Series Summary: The ‘What If’ series is an alternate universe series where I explore various alternatives to the standard storyline. These can range from character deaths to characters never coming to the 27th in the first place. In other stories, I may deal with changing emotions in relationships and affects they might have on those relationships. So far, my Dee-muse has been the main inspiration for these stories; so, blame him if you don’t like them. Whatever else he is, he’s very creative and sadistic. ~_^*
Story Summary: An arsonist has targeted the men and women of the 27th Precinct, how will they deal with the death of one of their own and the horrific burning of another? Can the survivors push forward and prevent additional tragedy? Or will everyone’s dreams go up in flames?
Rating: NC-17, adults only Warnings: Yaoi, violence, mature themes, arson, character death
Pairings: J.J./Drake Timeframe: Approximately 2005 Series: What If?

Just to let people know, I'm still alive and semi-functional. I'm participating in NaNoWriYe in the 3 million word challenge level. Initially, I'm going to concentrate on a rewrite of From the Ashes so it fits with the other two stories in the trilogy and an original novel called Survival Dot-Com.
I'll be posting links to chapters of Ashes and I have some plans on giving access to Survival down the road. I just want to make sure I protect my ability to eventually have the novel published if a company becomes interested. If anyone has any ideas on that, I would love to hear them.

The job requirements include: knowledge of weapons, blond or light brown hair, and a protective personality. Ryo would be perfect; but, he arrested the suspect in the first place. Dee's warning bells are set off when the events begin to unfold. Will his predictions be correct or is his internal radar off this time? How will a cop deal with one of the most difficult situations a person can be placed in? And, what the heck is wrong with that guard?

As always, please leave a review. I won't know if you're enjoying the story or not if I don't hear from you. Also, these chapters have all been revised to some degree to fit with a series format.
Okay ... my Dee-muse had other plans. If he cooperates, I should be able to post new chapters for Weekend on Sunday at the same time I post new Battle Scars. In the meantime, check out the first story in the 'What If' series called 'From the Ashes'. I posted the prologue and first three chapters.
Because of all the positive feedback, starting next Friday, I'll be posting new Battle Scars. However, to keep my Dee muse happy, I'm also going to be posting 'From the Ashes' the first story in the 'What If' Series. Just check these summary postings for the newest chapter postings.
Happy Reading, Mori .

Trilogy: Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust
Story 1: From the Ashes
Warning: Character Death!
Summary: An arsonist has targeted the men and women of the 27th Precinct, how will they deal with the death of one of their own and the horrific burning of another. Can the survivors push forward and prevent additional tragedy? Or will everyone's dreams go up in flames?

Please, give me some idea if you enjoy this story. I promise I will get back to Weekend Psychology. My Dee-muse has kind of derailed me by refusing to finish that story until I get the first seven chapters finished for this one. Thankfully, I'm almost there. Chapters 5 through 7 are being reviewed by my friendly burn specialist.
New chapters for Battle Scars are almost ready to go. Two chapters are in the hands of my lemon editors and as soon as they give the 'okay' I can move forward with those chapters. Another five are in the hands of my doctor for medical editing.
Happy Reading, Mori .
A few notes about the chapter songs:
I listen to music when I'm writing. The chapter songs tend to be music I listened to while I worked on the chapter or were songs that inspired chapters. (Kiss's 'Heaven's on Fire' & Barry McGuire's 'Eve of Destruction' kind of inspired this entire story. I've got to be more careful around my Dee-muse.)
Some chapters have multiple songs. These are listed as ##a, ##b, ##c, etc (depending on the number of songs, of course); ##a would correspond to the first part of the chapter, ##b, the next part, etc.
A couple of chapters didn't really have a song that I listened to during the writing; for those chapters, I use a song that fits the tone of the chapter.
Any comments or suggestions on other music choices would be greatly appreciated. This is my first attempt at creating a soundtrack for one of my stories and I hope it works out. .
