This community is open for play! There's a members-only story already underway; join to see it (and then hop into the story!).

When replying to a story, please make sure you reply to the last comment. That way, your response will show in that person's comment notification emails so they know to reply to you. If the thread is getting long and the person you're responding to is the person who opened the story, please reply directly to the initial post; the datestamp will keep everything in order. Otherwise, after too many replies the thread becomes narrow and difficult to read. Long, uber-indented threads shouldn't be a problem with the new CSS. Just make sure you're replying the last story post and everything will progress nicely.

character profiles

Your characters must be original creations (e.g, you can't play Spider-Man but you can play a superhero), and they must have basic descriptions. If someone else's character automatically dislikes redheads and your character has red hair, it's important to let writers know in your character profile. Please create a Twine Encyclopaedia entry for your character and post its address here.

If Twine is being difficult (it happens), please post your writeup to your own journal and comment here with that post's URL. The admin will get to poke Twine with a stick until it accepts its ~~medicine~~ new content. That's it.

Note that you do not have to apply to play here. Just join the community, add your character profile to this list, and hop into a story.

SETTING: A mysteriously featureless, colorless plain with some sickly plant life and no other remarkable traits.
TIMELINE: Cross-time, so variable for each character. Pick the time in your character's existence that fits best and use that.
CHARACTERS: To date (22 Aug 2006): Jaina Jade, Artemisia, Green, and anyone else who wants in.
LIMITED TO: No limits. All characters are welcome in this story.

A point of light formed above an empty, monochrome landscape. The flickering dot expanded into a mid-air circle a few feet across. It wavered, paused, shook again. Then it abruptly spat a swearing redhead onto the open ground before fading away.

Jaina had landed the wrong way on her foot and was not the least bit happy about it. "Where the hell is this, then?" she asked no-one, as no-one was present to reply.

There were tufts of grey grass, a darkly overcast and colourless sky, a few stark trees that looked half-dead.

The woman summoned her inner Keanu and solemnly appraised her situation: "Whoa."
