I was wondering if there were any burlesque nights or classy caberet-esque strip clubs in Montreal which would offer a fun, entertaining show?
I spoke to a girl a few weeks back who is part of a troupe starting monthly burlesque nights in the city, but that won't be for another month or so and she said there were possibly a few other one off nights happening around the place and I should keep an eye out until then. 
Anybody know of anything happening soon?
My friends and I are wanting to celebrate our first pay cheques in the city and commemorate the end of summer, plus it would make up for me dragging the male half to Mado Cabaret...


A few other random questions: anyone know of a place which serves or sells haggis?

And what is a good store can I buy good staple, plain cotton t-shirts in different styles/colours that is NOT gap or american apparel? I'm not much of a shopper and have only been able to stand fifteen minutes in a mall so far: if I knew exactly where to head it would make life jollier...

I would like to re-issue my announcement, as my last announcement got lost in another issue.

I would like to explain that Stella is creating a committee for the dancers of the adult entertainment industry.

We would like to take stock of the current situation of the workers who are stigmatized and marginalized by doing this LEGAL work. There are quite a number of single mothers and immmigrant women in this line of work. The life of a dancer can effect many people. There are many issues that need to be discussed and ACTION taken regarding the backbone of this industry, the dancers.

- Did you know that at one time dancers were paid by the clubs, but now we pay to work?
- Did you know that lapdancing has only been around since 1994?
- Do you ever get a receipt for your taxes when you pay your bar service?
- Have you ever witnessed violence in a club you work/ed at?
- Has a customer ever ripped you off and you were unable to recover your money?
- Have you been the victim of a physical or sexual assault from a client?

Salut Montreal!!

I'm coming from Toronto to Montreal with 4 friends from the 19th-22nd of this month, and we're looking for things to do!

We'll be staying at the L’Abri du voyageur Hotel at Ste-Catherine and St-Laurent so we're pretty close to the heart of downtown (I believe?) which is a bonus considering we're coming by bus and don't intend on renting a car, but instead want to take advantage of your fabulour Metro!

We're looking for good bars, clubs, restaurants, strip clubs etc that the locals rave about themselves! I, myself, have been to Montreal before (allbeit, five years has passed by) but I'm going with 3 out of 4 people who have never experienced the city so I want to show them what it's all about!

We've got three nights, and want to hop around during all of them. I'm looking for modern indie, trashy, hiphop, rock ...everything! This is going to be a packed four days for us, and we have to make the most of it!

So give me your best shot, and blow me away!
