Montréal

Hey!  I'm about three blocks from Dawson College, and there are police, and helicopters around the place.  A friend called on his cellphone to say the police have blocked off the college, and there were bleeding students, as well as students who were clearly in shock at the Sherbrooke entrance.  

What happened?

College and nearby buildings have been evacuated.

FYI: CTV, Global TV, and CBC are reporting 12 victims admitted to Montréal General Hospital; 6 are critical, 2 are serious, and 4 are stable.


Update:

1 suspect (aka gunman) is reported dead.
S.W.A.T. is on the scene... apparently concerned there could be another/other suspect(s).

The area around Dawson College (on Sherbrooke) is now blocked off.


And now there are at least 20 confirmed victims... however, reports stipluate that there was only 1 fatality - the gunman.

any recommendations for places that strech shoes in montreal? i am looking for a good quality job hopefuly for a reasonable price. i have a pair of pink swear shoes from the uk and i just can't accept that they are too tight! i have repeatedly tried shoe stretching sprays but they do not stretch to the full .5 size i need to strectch these adorable shoes of mine. names, addresses/locations of places and approx. prices (if possible) would be appreciated! thanks!
ps is there moneysworth & best in montreal? or any other reliable place that does good shoe repair and backs up there work?

... my heart goes out to anyone who has been affected by what occured today... I had a friend's girlfriend who's pregnant leave 15 minutes before the shooting. My heart goes out to everyone and props to Concordia, Dawson and Montreal for getting things together so quickly. So sad.

I'm a born-and-raised Montrealer (who was a close witness to the Concordia shootings) who moved to Boston a few years ago, but right now, my heart is back home with everyone in Montreal. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

As a Dawson student who was in the atrium [lower, thankfully] when the shooting started, I'd just like to thank everyone for their posts. It's nice to see the support of fellow montrealers. I'm somewhat at a loss for words right now, but I just wanted to give my thanks.

You've all seen it over & over. And so have I.

I have recordings from the radio I was listening to, watched the news, WAS THERE MYSELF, I mean...Just, the stories are too much...
