| About: | 1. What is a liberal?The word has a number of meanings, all of which reflect aspects of liberal thought. These include "favorable to progress and reform, as in religious or political affairs"; "favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, esp. as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties"; "open-minded or tolerant, esp. free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc."; and "characterized by generosity and willingness to give in large amounts". Liberals want to change things to increase personal freedom and tolerance, and are willing to empower government to the extent necessary to achieve those ends __________________________________________________ This community is designed for people of a liberal mind in Mississippi to attempt to trade ideas, gather support and try and make the state a better place to live. Please feel free to post: 1. Political Ideas - Did you read an interesting article that you think others should look at, or perhaps had a thought that you wish to discuss, this is the place to do it. Please remember this is a place for discussion and not conflict. 2. Gathering - Do you want to try and rally liberal support for parts of Mississippi, post meetings here for live discussions. 3. Candidate Support - Do you know of someone that is running for office that needs support or help, ask for it. Activity changes minds. 4. Funny - Please post your political humor, I think that almost everyone likes to make fun of politicians. Rules __________________________________________________ 1.
