I'm a student at MGCCC - Jefferson Davis campus and my Psychology class as well as various other organizations are organizing a student auction for student by the name of Nikki Ogden. Nickki has recently been diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. It is a rare, congenital brain disorder, which causes pressure on the spinal cord and wreaks havoc on the entire neurological system due to a misshapen and misplaced cerebellum. She is experiencing a number of symptoms including slurred speech, mobility issues, headaches, dizziness, etc.

Despite her diagnosis Nikki is continuing her education. She is married with 3 daughters ages 3, 6,and 11.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2008 we are holding silent auction. All proceeds will go directly to Nikki and her family.

I am asking for anyone who would like to make a donation of goods, services, or funds for this event to contact LaShaundra at 3blue713(at)gmail(dot)com.

An Obama volunteer here, just reminding folks to go vote tomorrow. Tell everyone you know.

Click here to find your polling place.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11th. If you are in line by 7:00 p.m., you must be allowed to vote.

In Mississippi, any registered voter can vote on Tuesday by requesting a Democratic ballot at the polls. (In other words, you can be registered as a Democrat, Independent, or Republican and still vote for Obama.)

If you believe you were left off the voter list or otherwise prevented from regular voting by error, you must be allowed to cast a provisional ballot.

No identification is required at the polling place unless you are a first-time voter. If you are a first-time voter in Mississippi who registered by mail and did not provide identification at that time, you should bring a valid photo ID, current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or other government document that shows your name and address.

If you have problems or questions, call our voter hotline at 1-866-675-2008 and press 4.

If any of you are into the hardcore/metal scene, I'm sure you've heard Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold are playing in the Taste of Chaos tour, stopping in Biloxi on 03/29. I'm in a band called Our City Burns and we're trying to open that show. There's a battle for the spot and we're in the running. If you guys could, check us out. Just click the link and if you like what you hear, click on the Votes tab and click the vote button. That's all. We need all the help we can get. With the turnout of votes, hopefully we can show Ernie Ball and Rockstar why they should keep bringing shows like this to us. Thank you guys in advance for your support!

The site address, if you'd like to bookmark to vote daily, is:

http://dtoc.battleofthebands.com/our_city_burns
