Small Business Accountant / Tax Person

I started a small business this year and need someone to help keep my books and taxes in tip-top shape for the government. The thing is I am completely clueless about this stuff, and don't even know where to start looking---especially since this is such a small business. Does anyone have a recommendation? Preferably in the downtown area?

Good places for advertisements

Hi There, a partner and I have recently opened a business (actually there were 3 of us but one of them just wasn't putting up her share of the work so se kinda let her go but I digress...)

We've been open for a little under two months and business has been doing well, we're tight and we sometimes dig in our own pockets but we pay the bills.

Where we are coming up short however is in the the hiring of new employees section.
We have ads in a few papers, we've put ads on craigslist, kijiji and annonces123.

The prospects that we have had have been flaky at best.

So I come to you dear Montreal community for help in finding other places to advertise, papers are expensive and we already have all the free papers covered (free as in people don't pay to take them but we pay to advertise) Mirror, 24h, Voir, Ici, Hour.

So for now we're not really willing to add new papers to the list.

We can't really put a "we are hiring sign" since the place is on a second floor behind the commercial building situated in.

What other good ways do you know of to advertise? any sites I'm not thinking of? or other places that are free or not too expensive.

Does anyone know if colleges and universities have bulletin board for people who may be looking for a part time job?

--

As an aside anyone know of any accountants willing to offer a brain picking session concerning taxes and receipts and stuff, or a good source of information for that sort of thing?

Thanks in advance

business cards;

hi there!

where would be the cheapest place for me to get business cards done?

bureau en gros, for example, can give you 1000 black & white cards for ~$23.

i would like to support smaller businesses though - so if you know of a printing shop (more points if it's located in the lower plateau/downtown area), then do share. :)

Luna on my hand

(no subject)

I know it was talked about a year ago or so but has anyone managed to compile a list of local arts/crafts shows? It's a slow time of year for a lot of artisans and I'm hoping there's something out there for us that I'm just missing?

Also, while I'm here, I'm a published polymer clay artist (my pieces are all one of a kind) and instructor with a little experience in silversmithing. I'm looking for someone to work with on some polyclay/precious metal pieces for galleries and book submissions. I don't feel my silver work is up to par and I'd love to have a more experienced person to collaborate with. I'm thinking bezels and bails mostly. Anyone? Blacksquiggles @ hotmail.com.
