Bird Breeders?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable bird breeder in the area? I'm looking specifically for a breeder of Senegal parrots, Conure parrots (of any kind), or Quaker parrots. I'd prefer to buy from a breeder instead of a pet store, and to ideally get a recommendation from someone who's either bought from the breeder or knows one personally instead of taking a chance on a listing like Kijiji.

Thanks!

Merci!

Fantasia Festival Monday Night Screening Will Also Benefit Montrealer

The Fantasia festival is almost upon us! Tickets went on sale yesterday. I am looking forward to three weeks of mind-altering fantastic, science fiction, horror and generally offbeat cult films!

Take a look at the website of North America's largest and most notable cult film festival.

Fantasia has offered to donate a portion of each ticket sold for the Monday, July 7th 9:45pm screening Canadian premiere of the animated horror omnibus Peur(s) du Noir to a Fantasia fan: Emru Townsend, who is hoping to undergo a bone marrow transplantation at the end of the month/early August. The film features six distinct nightmarish visions.

Looking for Yoga Studio in Mile End/Outremont Area

I am interested in finding a reputable Hatha yoga studio in the Mile End or Outremont area. Does anybody have any suggestions (or suggestions of places to avoid)?

Thanks.

Looking for a loft

And so my search begins again.
I'm looking for an artist's loft somewhere on the island (west is preferrable) that's near a metro.
If you have one for rent, have a connection, have walked by a sign, let me know. It's not urgent but I'm expecting to have to move out of my current place in the next few months.
Nothing over $700, otherwise hit me with whatever you can. The place doesn't have to take musicians or animals.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the x-posting.

Designer bags?

I'm only just starting to get into fashion and I was wondering where a montrealer goes to get nice handbags? I was looking at the Matt and Nat site and saw some really nice bags and I noticed that people from Montreal who post on [info]in_my_purse have really nice bags as well. I'm in the process of making some big changes in my life and feel like I deserve a really great bag. My only issue is that I absolutely refuse to buy a leather bag.

So, montreal... where can I find good quality, not made of leather designer (or even not designer) bags?

Yellow Pages

Thanks for your help with the apartment question for my husband a few days ago. He's found a place in Cote de Neiges - it's not the fanciest, but the landlord is going to replace the flooring, the fridge, and some ceiling tiles before he moves in on Aug. 1, (yes, he got that in writing), and even crappy flooring looks halfway decent when it's brand new, so it should be fine.

Now he has another question - what is the best online Yellow Pages/directory for the area? He knows about yahoo.yellowpages.ca, but we know from experience that Yahoo YP (in the US at least) isn't always the most up-to-date, so it's good to have a second opinion. And for some unexplainable reason he doesn't like Google. Are there any others?
