Issues with my metro
I'd like to share certain issues I have with our metro system. In fact, I don't know if there are any organisms or groups at work regarding these, so if you've heard of something, please point me in the right direction:
1) Recycling vs garbage. I just returned from New-Brunswick and P-EI and I can't believe I was gullible enough to think Montreal was truly concerned with recycling. It seems nowadays that everywhere I go outside of Montreal and Quebec, everyone has the common sense of putting recycling bins and ashtrays right next to the garbage bins. In Moncton, you have trash, paper, plastic, metals and glass, all neatly lined up in the same spot. Obvious!
Does anyone knows why Montreal, and in particular the STM, with its ever-present campaign for us to pick ourselves up in the Metro, hasn't got the genius to realize this? Is anyone at work on that?
2) MP3 Cellphones, and the idiots using the crappy loudspeaker (such at it is) in public. That's not a pet peeve, it's downright disrespectful. But I did witness one thing tonight while waiting for my connection at Jean-Talon: if someone yells at the person with enough conviction and strength, other people can join in and protest too for the person to turn it off.
Are there any penalties or something like that for people who turn up their music publicly, just like that? Those cops who patrol in the Metro, do they address this issue? Could it be considered a public disturbance/nuisance?
3) Okay, nobody can really do anything about it, so just a FYI to those metro zombies who walk in front of the wagon's doors as it stops: two diametrically opposed and equal forces cannot overcome each other. Simple physics. So can you please wait until people get off the metro before swarming in? Because when I walk out and I bump into you and you get hurt or you fall to the floor or I slam my gym bag inadvertedly in your face, it's in reality not my fault you rushed me and kept me from exiting as I should.

Any thoughts on those issues?
