interviewees sought for an academic study on bartering/swapping/trading

Hello Montreal Livejournalers,

I am a university professor interested in the phenomenon of swapping/bartering consumer goods through online communities (such as livejournal, makeupalley, specktra, etc). I am seeking participants that I can interview about their bartering experience. I am most interested in cosmetics bartering, but I'd love to talk to you even if you have bartered/traded other things online (clothing, books, dvds, you name it). if you are interested in the study please check the research web site out and drop me a line:
http://jmsb.concordia.ca/~zarsel/why_Barter/

Your participation is fully voluntary and you are entitled to remove yourself from the participant pool any time. Your name and other identifying information will be kept confidential. Unfortunately, there won't be any monetary compensation for your participation, but in my experience most interviewees find expressing themselves in a friendly and confidential setting very rewarding.

If you are interested, please drop me a line at bartering@jmsb.concordia.ca so that I can provide you more information and proceed ahead. Time-wise, I am flexible; so if you are currently busy but will be available in the upcoming months don't hesitate.

Please pass this message to anyone that you think might be interested in.

Merci!

Zeynep Arsel
Assistant Professor of Marketing
John Molson School of Business

Addendum: I put aside some grant money to use for this so I will be able to pay $20 to participants, $40 if it is a very long interview (more than an hour). I hope this is a good compensation for your time.

(no subject)

I'm looking to learn how to use a sewing machine again. Specifically for making stuffed animals (I don't even know if that matters but I figured I'd put my motives out there, I want to avoid making skirts like I did in home EC a few years ago.) Where can a broke (emphasis on broke) student learn to use a sewing machine?

I'd be willing to trade lessons for baked goods. I'm pretty good at cooking, I can do vegan baked things, too!

Anyway, I'd really like to learn, and I'm hoping someone here can help me out in some way.

This: for this:

Sound good? I really hope so.

Thanks!

Swedish Lessons

Hey people,

looking for someone who speaks SWEDISH! Yes! I'm swedish but have failing luck of learning the language, since I'm in and out of Sweden only once a year on about a month basis. Might be moving there for school next year for a few months, and either way want to get the basics and more down to pat. Could trade for english lessons or coffee is on me! (hum, broke student here!)
