Found Ferret

My sister and family friend found a ferret in Jarry Park on Wednesday.
Colour: white with speaks of brown and black.
Quite friendly
Sex unknown

It was brought to the SPCA.
If anyone knows anything? Spread the word, I'm sure he/she belongs to someone.

As described by elfbabe :
To give a better description, he's a silver male, he looks like he's no more than a couple years old, and he has a couple of white spots on the top of his head.

abandoned cat

Hello,

There's a cat that lives in my block since I moved on the beginning of july. He does not have a home, eventhough he has a collar. I'm feeding him every day, but I can't keep him. I'm just getting worried about him because it's getting  colder and he really needs a family. I just moved to Montreal so I don't know what I can do to help him. Maybe sending him to an animal shelter? Does anyone know any?
Or maybe someone out there can adopt him...or knows someone that would like to do that. He is a small male.

thank's for your help guys!

Furrets?

 Hi again Mtl :)

I have been hunting like crazy on Kijiji and Craigst, even went to the SPCA.

My husband and I are looking to adopt 2 ferrets. We've been responding to tons of ads online, and everytime we get a response, they are asking a min of $200 for a ferret. And we're looking for 2. So yeah, can't afford that lol.

So, my question here is this. Does anyone know of any rescues(besides the SPCA, cause I know they only currently have 1, and we have to get 2), or someone looking to sell or rehome theirs?

Any info would be appreciated Thanks

More SPCA News

I hope you don't mind these posts! But this is great news. I don't know any more than this, so please contact them for questions.

Merci infiniment.

The Montreal SPCA is proud to announce a new initiative to help reduce stray cat overpopulation! The Montreal SPCA, with help from the volunteers at Steri-Animal has partnered with Municipality of Verdun to run a Trap Neuter and Release Program (TNR). This program will enable the Municipality of Verdun to gradually sterilize all feral cats in their community and to deal with the overpopulation in an effective, efficient and humane manner.

Volunteers will be trained on a variety of techniques and skills involved in TNR, and once trained, will be able to partake in the SPCA’s TNR program with Verdun.

This program will not be possible without the help of trained volunteers, and we are looking, in particular, for Volunteers from the Verdun, Sud-Ouest (St. Henri) and Pointe St Charles areas to participate.

We are really excited about this new initiative, and hope it will serve as a model for other Municipalities.

If you are interested in joining the SPCA TNR team, or for more information please contact Alanna Devine at adevine@spcamontreal.com

Thanks!

Looking for a kitten to adopt...

Hello everyone,

I've seen a lot of people posting ads for kittens to adopt on here, so I thought I'd give this a try. I'm looking to adopt a kitten between the ages of 4-6 months old.

If you can recommend any good cat shelters, I'd be more than happy to hear about that too, in case  we don't find anything this way.

I have an abandoned cat who's in need of a house to live in. She has been abandoned this summer in my backstreet, and since then, she's always coming at my house for food. Now that it's getting colder outside, I want to find an owner who could have her. I'll bring her to the veterinary this week to have her check-up. Otherwise, she's a very affectionate cat and clean. She's sociable with other cats, but prefers the company of humans. Comment if you have an interest in having her!

---

Hey everyone,

I have these 2 baby squirrels who fell from my front balcony. We tried to wait for the mother to come and get them back in the nest and it's been 2 days since. We kept them on our balcony, but one escaped and fell down, in the rain, so he's not in a good shape.

I did call the SPCA and they told me that the only place was the Berger Blanc. I did call and leave a message, but that will have to wait for tomorrow morning...

Does anyone know some other wildlife animal rescue shelter/center? I just don't want to drop them somewhere and have them put them to sleep. I know they are squirrels and many people find them annoying, but they're still living creatures.

Thank you for your help

kitty needs a home

Hi Montreal,

I've been watching my friend's cat for the past three months and I can't keep him at my apartment anymore due to various reasons, so Lydon needs a foster home for about a few weeks until my friend comes up from Toronto to take him in April.

photos )

He's about 2 years old and kinda cross-eyed, but pretty low maintenance.
reply here or email me at futureismetric@hotmail.com for more information, to arrange something, whatever. Or if anyone knows of a place that can take in a cat temporarily (SPCA?) please let me know!

thank you!!

Greetings, I am new to this community.

I have compiled a list of local animal shelters located here in Montreal...

If you have a place in your heart for animals, please visit the links listed below. If you aren't able to adopt and can't make a donation, consider volunteering or even better, become a temporary foster home for an animal in need. Many of these shelters will provide you with food and pay all vet expenses, so it doesn't cost you a thing ; you just have to open you heart and home! Temporary foster homes are needed for dogs, cats & rabbits ; so even if you don't have that much space, there's a pet out there that you can help. Please consider it...

SVP pensez-y!!

Great news

I few weeks ago I posted some pictures of a Cocker Spaniel I found near Angrignon Metro. I am glad to say Animatch from Ile Perrot took him in from the SPCA. They fixed him up and he is now up for adoption. Here is the link if anyone is still interested. He was such a sweet dog.
