(no subject)

Just a heads up/Rant: The cahsiers at Provigo grocery store on Parc ave. are SOOO unbelievably RUDE.
Has anyone else experienced this?
This was not the first time I've had a less than satisfactory experience there, and have decided to bOyCoTT TEH ST0RE!!!!11 (Srsly, though. There are cheaper stores/better produce/better service available elsewhere).

Anyway, my rant of how appallingly rude some people can be:
Tonight I was waiting in line and the store was closing/not letting more people in. There was only 1 cashier open, so there were 10 people in line. One man was standing in line with his teenage kids, and, like so many people do, forgot to get something. So he left his kids standing in line and went to get it. While he was coming up the aisle the cashier managing the cash yelled out to him: "Do you work here?" OBVIOUSLY knowing the man did not (obvious.. if you work there you know who does, also the man was clearly not in store uniform) and so in yelling that the cashier was very passive-aggressively and inappropriately really trying to ask the man to stop shopping as the store was closing. So then, why not just say so? Don't be obnoxious. And besides, yeah I know the store was closing, but his kids were already in line so it's not like they were really continuing to shop.

The man was shocked and offended, but he handled it well. He responded: "Do I WORK here? No..." And everyone stared/exchanged rolly eyes and smirks. Furthermore, I think the man was a tourist... way to give out of towners a great impression of hospitable Montreal!

SO awkward. WTF.
Do not shop at that Provigo! This is not the first time I have witnessed awkward staff vs. client interactions..... Do you have any stories to share??

Are prices for dental services regulated in QC?

...I was always under the impression that basic dental services like examinations and cleanings are regulated, but my sister just got a full examination + cleaning for $60 (not a dental school; it's an established practice w/ two locations in QC)...whereas I'm paying $145 at another dentist for the same services. Am I being ripped off like crazy, or what??? I am currently living on my own and have learned to appreciate the value of a dollar haha...my parents would be so proud! ;) Thanks MTL!
