Practice Space Suggestions HELP!

I'm in a bit of a predicament regarding practice space. I'm a singer but I don't study my singing through an institution but rather with a private teacher. Therefor, I have to find my own practice space. The practice space I've been using is closed on weekends for the summer and I've got a concert coming up so I need to be practicing every day. I'm super limited financially and really can't afford to rent out studio space. Also, I've knocked on the doors of the churches and synagogues in my area and they've all said no, especially on weekends.
So, I'm wondering if anyone can suggest anything. Has anyone ever walked into a public space the day of (i.e. church, community center) and just asked to use some space right then and there? Or, can anyone suggest anywhere in the NDG, CDN, Westmount area or downtown that would be forthcoming with sharing their space, especially on the weekend? I do take some classes at concordiabutam unaware ifthe music school at Loyola is open to non music students and is open during the summer on weekends.

help to identify a song?

Hello!

As we know, Carifiesta was two weeks ago. On their homepage, there is this song that plays in the background. It's driving me nuts! If you would help me identify it, I'd really appreciate it. I've googled what I can, I've youtubed it... I can't get enough lyrics in a row to. I have called a few friends that may know but they don't. There's one person I know who could tell me what it is, he's in St. Vincent at the moment. The only other person is my ex, and that is totally not worth a call for...

Anyhoo, story there for nothing: http://www.carifiestamontreal.com/ it plays there. Please help!

(no subject)

I would like to purchase a bike. But I would like a bike that is old-ish and CHEAP, so that I would not be forlorn over its loss if it is stolen. It is really to just get back and forth to school. Does anyone know a place I could get a used/new cheap old-ish bike in the downtown or plateau area for the fall and spring? Or if there is no place, how do I go about getting an old bike like this? Thanks so much!

Seth Thomas Pendulum Clock repair

This is very specific, and google hasn't yielded any answer even close to what I'm looking for!

Basically, my parents' antique Seth Thomas clock died last week, and they would like to find a place where they could go to to either just fix it, or replace the entire clock movement by another Set Thomas movement.

I've been to some "horloger" but many of them don't know a thing about these clocks and will just stick a normal pendulum movement in there (which often sings, wtf!) which has a much shorter life-span. (Basically, a place that knows stuff like this and can order the parts.)

We're willing to drive pretty much anywhere!

Japanese language practice

My French is improving but my Japanese is atrophying. When I call my mom she has to remind me of words like sengetsu. This will not do. If you'd like to hang out in Japanese with me, comment here. It'll be fun.

Persian restaurant?

I would love to try Persian food (specifically Persian), and who better to ask than this ever-resourceful community? I think that there is a restaurant on Sherbrooke, in the eastern bit of NDG, but I'm hoping for a personal recommendation.

I would like an intimate atmosphere, and quality ingredients. Oh, and it should be accessible by public transit and a general price range would be useful.

Thanks

ETA: I basically want something authentic, but the kicker is that I won't really know whether it is or not, unless someone else can vouch for it. Thanks again!
