Someone help me name that tune!
It was orchestration from a movie soundtrack, I know it is. I'm thinking mid to late 90's, possibly Disney (or at least Disney-esque with the whole 'underdog story')... for some reason I'm thinking the movie was a period piece. Or a sports movie.
OH MY GOODNESS IS IT EATING MY BRAIN.
I'm usually so good at placing music like that! GAH.

BONES. I don't care how adorable you guys were last night. I don't care how much the banter made me laugh. I'm still angry at you over Zack. And then the way you dealt with Angela and Hodgins at the end? That was crap. Just a way to try and add more drama to the show. And dead girl was pregnant? SHOCKER. You need some better plot writers.

Title: In Dreams
Author:
oddsbobs
Rating: PG
Summary: The love story of Sirius Black.
Pairing: Sirius/Remus implied, Sirius-centric
Prompt: “Like a garden that has endured a long winter, your leaves have shriveled and your stems have withered. But with Venus now in your sign, your zest for life will return and inspire an odd and nearly forgotten dream. A revival has begun.” Taurus
Genre(s): Angst
Notes: Written for Team Post-Hogwarts at the
rs_games - Round Two. This is not a happy fic. Really. Be Warned! I had a lot of difficulty finishing this - in fact, I had to submit it a bit late - because of what's going on with my granddad. However, it was also, in a strange way, a bit cathartic. It's also supposed to be open to interpretation. Let me know what you all think.

Characters: Glitch, Cain, Raw, random Longcoats
Disclaimer: I do not own Tin Man, I am not making money off of this, etc.
Notes: Just a silly bit of random that I wrote while working on a more serious project. Yes, yet another plot bunny that's not from my massive To Do list. Ah, well.
( Can't we all just get along? )

I'm all for free speech and whatnot. I think it's cool that so many people are getting passionate about the government.
HOWEVER.
I'd like to take a moment to remind people to think over what they are saying before they post. Opinions are great. I like reading other people's thoughts on everything. It helps me figure out my own stance on things. Generalizations are not so great. I am not having so much fun reading through my f-list and sometimes feeling like absolute crap afterwards. I'm not evil or crazy or an idiot. Neither is my family. Nor some of my friends.
I'm not going to be talking about politics on this journal after this post, unless anyone is able to convince me otherwise. I'm not going to tell anyone who I voted for in the past and who I'm voting for in the future. I'm here for the crazy fandomness.
I'm not going to ask anyone to stop writing about the elections. Heaven forbid.
This is just a friendly little *wave* and *hello*... politely asking people to keep in mind that generalizations are sticky things and other people out there might have differing beliefs.

I can BS for ages about a specific theme in post-modern lit, or the evolution of Beethoven's style, or the real reasons behind the Civil War, or even why Gawain felt he ultimately failed in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. I will write you PAGES on music during the American Revolution.
Just don't ask me to BS about myself or my abilities. I can play almost any instrument out there, but I can't blow my own horn. (I can't even take praise well. I just blush, smile, and deflect it.) Can we just talk about how awesome everyone else is?
Interview in just over an hour. On the plus side, my sister works there. She loves the company and the lady interviewing me is apparently very nice.
On the negative side, by the time I get back from it, I'll have to run off to the clothing store part-time job. I wanted some time today to finish this stupid fic.

Let's go over the basics again, shall we? In front of you there is this thing called a laptop, and on this laptop there is this document. On this document are some words. By the end of the night, those words are supposed to combine to create something called a 'story' - ideally with a beginning, middle, and end. Got that?
Grr.
love,
Me
In other news, I'm getting something from barnes and noble online, and it qualifies for free shipping (which is awesome). However, it is under ten dollars and for free shipping you need at least twenty-five (which sucks). So, I really want to get something else. The problem is, what do I get?

While I was on the treadmill, I put on first part of Tin Man so I had something to look at. Noticed a few things.
1. there was a poster outside the Mystic Man's theater that says 'O.Z. Unite!'
2. DG's first few 'epiphanies' - the ones regarding the Old Road and the Northern Island, as compared to, say, the revelations about the Cave - really really bug me and I think they're at the root of why I didn't like her character the first time around. We see the big billboard for Milltown, and DG has a flashback to her dad talking about Milltown. It felt like the writers were going 'See? Remember that tidbit? GET IT?' and were forcing it down our throats. I don't like being treated like I'm slow. Ok. Moving on.
3. The Mystic Man's dressing room is plastered in posters from Shakespeare plays, from A Midsummer Night's Dream, to A Merchant in Venice. There was a third easily read poster, but I can't remember it anymore.
I have some decisions to make. Very hard job related decisions. The situation stands thusly:
1. I have a part time job at a clothing store that gives me maybe 10 hours a week for little pay. Enough for me to buy health insurance each month.
2. I just got a call from the company that offered me a position a few months ago which I had to turn down do to the low pay. They want to discuss things again, possibly offer more? I dunno. It's full time, has benefits... but long commute, not in the field I want to get into, and job doesn't look terribly appealing. But they're the first non-retail company to offer me a job, you know?
3. The store that is replacing the book store in theory has an opening for me. Interview on Wednesday. Probably not full time, maaaybe slightly better pay than book store. Retail again. Close to home.
4. I applied to retail store my sister works at. A bit further away, but doable. Good pay. Good company. Potential for full time and benefits.
I don't know what to do. Call back the non-retail company? Go for the job at the book store replacement? I'm even considering just working at the part time clothing store for now and spend a few weeks looking for something in my field. *is so confused*
