Pixie Haircut
'Twas said it will be another hot summer = short haircut ahead.

I've checked the archives and took note of some of the hair salons mentioned and such. However, I am intent on getting a pixie cut, which I think can easily be transformed into something unpleasant under the wrong hands. So any advice on a place that is known to give tasteful pixie cuts?

Many thanks!

i'm under the impression that HED Salon is the best in town (i've been researching a new up-scale salon for when i move to the city), so i would try there.

i got a pixie cut about this time last year and i love it! i'll show you some pictures of mine :D
the salon i went to was the same price range as HED salon, so i figure they're similar in what you can expect as far as quality.

I've gotta say: I've never had a bad hair cut at Funky Toque, ever.
My last one (and probably the best I've ever had, ever) was with Bruno. But you could always ask if there's anyone there that's good at shorter styles / pixie cuts when you make an appointment.

I don't have any specific advice, but I wanted to at least leave a hearty LOL to your pics! SO true!

The only salon I've been to in Montreal is La Coupe, and so far they've always been lovely. I've had all of two cuts there, but they were both good and a lot of my friends go there, too.

I like Katherine at Au Barbershop. I've been going to her for almost a year (and get a cut every 5-6 weeks). She listens to you and is also very fun to talk to.

Hm, you didn't mention a price range but I definitely second Barbershop. The junior stylist does cuts for 40$ (I think? I haven't been in awhile) but my true favourite for short, funky cuts is Dave at Salon Beaute on St Denis. He's a perfectionist and will really work with what you want/your headshape.
(He costs 100$+, though)

Hiya, sorry for the delay. Been traveling. Katherine charges $40, but its been like that for a while, so eventually she'll move up I think.

i did not have a great experience with bruno at funky toque.

i really like claudia at mood at st. laurent and sherbrooke. she listens and will do exactly what you ask. i have very "fine" hair and she does a fantastic job with it. and my girlfriend (who has very thick straight hair) also loves what she does. i haven't gotten a pixie cut there - but my girlfriend does get her hair cut rather short (a different style, though) and it always looks great!

also, mood is a higher end salon but claudia is at the low end of their price range for $56 (tax included). so it's not super cheap but not super expensive either!

Oooh! Goody! Thanks for all the places, so quick too! I'll look into them. And tashuhhh, awesome pics - that's exactly what I'm looking for!

Sharon at Salon Blue Earth.

Be careful you don't get charged for weird things though. The woman who owns the place is a complete turd.

I recommend Emelie at Tonic. SHe's not cheap, but she's a short hair expert.

Merik and Katija at Beauty Business (St. Denis, just below Marie Anne) do amazing short hair cuts.
