    HELP, Please?
I don't know what I did, but I no longer have the ability to write in any text boxes in firefox because they have disappeared. For example, I could not write this entry in Firefox because the box has completely disappeared. I also lost the ability to use my up and down arrow keys and the PAGE UP and PAGE DOWN keys. I am using a beta version of the latest Firefox. Internet Explorer works fine. It's just Firefox. Anyone have any ideas what may have happened?

Article :: Firefox 3.5 – review of new possibilities
New version of popular web browser Mozilla Firefox 3.5 has been released yesterday, on the 30th of June. Probably you already heard about developers’ announce that new Firefox has such many innovations that they even decided to give number 3.5 to this release (before Firefox 3.5, Firefox 3.0.11 was released). It’s time to find out [...]

    Transferring data from...
I have the latest version of Firefox and it seems like whenever I go from site to site, I see something in the lower left hand corner that says "transferring data from..." and it lists a whole bunch of weird things (website addresses?). I haven't tried it in IE yet. I was wondering if anyones know what it means, and if it's something only in Firefox. I am going to cross post this in a few communities, so if you see it more than once, I apologize.

    Here are a few examples:

    "transferring data from direct.shots.com"
    "transferring data from ishouldvebeenanastronaut.com"

Wikipedia 500 Edit History + FF 3.6 alpha = freezes
Does anyone know why when I open Edit History and set it to show 500 edits, after loading 500-edits history FF starts to behave inappropriately?

    Firefox
Hello all. Just downloaded Mozilla Firefox for the first time - I've been using IE.

I love it, but there's two things that make me from using it as my sole browser:

    1. Is there anyway to fix coding? For example, in IE my LJ layout looks great. But in Firefox? Not so much. Same with my Twitter BG.

    2. Is there anyway to change your email settings? Well, for a specific email - my university email. I use Webmail Outlook Express for my university email online, and whenever I use it, it messes up my signature and just makes everything look really blah. Is there anyway around this?

    Thanks!

ETA: I ended up changing my layout for livejournal anyway.

    Getting logged off
Anyone know why I might be getting logged off from everything whenever Firefox restarts?

I'm on v. 3.0.10 and I have it set to keep cookies until they expire. Looks like my version was downloaded 4/27

I've been having several issues with Firefox recently, mostly with add-ons, but I'm hoping someone can still help. I'm using Windows XP.

First thing is when I launch Firefox, the application runs, and is shown in the Task Manager process list, but no browser window appears and it is not listed in the running application list in Task Manager. If I quit the application process and relaunch Firefox, the browser starts fine. Is there a way to fix this?

My other issues are, as I said, with add-ons. If this isn't the correct place to ask about those, could you please direct me in the right direction? The first, and smaller problem, is with Duplicate Tab. Usually, I can right-click a tab and duplicate it in the same window and other nifty things, but recently that option hasn't been appearing when I right-click.

My other issues are with Session Manager. I have tried disabling then re-enabling it, uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but neither have fixed these issues. Firstly, normally there is a sub menu under Tools that says Session Manager, and allows me to save, restore, and so on, my sessions. But now that menu doesn't appear at all.

The other issue with Session Manager is that I can configure it via the Add-ons sub menu to start up each time Firefox starts. Only, sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. And even if it does start up when Firefox is launched, it doesn't load the selected session.

I've been considering uninstalling Firefox and reverting to an earlier version of the program, but I don't want to lose my bookmarks, saved passwords, saved sessions, etc.

    Mozilla Issue?
I'm having a slight problem. When I click inside the Firefox browser window it places a blinking cursor on the page, and I don't know how to make it go away. It makes scrolling down really inconvenient; I have to use the mouse on the side scroll bar.

Has anyone else had this problem?

    k-meleon (OT?)
I'm running Win2k in QEMU and can't get the 1.5 branch to run. It installs fine, but when I try to launch it says there is an error, Windows needs to close it, and it will write to a log.

Sorry if this isn't the best forum for this, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I need a light-weight modern browser for Win2k.

    Email preferences problem
Whenever I click an email link in my firefox browser, I am automatically redirected to a web-based email site. I would rather it automatically open up my ThunderBird program instead.

I tried fowllowing the Firefox help guide but it is still doing the same thing. What am I doing wrong?

    Firefox Personas problem...
I have installed the latest version of Firefox Personas and for one the whole image doesn't show up, just the very tip of the top part, and the footer image that's supposed to be at the bottom doesn't show up at all.

Currently I have the MyFirefox theme installed as well as the modifier for that theme, and DownLoad helper, other then that I do not have any other addons installed. Is there a way to fix this???

    Updates to Firefox
I have Firefox in Windows XP, Ubuntu and OS X on this computer. In Windows and Ubuntu, Firefox updates properly and is version 3.0.8. In OS X, Firefox is 3.0.6 and does not see any updates, even when clicking check for updates. It just tells me there are no updates available, when clearly there are; it doesn't seem to believe 3.0.7 or 3.0.8 exist.

    Things I have tried:
    - I have created a new profile and this does not help.
    - I do not want to install 3.0.8 manually in the hope that this will force the updater into working in the future, because I had to install 3.0.6 manually in the first place after an earlier version could not see any updates. It has never updated, according to the update log.
    - There has only ever been one user account on this operating system, so it is not that I do not have sufficient privileges to run an update.
    - Updates to extensions work automatically and correctly.

    Any ideas?

Mozilla Thunderbird - messages blank in "Sent " folder?
    .
Guys, please help me to solve the mistery: My Mozilla Thunderbird does not show messages in "Sent " folder anymore. It shows the Subject and Reipient, but not the content at the bottom. Instead, the page is either blank or filled with something like "jZF/rvmQyp3oHDSwDGuPr15Ab0/Llt" or other weird stuff.

All other folders are OK. Immediately before this I have Compacted the folder (Right mouse click -> Compact) and deleted some really old files. My email history is over 2 years now. The Thunderbird is not slow though.

    Thank you.

FF3 will not zoom my text...
Ok, so I recently switched to the new version of FF3, and the text refuses to zoom for me! Ive tried multiple add ons but nothing works. Am I doing something wrong? My eyes are bad and I do alot of reading and I need my text zoom.

I click the button nothing happens, I do it manually and nothing happens and i even use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl++) and it wont work either, when it did with the previous version. If I change the default font size in my options it distorts everything and I don't like that.

So whats the problem? Is there some secret Im not getting? Is there a trick to it? Can somebody please help my figure this out...

1 Red X instead of several for Firefox 3.
I used to have an addon (or whatever it's called) that has a red X on the right hand side that close the current tab instead of having a red X on each individual tab. Something happened and now that addon is gone. What was it called? Thanks.

    Bookmarks toolbar
I recently upgraded to the latest version of Firefox-3.0.5 for Mac OSX. All was working well until today, when my bookmarks on the toolbar won't work. When I click, nothing happens. There is a new icon next to one of the bookmarks-it looks like a dumbell standing up. Help please.

    Clear Private Data
Does anyone know exactly how good Firefox's "Clear Private Data" is? I bought a netbook, used it for a few days and realised it was too small for me to use, and so am returning it to the shop (they have confirmed that it is okay for me to return it). Will "Clear Private Data" (plus uninstalling Firefox and doing the boot menu "restore to factory settings" option) get rid of my data well enough to avoid me being a) hacked, b) robbed (paypal), or c) pilloried in the street for being a closet tweepop fan? If not, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do to ensure that the machine is clean when I return it?
