga, anime, music, videos and films, there are other communities for that, so please keep your posts seperated.
- Posts of selling or buying Japanese related items are allowed as long as they are from people living in the city. Purchase and sell at your own risk, we are not responsible for damaged goods, fraudulent sales and items, or any relations to the items sold or bought on here.
