Band Practice in Villeray

Last night I was walking my dog down St. Denis close to Liége when I heard this band practicing. If you're reading, you sounded really good and it was nice to hear. I wanted to stay and listen longer but my dog was more interested in sniffing cement. So if this is your band, props. Who are you and where do you perform? You sound like good beer drinking and boots music.

DESPERATELY SEEKING PONY TAIL HATS

I have been looking for two years now with no success.

I want some winter hats with pony tail HOLES for my 5 year old daughter to wear. I found some two years ago for adults so the hat was too big for her.

PLEASE, if you know where I can get some let me know! I will pay hard-earned cold cash for a couple. Will travel (or make arrangements) if such hats can be found in Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto.

Thanks for keeping an eye out for me.

X-posted

grocery store on Cote des Neiges?

So I'm trying to find a grocery store that I am SURE exists. I seem to recall there being a massive one right across the street from Plaza Cote des Neiges. I've looked on the websites for Metro, Super C, IGA, Maxi, Provigo and Loblaws, and none of them seem to have a store anywhere on Cote des Neiges except Metro, and there's just the one near Queen Mary. This one is farther down CdN near Jean Talon. Anyone know which of the Big 6 it is, or if it's even there still?

Hairdresser question - Au Premier

Hi, I'm new to the area and live in Montreal-Ouest. I've read here that Au Premier is a great place to get your hair cut, but have a question.

I am a female with hair that is around mid neck in length. I am not sure what I want to do besides cut it shorter. Would Au Premier be open to suggesting hair styles for me or do the stylists there prefer you come in with a solid concept?

Thanks!

Background checks...

I have a friend who needs to find out if they have a criminal record or not and so I suggested that they do a background check on themselves to find out. There are a lot of companies out there, and I know when I needed a background check for an old job, I went to this place in Complexe Desjardins called something like IFS investigations or something. Do any of you know what it is called? ... or... would you know of a reputable place in downtown montreal? What is the approximate cost? Is it still around 40$ or so?

Thank you,

C.

Good pho places

I've been on a pho kick lately and have found good pho at Restaurant Lyla on Jean-Talon in Park Ex, Le Tonkin on St-Laurent not far from St-Zotique, and Pho Nam Do on Saint-Denis near Jean-Talon. The tiny Vietnamese café tucked into the east side of Jarry metro station, whose name I don't think I've ever noticed, also does a decent one.

Anyone else have any favourites?

Also, does any decent pho place stay open later than 9?

Dining Recommendation: Los Clasicos

Hi there,

I just came back from Los Clasicos (4561 St-Laurent just above Mont-Royal) and the food there was INCREDIBLE!
The guacamole was so fresh and even a little spicy!
I had the Gringa: a tortilla with spicy chicken and cheese + pineapple, onions, coriander and tomatoes which you could add as much or as little as you wanted to the inside.

We had this AMAZING waiter who was fluent perfectly--PERFECTLY--trilingual (I was more than a little jealous of his perfect accent in Spanish, French and English) and he was incredibly friendly and super quick with our order.

And to it was super affordable!
Around $25 (tip included) for two people.

I consider myself to be a pretty big snob when it comes to Mexican food and so when I say: Great, I mean, MAGNIFICENT!

Go! NOW!

Hey Montreal!

I was at work today (I'm a waitress) and a man robbed me. My boss says it's my responsibility to reimburse him the amount of stolen cash. Is this true? My boss says that because the money was stolen before my shift ended, it is my responsibility and he has a legal right to demand the money.

If he's lying to me, and he has no right to try and force me to give him several hundred dollars.... can anyone offer me a job?
