Modded Wii - need update !
Hello fellow gamers,

A while ago, I bought a modded Nintendo Wii, which got the wiifree chip I think. As most Wii gamers probably know by now, Nintendo found a way to "detect" modded wiis and an error message started to appear with Mario Galaxy and some others.

So my question is, what can I do ? I guess my options are to either buy the rela retail games or get a new chip or modify the existing chip. As for retail games, that would be my choice without hesitation but for the next year, my income wont allow it.

So it leaves two options and I got no idea where to look for, do any of you know someone who can install or modify a chip ?

Thanks !

the retail games will be able to detect your chip ( i think) your safest bet is to remove the chip altogether...

Actually, most games still work with the chip. Only a few dont (Mario Kart and Galaxy among others).

So... no... im looking for a solution to play copies of games.

but that's just it, the Nintendo games have the detection program inside them, that's why those games don't work and they never will as long as you have that chip installed. It's only a matter of time before the third parties use the same programming so your option is to remove the chip or replace it with a new one, which will need replacing as Nintendo catches up.

The way I see it, you'll spend as much per chip as you do per game. But if breaking the law is your thing, check out the Cyclowiz v.2

early adoption of mod chips is one of the dumbest thing you can do, count yourself lucky your wii isn't bricked

Step 1: Remove the chip.
Step 2: Make friends.
Step 3: Play the games with friends, or borrow their games.

This is how I get access to games. Between my brother, boyfriend, and dozen other gamer friends, I'm good.

It will cost you to replace the chip, and it will cost something for the copies. Buy one good game that has replay value instead, and get it done with. Oh, and since you'll be removing the chip, Mario Kart & Galaxy will work!

And if you want games for cheap, hit up EB games and ask what used/returned games they have.
